I have a project in the latest PD 365 that is essentially 13 imported projects in the create disc content list. I can export a blue ray disk just fine but I have issues when exporting a DVD. I know... who uses DVD in 2021. Still, I have a few requests for them.

I have selected the 8.5 size and use smart fit otherwise it its 9GB and over the limit. The export works fine and there are no errors in PD however when i try to burn the iso file or folder structure imgburn gives the following error.

E 22:14:19 Unable to find any cells that could be used for the layer break!
E 22:14:19 The minimal size of this image is 4092659 sectors.
E 22:14:19 The layer break must be between sectors 2005747 and 2086912.
E 22:14:19 Sector 2005747 falls within VTS_07 (Title), which starts at sector 1592087.
E 22:14:19 Relative to the start of VTS_07 (Title), the layer break must be between sectors 413660 and 494825.
E 22:14:19 Relative sector 413660 falls within PGC 1, Cell 1, which starts at relative sector 0 and ends at 979162.
E 22:14:19 Relative to the start of Cell 1, try splitting between sectors 413660 (807.93 MiB) and 494825 (966.46 MiB).
E 22:14:19 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:41:08

Has anyone come across this? I have attached a screen of the output settings.

Thanks

It is not necessary to check Save as disc image as it duplicates Create a folder. Have you tried Burn to disc yet… I had exactly the same problem with the 8.5 GB disc using a 3rd party burner software 10 years ago. No problem now…

I did both to test if it was the iso creation or folder generation. I usually perfer the folder since the iso has the character limit in PD.

Also if I remove any combination of projects from the content section to make it under the size limit and do not use smart render it does work with ingburn on the DL disks without that error.

What disk burning software would you recomend.

I typically use the folder structure output to burn blue-ray or DVD discs from. I like to archive the iso files so i will create them from the folder structure.

Thanks

The issue you posted has been in the forum before but can’t find it in a search. I use Imgburn for burning from a PD created folder which gives the same layer break error in the past.

Found that the Cyberlink Power2Go free versions can burn a 8.5 GB disc properly. After that Imgburn worked properly from then on. Prefer to use Imgburn as burn speed, verify, and other features are selectable and available but not in P2Go. I believe that maybe just leaving P2Go installed adds something that is missing in the disc burning that allows 3rd party software like Imgburn to work properly with PD created folders.

I also liked the advanced features of imgburn and that handy iso image name change without re-creating it. I will give Power2Go a try. I also just found BurnAware Free. Have you ever used the latter?
