Press the Z key on your keyboard to go to full screen. If it is not working for you, there must be an issue with your GPU card, so ensure you are using the latest version.

As for the update notifications, you can disable them in General settings. Just deselect "Check for product update information".

Dave
Yes, I get the same results as you for colour boards and custom colours. I would say for sure the first one is a bug, as media file aliases are saved with the project. Not sure the second one is technically a bug per se. From what I remember the custom colors were never saved in any of the CyberLink color pickers in any of its software. I just checked my version of Label Print for example, and same results. I checked Word and it does save colours in "Recent Colours" area.

Either way, it would be beneficial to have these features for sure in saved projects.

Dave
I think you are off about your take on the CL management. They moved towards web help a year ago and it would have had nothing to do with this bug you found in a different company's software (i.e. it is not a CyberLink bug).

As mentioned, as a long time PowerDVD and Director Suite user, I have never encountered or heard of this issue before. And obviously neither had CyberLink's customer service based on your experience. So somehow believing that their management knew about a bug in a third party software is a huge leap.

Moving from an exe help file (which can cause logistical issues with file size in builds and antivirus software scans) to a help that is deployed on a web server is more out of enhanced services and not about a different companies bug.

Dave
The post you are referring to on the updates page is for retail versions of PowerDVD Ultra. Your build number suspects me to believe you have an OEM version, i.e. you got it with your computer or optical disc drive. Is this correct?

For OEM versions, it depends on the PC or device manufacturer whether you are entitled to the free update to version 12. See this FAQ for more information:

You are also best to contact Cyberlink customer support to find out if you qualify.

Good luck

Interesting...thanks for the effort. Hopefully the fix will get in a future patch. I see they have moved towards deploying their help on the web though.

I could not duplicate the first one, trying two different methods. I obviously could not duplicate it exactly, because I don't have your project. But I tried using freeze frame after splitting and it worked as expected.

However, for the other two issues it was easily duplicated. To add to it, if you delete the back half of the split clip, the behaviour is the same. Something is definitely off about that.

Dave
Not in PowerDirector Android, but you can definitely do this in PowerDirector.

Dave
If you bought it from the CyberLink store, then you need to contact their CS department with the below link to get a new download link:

The mouse cursor is still shown when using Screen Recorder, even in the latest stand alone version when recording a game or other device. It cannot be turned off unfortunately. And the user you refer to in your post was banned I believe for such off topic musings.

Dave
Hmmm, seems like there is still a compatibility issue or some configurations are not quite right. At this point it is best to contact technical support I would guess.

Dave
PowerDVD 12 is not fully supported under Windows 10, as it was released before it came out. So trying to install a patch update may result in these types of errors. Probably what is going on.

I might suggest reinstalling Windows or upgrading to a later version of PowerDVD, but am sure you don't want to hear that, so I won't.

Earlier today I managed to fix the first problem I had (error 01003), I followed this forum post: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/78411.page and changed my secondary 4K monitor to primary monitor in Windows Display Settings.

My monitor is connected to Intel HD Graphics 630 with the latest driver from February installed. And my second monitor is connected to Nvidia GTX 1080 also with the latest drivers.

However, Netflix streams in 4K with no problems which means I meet all the 4K requirements successfully so I am confused why PDVD won't work.

In short, you are saying you are using your secondary monitor (which you made your primary monitor) to watch the UHD BD, but it is connected to an NVIDIA GPU, which does not support UHD BD playback. Check the system requirements:
https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd-ultra/spec_en_US.html?affid=2581_1326_540

FYI, UHD BD requirements are a lot more strict than streaming Netflix via a browser or an app. Mainly because some people find away to rip the discs.

A user created a tutorial explaining this in this thread. Not exactly the same, but should be enough to get you going:

I've never seen or heard of this, so I don't have a suggestion. In the meantime, you can download the user guide for version 17, which is the same content: http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/user_guide/powerdvd/17/17pdvd/PowerDVD_ENU.pdf

Dave
Well let's be real here. The problem is with your PC, not the software. Vast majority of users do no encounter the issue you are, so you should be posting about the deficiency of your computer, not the middle man. Also, most software companies charge for phone support, but you can get it resolved for free using CyberLin's responsive CS system.

That being said, if you followed the instructions in the readme and provide the requested information (especially the DXDiag file), you could probably get the help you need here to fix your issue.

So why don't you try and do that?

Dave
Depending on how much of your footage has the propellers, you can try use the Crop & Zoom tool in PowerTools. Or you can find a good frame of sky in your footage, take a screenshot and then PiP it in on the second track. I saw a video explaining how to do that in another video edit program, and it works great.

Dave
If you building the slideshow on the timeline directly, you can go to the Effects Room and then use the Blur effect to do exactly what you explained.

After adding the blur on the image, select it in the timeline and then click modify. In there you can make the blur circular, adjust its position, and then invert it to blur around the circle you created.

Dave
What media are you trying to cast to your Roku? Is your computer and Roku both connected to the same Wi-Fi?

You can also check out this FAQ to answer all your questions:

The translation from CS speak is that it is too big a fix to fix quickly and too risky to fix in PowerDirector 17, so they will fix for the next version (most likely). All my years working in software development related jobs I see this quite often and it makes sense.

I understand it is important to you, but this feature has been in the last 3 or 4 versions of PowerDirector and you are the first to find this bug (I think). So I am sure that would lower the priority as well.

Dave
Do you have any video examples of what you used to do? Not sure what you mean by make a cube. Any old vids on YouTube?
