Check your Intel GPU driver version, if it is an pretty old one that offered by your pc or laptop vendors, ask them to provide a newer version for update as Intel releases new driver version almost every quarter to fix issues.

It has large chance to fix issues on 4k bd playback.

Yes, it's capture resolution. On 1280x720, my capture screen is empty. But it works on 640x480 or 1920x1080. But everytime I start YouCam, it's restored to 1280x720. I want to change the capture resolution to 1920x1080 without opening setting every startup.

My playform works fine and Youcam will keep the resolution I selected last time.

Have you ever unplugged your webcam or let other webcam programs take over the control of the webcam after you closed Youcam and then relaunch youcam later?

I may try reinstall the webcam by removing it in windows device manager first, reboot the computer and then reinstall back the webcam to check if it helps.

or, you can contact their customer support to investigate this case.
Quote I purchased YouCam 9, downloaded it and installed it, but it would not activate. I received error messages that said my email address was invalid, which it isn't, and that my activation code was invalid, which it also isn't, according to the email sent to me after thke purchase.

When I went to the CyberLink support pages for help, I found no topic that fit. So I tried to send a message to tech support. Only they have support so locked away that IU can't send the message. First I couldn't log into the site...invalid email, it said. I found a workaround, found the message site, typed in everything. Except...because I can't activate the software, I can't get the elusive and essential SR code, whatever that is. Without that code, you are forbidden to send a message to tech support. Which is odd, because I'm sending a message about my inability to activate the software, which more or less guarantees that no SR code will be available.

I don't think I've ever seen this kind of thing before...so many hurdles to jump over, all of them looping back to failure.

I'm not even sure that there's a way to get a refund.

Very, very disappointing. Does anyone on this forum have a way for me to break through these barriers to actually use the software?

Hi, I can submit ticket to contact cyberlink support team at their support center after signing in a cyberlink account (free to register): https://www.cyberlink.com/support/index.html

If you can post questions here on cyberlink forum, you can use this account to submit the contact too.
Just select any question type (if you don't want to figure them out further), fill in the subject and description, and leave the SR number or product key field empty on the web form, and then submit the questions.

You don't have to fill in any SR number nor product key on the form to send out the contact. They are not *required fields.
If you can't submit the form it means that there are other fields not yet selected or filled in.

What you need is calm down, and keep a little more patience to go through the contact process.
No one is blocking you from contacting the support actually.
Quote I have a 5.1 surround + subwoofer setup on my computer. Whenever intense / loud scenes occur in movies, all of the speakers start to pop, buzz, and tone as if they're being plugged in while powered on (you know that sound). If the sound is too intense the speakers will even go dead for a few seconds.

***This happens with no other media / applications.

My audio settings in PowerDVD 20 are as follows:

Output: System Default (6 Speaker)

Output Mode: No Effect

Dynamic Range Compression: Compressed dynamic range Dolby Digital sound for normal environments

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

You plugged the speakers via several 3.5mm AUX cables directly?

I might try de-selecting the truetheater "audio" effect on the truetheater panel. The panel can be opened by right clicking the eye icon at the playback bar.

This effect sometimes enlarges the sound excessively on intensive scences.

A healthy cinicism is not a bad thing.

Hi PDWhite,

No offense, but I don't think your opinion comes any way in healthy, but make this concern more aggresive like saying:

"Hey, there is an issue in your software, fix it better right now. Otherwise, I will gather others users to make more complaints." even though a possible time frame has been announced in the moderator's reply.

By the way, DTS audio is not a significant matter that "all of users" concerned or love to use in their production.

If the source material is recorded in 2ch stereo, producing the project with 5.1 channel audio might make the video more "artificial and fake". Anyway, it won't make the production perfect because of the audio engineering limitation.

I acknowledged that it is fancy to encode the videos with DTS audio, but does it always come with realistic benefits?

Every user has their own opinion and expressed here.
And, the above is mine.
Quote Hi!
PowerDVD 20 Ultra with the latest patch (PowerDVD_20.0.2325.62_GM3.5_Patch_DVD200907-14) installed on Windows 10 Pro x264.
My media files -movies and tv series- are all stored on usb external drives and they are in x264 and x265 format. PowerDVD 20 imports ALL my x264 video files but not the x265 files. I noticed there is disk activity (blinking light) as it tries to read the folders.

I also have PowerDVD 20 installed on another partition of the same SSD HD (Windows10 Pro x264) and in this case the application imports ALL my video files including the x265 ones.

Any suggestions???
Thanks, George

Mine works fine to import HEVC videos. If the same file set import worked well on one of your partitions, did you install any specific codec software or antivirus/anti-malware software that might break the HEVC file import?

I might try reinstall powerdvd by not keeping personal settings to re-import the movies from scratch to check it out as well.

The instable power supply of USB external drive might also cause the failure or reading loop problem, too.
If both OS are using the same hardware, the power supply issue could be caused by that the related system hardware driver didn't operate properly on one of your Windows 10 installation.

fyr
What's your language settings of powerdvd program layout?

Have you updated powerdvd to the latest version using the patches?
I guess there could be some congestion on thier download server.
If you try again later, perhaps the download or installation would start normally.
At least, all of my platforms worked fine, and no issues when installing or updating.
Understood that you want to install powerdvd right away after you bought it.

But, just wait for a bit more hours or days with certain patience when you contact cyberlink.
I believe that it is not an over-asking on this Christmas shopping and extremely terrible season as the COVID-19 outbreak got much worse and most of companies are running their business with relatively limited resources.

Perhaps you can try the installation on other platforms if you have other PCs as well.
Quote OK, just installed 20. For some weird reason both the base installer and the update try to remove all my USB devices!!

Thanks to the OP here: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/82443.page, as I have spent the last hour scanning for viruses. In my case, I didn't get stuck at 96% though. The obvious symtpoms is my mouse dying as the receiver is disconnected, plus a long list of warnings in the event log. Also, when I restarted afterwards there was a process called "testing some devices", which I think comes from Cyberlink.

Anyway, this shouldn't happen and needs to be fixed. Rather nerve-wrecking.

Hi

As I mentioned in other posts, I didnt enocunter the same issue on all of my Windows 10 platforms.

For the process "testing some devices", it should be the process on Window OS, but not from a software player installation.

I'm wondering if you have plugged tons of USB or any external devciecs on your PC simultaneously, and the hardware or its driver cannot operate or restart normally while powerdvd was installing on Windows which caused your devcie cannot work further and the software installation hang accordingly.

You may consider contacting their customer support if you are looking for some technical assistance.
Quote I have numerous DVD movies that are ripped to my hard drive in the form of VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS.

From the Media Library Movies/TV on some DVD's I get a choice for Upload to Cloud, Share on Local Network, Play To etc. when I right click on movie.

Why is that?

The video disc, disc folder and disk image files are not sharable or streaming-able on network or cloud.
My BDMV (DRM-free) folders all played fine in powerdvd.

Are your BDMV folder a complete one, which is not lack of any pieces of data?

My BDMV disc folder contains the following subfolders at least:
AUXDATA
BACKUP
BDJO
CLIPINF
JAR
META
PLAYLIST
STREAM

And these two metedata files are located at the root folder separately:
index.bdmv
MovieObject.bdmv

If your BD folder does contain all of the above folders and files, are those files properly produced by your authoring program?

I know another WinDVD might be capable of playing the folder you produced, but if the folder is not a complete or proper one, it is not surprised the folder cannot be played normally in powerdvd.

How about the playback in the latest poweredvd 20 version?

If you bring the folder to other PCs, which are not installed with NVIDIA Quadro GPU, does the folder play fine?
Quote PowerDVD 20 always "Resumes from last scene", regardless whether the setting being "Start from beginning" or "Prompt before".
My previous version 11 never had this problem; it always started from the main menu.

Is this a bug? Is there a Registry entry I can modify?

I'd prefer to stick with Version 20, than roll back to 11 just for that feature, but it's annoying when you start a DVD and you're not expecting sound right away.

Thanks for your help.

Set the resume setting as "Prompt before" in powerdvd's settings.

Go to start the DVD playback in powerdvd's Movies/TV library.
(Do not launch the .ifo file or use any other ways to start the playback.)

Then, click "Restart" but not resume on the playback startup page to play the DVD, the playback should enter the main menu after it started.

Well, I just tried the new patch. It failed to a BSOD, EVEN FASTER than the old one. It didn't get nearly as far before it took my system down. You would have to try hard to find a Win10 system more up to date than mine, and I've not had any other install fail this way. If support will ever allow it, I will be happy to provide them with documentation. A queestion - why don't they ever ask for a dump??

I didn't encounter the same crash on all of platforms I have (2 laptops and 1 desktop, all of them are Windows 10)

Because BSOD is a usually sort of Windows system or hardware driver crash on your platform, I'm afraid no matter they ask for your dump log or not, it won't help your case at all.

It seems there are some hardware drivers or devices on your platform didn't work stably during a standard software installing.
I really don't think you will get any actual help if you keep asking them to investigate a Windows system crash error.

You'd better ask Microsoft to check this Windows BSOD crash, or ask your PC and hardware vendors for help to look into the dump log if you have dumped any.
For the root cause why after YouTube updated, the 3rd-party players (e.g., powerdvd) cannot play the videos then, I think it is due to YouTube does not offer an official way to allow other 3rd-party players to access its videos online without showing advertisements.

Google YouTube and Cyberlink are two different companies running business on their own.
Yep, cyberLink should keep the functionality of this online feature as possible.

But, don't take it for granted that they should be responsible for making you able to play YouTube videos without any advertisements. It might come to an end if YouTube blocks the current access completely.

The best and official way for not getting any advertisements when watching YouTube videos: Subscribing YouTube premium.
Play a fair game and pay YouTube.
Quote After installing new driver video card Radeon HD7770 win7-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.10.1-oct19.exe my Power DVD 20 didn't even start after clicking his starting icon. Before this driver install, program work pefectly i smoothly. Whats going on?

If you think it is caused by the new version GPU driver, you can try uninstall the current version driver, and then install the previous version to check it out.

AMD website also offers previous driver versions to let you restore:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-7000-series/amd-radeon-hd-7770-ghz-edition

Or, you can contact cyberlink support directly to troubleshoot the case.
Avast Cleanup Premium will screw up your Cyberlink software installation.

I understood it could be my personal experience but who knows if others might encounter the same problem.

The cleanup tool removed my cyberlink software registries and cause lots of content packs and even the main powerdirector cannot be "uninstalled" nor "updated" any more because the installation info have been removed in Windows OS.

I have to reinstall Windows to get everything back and resolve the problems.

You can check this in your installed program list of Windows Settings > Apps, if the icons of cyberlink programs got removed and doesn't display on the installed program list, the installation of the target program might possibly get removed or cleaned by system cleaning related tools.

I know many users might have interests in installing multiple system tuning or cleaner software to keep the PC "HEALTH" and "FAST".
But, lots of craps and even worse malware will be hidden in this sort of system configuration software because you will authorize them to do lots of system adjustments without any hesitation.

Just ask yourself a question if you installed one or multiple system cleaning and tuning tools on your platform:
Have you ever checked and undertood every single registry and file your cleaner software removed that might get related with other programs you installed?

I'm afraid not many users would really know what registry or files will be cleaned by a 3rd-party system cleaner software.
Quote Intel plans to to drop SGX support from its 11th Gen desktop processor lineup, in favor of its full memory encryption implementation (TME/MKTME).

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/02/intel-promises-full-memory-encryption-in-upcoming-cpus/

So how will we now play our 4K Blu-Rays if we're using an 11th Gen Intel system?

CyberLink PowerDVD 20 requires an Intel processor with Intel SGX support. Yet 11th Gen Intel processors will likely have SGX support axed. So, will CyberLink PowerDVD 20 be patched to support Intel's implementation of full memory encryption (TME/MKTME), or will we just have to be forced to upgrade to PowerDVD 21 (if it itself even has TME support)?

You are asking the wrong guy here.

It's not CyberLink nor PowerDVD requires the Intel SGX for the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc playback.

Unfortunately, it's the requirements from the "Blu-ray Disc Association" (which is established by Intel giants and Hollywood movie studios) that requires the playback on PC platform needs the specific technology.

Please send your request or "complaints" to Blu-ray Disc Association to ask them change the requirements to support new things.

Show your power as a consumer, and make them know we (consumer) are the king of the world.
Mine works fine when playing blu-rays.

The hotkeys might only work for the program window you focus on your desktop.
Are there any other programs or tools grabbed the focus of window after you started blu-ray movie playback in powerdvd?
Did you plug multiple monitors to your PCs?

Check them first.
There is an eject button at the bottom right side of the disc drive page in the Movie/TV library,
