I just got the software, PowerDirector 12 (Full Version and Easy Editor) and every single time I try to import a media file I get an error message that the software has stopped working (and it shuts down the program). How can I get this fixed so I can actually use the software?

Thanks!

Tell us more about the files you are trying to import and all about your computer via dxdiag.exe. If you have Windows 10, it is easy; a little more difficult with previous Windows versions. Use Windows to get help.

Did you have your antivirus active during the install?

rlmierau:

1) What kind of files are you trying to import?
2) What is the source?
3) dxdiag, exe run it (see next bulleted number) and attach the text file (not the individual lines of text)
4) Read this;; also scroll down for information on the dxdiag.exe file.
5) You probably have a bad install because of the active antivus. Repair or reinstall the program WITH THE ANTIVIRUS TURNED OFF. .
