a cheap DVD-R disc is more suitable for give-away.
btw, mp3 is a music format while mp4 is a movie format. they're not the same.

OOPS ! I meant to type mpg2. Sorry.
Just a comment first - regular DVD players will play mp3 files normally. They will not play mp4 discs.

To burn an mp4 file, treat the disc as a data disc. Some players would see the data disc and play it.

You can also try using a thumb drive if the file is large. Thumb drives are inexpensive, can contain a lot of data, and are more rugged.
rlmierau:

1) What kind of files are you trying to import?
2) What is the source?
3) dxdiag, exe run it (see next bulleted number) and attach the text file (not the individual lines of text)
4) Read this;; also scroll down for information on the dxdiag.exe file.
5) You probably have a bad install because of the active antivus. Repair or reinstall the program WITH THE ANTIVIRUS TURNED OFF.
Tell us more about the files you are trying to import and all about your computer via dxdiag.exe. If you have Windows 10, it is easy; a little more difficult with previous Windows versions. Use Windows to get help.

Did you have your antivirus active during the install?
Quote Helo, can anyone tell me why my downloaded Title Templates do not show up in my Power Director

Which one? I had the same trouble and it turned out that the person uploading it didn't do it correctly so some needed subparts items were missing.
Did you remember to turn off your antivirus when you installed the update?
near the end of the dxdiag.exe there are several major errors listed including a couple of blue screen errors. You should try to fix those. Also for PowerDVD 18, you should read this.:

Quote Yeah, it's got to be a DVD I'm afraid as it'll be given to the parents of the dancers on the show.

I've just checked and last years show was on a single layer DVD and that ran for 120 minutes. The quality isn't that bad either so I wonder how they did it?

DL (double layer) DVD ? Most DVD players will handle them. More of a question +R or - (dash) R. I did the same thing with a dance concert and had to make both

Edit "that bad" reminds me of the Tv commerciasl - its OK Do you want to be known as an OK videographer or something that is better then OK?

How many dancers? Perhaps thatycan chip in the $2.00 (US) for the thumb drive or just provide them for you.
You can get it to fit BUT the quality may be terrible.

Have you considered a double layer DVD if you must have a DVD?

Is it possible that a memory stick would work? They are cheap, more foolproof etc. that DVD Many modern TVs have a jack for a memory stick.
Quote Unless the tutorials I am viewing are the wrong ones, I can't find out how to use the software. Most of what I've been watching is just a review of the features or a commercial for the program (which I have already purchased).

Please guide me in the right direction.

Please guide us toward the correct version of the software bith the number and the level. You posted in the section of the forum that covers all older versions of Power Director.

Open your version and look for the icon in the upper left side, copy and paste that here. If you have an OEM (freebie/teaser version) then the only instructions are those in the program.

I was hoping for better compatibility within Windows 10. Now, when I try & play .AVI files powerdvd 18 crashes on me. THere are no answers for this anywhere I can find. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling to no avail. This issue has been happening since Powerdvd 17. I can play DVDs and Blu-rays just fine. AND VLC media player plays the files that Powerdvd cannot for me. Its just a shame I pay out my money for a software with glitches.

Contact Cyberlink Technical Service with your written complaint? Even if someone else has reported the issue, the more the complaints increases the importance.

There is no guarantee that 19 will have it addressed.

Are the AVI files yours or readily available on-line? The reason I asked is that I only have one old avi file on my computer and it plays fine with 18. but it was made with an early version of a video editing program.

I tried downloading a high speed camera avi and it would not play.

I know that this doesn;t answer your complaint and you have other ways of playing the avi but is it possible that you do want to convert the avi to something ese?
Quote when is PowerDVD 19 coming out?

Why? What do you expect/want from it?
Quote Pls help. Thanks

Hank123, you have posted several times relating to issues with previous versions and now with PowerDirector 17.

I previous posts, you were given links to required information needed to diagnose your problems; for example this You never responded. We don't know if you ever solved your problem or not, If you did, we don't know how.

Please provide the needed information and never put your whole information in the title of your post. Use Google Translate if you are having a problem posting in English. If you can't use Google Translate, post in your native language and we can use the translator.

Thank you for the reply. I am able to open the file in Power Director but it's very hard to move photos around because it puts you in the Timeline edit mode. Ideally, I'd like to be able to go back in the photo slideshow mode where I can easily drag & drop photos around, then resave it again. The timeline edit mode is very complicated and hard to navigate. Is there a way to open the file back up and do all the edits in Slideshow mode (move photos, add music, add photos), then save again? That would be perfect!

Tom

In the menu near the top, go to "view" and then select "Storyboard view." The individual imaqges will appear in a block pattern. You can select and move as you like. Make sure there are no blank blocks when you are finished.
Are you trying to edit the slide show? You can't do it very easily !.

Open the project ; it is a " .pds " file and edit that. You should be able to open the project from PowerDirector or search for it on your computer and then right click to open with Power Director.
Quote I'm thinking my chromebook may not be an effective tool for editing videos. Perhaps a windows 10 machine would be better. But would a low priced laptop work as long as it had sufficient storage?

Appreciate any recommendations, thank you.

Ian

You also need a good processor and a good graphics processor. Perhaps the old Windows Video program would be better for you.

Look at the minumum specs and DO NOT go less than those preformance specs. Look here.
Have you considered a thumb drive - cheap and can be erased/editied, etc.

What version of Power2Go are you using?

What do you plan to do with the disc?

What application in P2G have you selected? If you are just saving the files and do not need a slide show, select "Data Disc" The PhotoGallery disc is essentially a slide show video disc.
Quote PhotoDirector 9 - 4 photos = 15 seconds. Ridiculous.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

It would be much better to start your own thread rather than to add to a 2 plus year old thread. Please describe your computer (dxdiag.exe if you are using W10), and exactly how you are using the program. Where are your images - internal or external hard drive, memory stick, etc? The more information, the better.

Thanks
Quote I downloaded a trial -currently using 9. I have been using the layers, with a layer mask and as I mask I noticed that the program starts to slow, then lags, then catches up. Is there a reason for this? My 9 does that too when i'm in the develop module working with an adjustment mask, the more I do they more it lags and needs to catch up? I have 16gbs memory and more than enough HDD space.

Thoughts?

Please post the Windows dxdiag.exe text file for your computer.
It would help if you tell us which version of Color Director you have. Also what Video Editor are you using (the latest version of PowerDirector allows you to use LUT).

Also I assume you looked at all the videos covering Color Director in the Cyberlink Learning center? Look also at the Webinars that are listed here.
