Hi,

I just tested with a bunch of my older files, and found that all of my MKV files play with subtitles without issue. However, for an AVI file I have, I had to drag and drop the subtitle file on the UI to get it working. I mentioned that in the first post, but you never indicated whether you tried it or not. Can you try dragging and dropping the subtitle file on the video once the video is playing?

I don't have any MP4 files here to try it out unfortunately, but will try later at home.

Dave
Hi,
That's strange. I've never had problems displaying srt sub files in PowerDVD. Did you try just draggin and droppin them onto the UI?

Also, what is the format of the video you trying to play them on?

Dave
Hi,

I just tested this and successfully added a custom background images for each of my menu pages. I then burned the disc and it played back as expected. Also, I don't find the PowerDirector Create Disc slow AT ALL...this on a computer that is not as "powerful" as yours.

What this says it that is most likely something else is conflicting with PowerDirector on your computer, or drivers are way out of date, etc.

Best way to figure it out is to:

  1. Provide the exact steps you take to get this crash. For example, which stretch mode did you choose? What kind of photo?

  2. Attach your DXDiag.txt file. This will provide a lot of insight about your computer.

  3. Contact CL Tech Support. If they have seen other users that have encountered this, you will quickly get a solution.

Dave
Hi,
Everything you are asking about can be found here:

https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-video-movie-editor/features_en_US.html

Maliek and his videos will help you to get started creating videos.

The program does lots of things, but it's up to you to get creative and learn how to do it. Takes practice, so you should also check out:

There are other people on this forum who create videos, so you can find almost any video editing tutorial you are lookig for now. I don't know anything about coupons, but maybe the subscription version is right for you, so you can quit the subscription if it doesn't work out for you?

Dave
Yes and yes.
Hello,

Sure...why not? Are you daying you upgraded from PowerDVD 14 to 17? If yes, all you need to keep for later at most is your product key.

Dave
Hi,

CyberLInk has a 30 day refund policy, so you can return your purchase and then buy the Director Suite 365. Just contact customer service about it.

Please note though that your purchase is the perpetual license, but the new version of Director Suite is subscription only.

Dave
Hi,

As far as I can see, the delete function is only available in the right click menu, i.e. you need a mouse to delete an episode. Actually, you can also use a keyboard if you have one connected.

Dave
Hi,
Sounds like a graphics driver issue. When was the last time you updated it? Go to the NVIDIA web site and download the latest version. Or AMD or whereever it is from.

Dave
Hello,

The differences betweem PC Mode and TV Mode are basically as the names suggest. However, if you are connecting via an HDMI cable and using Miracast to play PowerDVD content on the extended device (TV), then this is only available in PC Mode.

In this case you use PowerDVD on your computer to access media content, and when you click play, the content plays on the extended device. See the help for details.

Dave
Hello,

PowerDVD 9 is a very old version, and it sounds like the AACS keys on the disc have expired, so they will not play correctly, as you are now experiencing.

If this is the full retail version of 9 Ultra, go here and get a free update to PowerDVD 12:

https://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_US.html

You need to scroll down the PowerDVD 9 section and click the "here" link to get it.

Note that once you update to version 12, you need to update that version to the latest 8705 patch.

You also need to note that PowerDVD 9 and 12 do not support Windows 10, which may cause issues during installation if you upgrade to 10.

Dave
Hello,

These are the two 360º related features that were added in PowerDVD 18.

- Stream live YouTube videos and play 360° Vimeo videos.
- View multiple angles simultaneously while viewing 360° videos and photos.

Dave
Thanks for all the info and making it clear.

Did you open the application manager launcher and get the latest patch update for PowerDVD 18 Live? The latest version is 1619.

A 3D compatibility issue has been reported and I heard that a patch was coming soon, so check the launcher for updates often, or come back to the forum as the mod posts it at the top telling you it is there.

For the crop to fill issue, I am not sure why it is not working for you. You say you are using a projector, but that is not what you are referring to right? You mean when playing on your PC or laptop monitor? "Crop to fill is for watching 2:35:1 Blu-ray movies on an ultra wide 21:9 monitor" (quote from help). It is not designed for a projection onto a wall.

Dave
Hi,

PowerDVD 8.3 doesn't support Windows 10 or DirectX 12. It is too old, as it was released in 2008 or something. If you had PowerDVD installed when you ugraded Windows it may have worked, but wasn't fully compatible.

Dave
Hello,

Have you updated PowerDVD to the latest version? There have been bug fixes in the past for stuff similar to this I believe.

https://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_US.html

Dave
Hi,

You can see this link for detailed information on what hardware is supported.

https://www.cyberlink.com/support/faq-content.do?id=19860

It says the only Asus motherboards that support UHD BD are:

Asus Prime Z270-A (4K but no HDR support)
Asus Z270-WS

So it seems like your assessment that it doesn't support SGX might be correct, which is required for UHD BD playback.

Dave
Hi,

What does "true full screen" mean? How about providing exact details of your setup and what you are trying to do?

Dave
Hi,
Yes of course it does. It works similar to when it is on mobile or embedded on a web page.
Dave
Hello,

I believe this is what AudioDirector is for in Director Suite. In that program you can edit multi-track audio on video. PowerDirector's audio editing is outsourced to AudioDirector or WaveEditor.

Dave
Hello,

Did you update your PowerDVD 12 to the latest version? A new patch update was released near the end of April:

https://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_US.html

You should also update your graphics card, as that has a bigger affect on video image quality. Make sure you do that continually.

Dave
Hi,
Sounds like you disc drive firmware may need updating, as this and your GPU driver need to be updated to play Blu-rays conitnually. See this as example:
