My question is that I would like to have the ability to smooth skin/remove wrinkles in my videos. I couldn't find a way to do this in the Essential version . . . is this something that can automatically be done in a paid version of PowerDirector 19 or 365? If not, what is the best plug-in to use in order to perform this function?
Thank you for any help you can provide to this PD newbie!
I have posted a before/after 4k comparison result video on using the NB IV/Skin Touch Up fx in response to a question about it posted on the FB PD Users forum. Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCqwE6ulqjg .

I want to add a blurred border so that the clips blend into each other when having them side by side in the video, thus removing the unnatural sharp edges. A blurred frame if you'd like.
This attached side by side by side video may be what the OP meant by a blurred border in between. This is accomplished with the PiP Designer and an alternative mask that the PM mentioned.

It is also possible that the hard drive is almost full. On one of my PCs where I have hundreds of custom made menus, the menu tab takes a long time to load from a conventional spinning hard drive as they are not stored on a ssd boot drive.
I solve that problem by creating more generic menus that can be reused on a different pc. It may be that you need to put all your titles on a ssd.

Correct, Carl. It is also possible that the imported vob 4:3 clip was stretched previously to 16:9 or with something like clpv was used on the clip to give oblong sides. The OP did not follow up. PiP Designer tool with maintain aspect ratio unchecked would give the freedom to do whatever is necessary.

The NewBlue Essentials 1 /Video Tuneup included with PD19 will give a high contrast B&W video. The NewBue Essentials VII /Video Tuneup Plus included in PD18 with the Saturation setting set to 50 will give a warm dark tone similar to the result from the PowerDirector Moderator.

I began the tutorial on keyframes from Cyberlink (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFXaP-EhQZs&t=44s), which starts by having you drag an fx onto an fx track.
I added an FX track, but I cannot drag an fx onto it. It grabs the fx, and then when I drag it down - nothing.
Thoughts, please?
Thank you~
In that YT tutorial, a clip has to be on the video track. It can be a video clip or an image like Icefall.png on track 1 in order to allow an fx to be allowed to be dragged to the fx track underneath it in the tutorial. Things may have changed since PD9 10 years ago.

You can placw as many copies of the clip on the audio track as you want end to end. Some clips may not appear right unless you trim both ends to make it appear continuous.
|
|
Try this: Take any clip in the library and place it in the timeline where you want some space and choose Insert and move all clips. With the same clip highlighted choose Remove and leave gap.

I really appreciate your helping out. Sorry to be so dense but how do you calculate 26 frames? And how did you arrive at that figure?
I did change the frame rate to 30 fps.
Your posted YouTube video is 8 seconds long. Assuming 30 frames per second. Expand the timeline ruler to see the first few seconds clearly. 26 frames is about ⅞ of a second. The audio starts out late when looking at that video clip.
Move the video to the right about ⅞ second relative to the audio as shown by optodata. You can make smaller adjustments, say 10 frames, then 5 frames, then 2 frames, then 1 frame by holding down the Alt key and tapping the left and right arrow keys to adjust the highlighted video portion 1 frame at a time. Repeat in the left or right direction and recheck until you see lip sync.
Hope this makes it easier. You will know the same amount of frames to move the next time.

I have PD 16. Where is the tool to convert a file in the program? I didn't know it had one. All I know is that when I brought in the quicktime movie, there was no soundtrack. Thanks. Angela
The information for editing mov files in PD16 has already been given long ago in this thread. Using the free old version of Power2Go 11; Go to Media Converter/Video to Mobile Device/ Browse and do Drag n Drop of the files you want to convert/ Hit Next and follow the instructions and get a low resolution mp4 file from it suitable for a low price cell phone. This will not work if Apple Quicktime is not installed.
Mov files can be edited directly in PD16 only if the Apple Quicktime in the 3rd post by Carl312 of this thread is installed on your pc. It is possible that this won’t work on your pc because you have the Deluxe instead of the Ultra or Ultimate version of PD16. I believe that this may be the reason neither user you addressed wants to give you a definite answer. It may be better for you to either start a New Topic post or contact Cyberlink support for the best answer. The answer you get may or not be the same if you are unwilling to install Apple Quicktime.

You may want to install an apple quicktime component to get the codec to edit the mov files not suggested by some users.

The issue you posted has been in the forum before but can’t find it in a search. I use Imgburn for burning from a PD created folder which gives the same layer break error in the past.
Found that the Cyberlink Power2Go free versions can burn a 8.5 GB disc properly. After that Imgburn worked properly from then on. Prefer to use Imgburn as burn speed, verify, and other features are selectable and available but not in P2Go. I believe that maybe just leaving P2Go installed adds something that is missing in the disc burning that allows 3rd party software like Imgburn to work properly with PD created folders.
|
|
It is not necessary to check Save as disc image as it duplicates Create a folder. Have you tried Burn to disc yet… I had exactly the same problem with the 8.5 GB disc using a 3rd party burner software 10 years ago. No problem now…

The audio in the clip is Dolby Digital 5.1 which is not supported in PD19/365. You can get the audio to work two different ways. One is to remove the last Windows 10 update or apply the Hotfix posted in the sticky section : https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/84986.page .
|
|
You should use the software that came with the device to do the capture. Please read this sticky: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/77190.page and supply a screen snapshot of the PD15 Capture screen with the device connected, powered up with the camcorder connected and rolling.

Thank you for the screenshots. I was able to duplicate that the screen5,jpg shows a Black and White Negative transition following the image on the left. See the attached screenshot. That is the X-Ray transition. I was able to cycle it out by doing exactly what I posted earlier. Another way would be to right click on the slideshow on the timeline and choose Remove Slideshow Effects after finding this in the preview. It is possible that you have this transition in the My Favorites to cause this problem.
If you are not able to achieve the results desired then it is best that you do the slideshow manually. Place the desired images from the library room to the timeline in the order you want them. Set the image time duration that you want. Open the transition room and choose Apply Random transitions. Preview the timeline. If that X-Ray transition is seen then simply drag a different transition from the transition room in its place.

It is possible that no one has experienced your issue before. Please read this sticky : https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/77190.page and supply a screenshot of your timeline. It is possible that your slideshow is not on track 1 and/or you are using one of the transitions that Tony listed as having such behavior. The fix would be to change that one transition. Every Time you you try a different slideshow style and go back to the Normal style that you are using then a different transition should be in that troubled spot.
It is also possible to have the same issue if you are producing with SVRT. See this thread: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48021.page .

You did not say which aspect ratio is the video that you are trying to put on a DVD. The 110 minutes should fit with the SP and EP quality settings.
For 16:9 aspect ratio videos you need to produce the video with a custom profile of 4000 Kbps. Place this on a timeline, author and burn to a dvd or just create a folder. Use no hardware encoding.
Your old 180 minute videos can fit a dvd if you use the EP settings.

Thank you for supplying the DxDiag.txt. The problem is what I see all the time on any pc with an old windows operating system. Windows 7 does not support the orientation flag used in any software, videos or photos. See this previous post on the same issue: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/82871.page .
VLC on windows 7 will not display portrait videos properly from phones that use the orientation flag but will do so on windows 10.
The good news is that your pc qualifies to be upgraded to windows 10 for free to solve this problem. You can contact the pc manufacturer for the upgrade or get it from Microsoft if you want to do it yourself.

Warry covered what needs to be done pretty well. You can go ahead and restore the backup as is. The Drive C 128 GB ssd is too small for anything other than Windows and a few programs. Afterwards you can move the allowed folders like the users Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos folder over to the internal D 1 TB drive to gain more free space on the Drive C if desired. Nothing wrong with browsing for assets on a project. I usually only need to browse once to cover all missing assets since they are usually in one folder.
In Windows 10, I had to disable the default One Drive backup to accomplish this so this may not be for you.
