Lots of information is shared in the forums from users who pursue to fix issues that may not be in the official documentation. The findings are not usually objected to by CyberLink. This article is the findings of this author who found that one could install in on 3 to 4 computers before you get a warning: https://homestudioexpert.com/can-you-install-powerdirector-on-multiple-computers/ . This is found to work by other users in other forums too. Two should be okay as long as you sign out of the one you are not currently using.
You may not be alone with disappearing project files. Here is a recent post where all of the project(.pds) files disappeared. It seems to have happened to at least two users and at least one has the solution: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/108031.page .

Go to the autosave folder and look at the extension of the files. You may have only a few since you haven’t worked on the project for a while. Let us know what the extension is. Change that extension to .pds and it should work.

In your normal save folder, check for your project file name. Since the extension is not .pds, change one of them and see if it works okay now as a project file.

If the above solves the issue, then you need to let CyberLink support know about this. I have not seen this on my PD365 yet so I can’t report an issue that I don’t have. Let them know that the copied .pds files to the normal folder that you use disappears when you close the program. That does seem strange and needs to be fixed.
The first time I save a project in any PD version, I look at the path and change it from the default My Documents to My Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\20.0 for PD21/365. This is to keep the path different for each version of PD. It may be possible that a different path was used for the .pds files. Try this: Do a file search for .pds in Documents first to see the paths. If this is not successful then do the search D:\ . Do a search in C:, F: . Unless the pds file was saved in a volatile area like the autosave folder that some users have mistakenly used for saving project files, they should not be deleted. Go to the Preferences/Project/Autosave. Look at the autosave path to be sure that that is not the path you used to save your project (.pds) files.

Load something on the timeline. Do a File/Save as… and note the path. Is it the path you always use?? Or is it to a different folder.

Anyway trying to figure out why your project files disappear or get deleted without your intervention.
Go to Preferences/File/Export to: Copy the link and post it here as text on your next reply.

Open File manager and tell us what is the drive letter of that external hard drive now and does it changes from time to time. It can if you have something else plugged in to the usb ports.
You may want to try this first: Install that upgrade version of PD19 on the new pc. Enter the key code from the last activation and registration. It works for others if you do a search on this forum. Here is one such post that claimed success: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/47401.page . You only need to install the last PD19 update patch and none of the earlier ones.
Quote helping my son out tonight put together our vacation trip video clips for him to compile for a YouTube video we noticed during clip transitions there would sometimes be a pop/chirp to the audio at the start of a new clip. The only way I could figure to eliminate it was to open the audio editor for the clip, and drag the volume all the way down for the first second or so of audio. This seemed to work ok but it was kind of tedious and I figured there has to be a more simple way to do this for the entire project rather than going clip by clip? Can someone point me in the right direction?

There were audio issues reported when the PD21/365 was released. In PD365 it was fixed after a few program updates that needed to be done. The PD21 can be remedied by installing a patch. See this in the sticky: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/97788.page .It may help if no updates were done.
Jeff has solved another one. While the current PD21 may only work with 1920 pixel videos, the earlier PD20/365 did work with dji 4k UHD 3820 x 2160 videos. See this thread as other contributors got it working: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/86410.page .
Quote First image 16:9(default) - Second image after resizing 9:16 preview (all text is visible) - Third image after export
(in VLC half of the text not visible) and (the product in the video is taller) not like the default one
How can i make the whole text visible and product size in the video is the same as default one in 16:9 preview?

Please be more detailed (Step by Step)

I can't find a video explaining this in youtube

You did not use any of the Windows apps to view the produced video. VLC is a third party media view that does not handle 9:16 aspect video correctly. To get it to view correctly, you need to send them feedback and maybe the developer can fix it if you report it as a bug.

The attached screenshot shows that all the Windows 11 media players display the 9:16 aspect ratio video correctly. The bottom part of the video is no longer missing or cropped. See the red circled title at the bottom for each of them.Order of players in the screenshot from left to right are VLC, WMP classic. Media Player, Movies & TV app. The 3rd party VL player is the only one with a cropped bottom.

The PowerDVD app needs the pc graphics card to be connected to the pc monitor with a hdmi cable or adapter for it to work with Blu-ray videos. That is to prevent video pirates from copying
The last time I tried it was in PD365/20 and it appeared to work. The sample clip is on the timeline. Trying the Nvidia Noise Removal today in PDR365/21 resulted in the error screen in the screenshot. I have no plans to report this to Support as they ask a lot of irrelevant questions without ever testing it on PD365. I am still waiting for them on my last issue. The Nvidia noise removal can be reported by someone who is willing to spend lots of time with them.
Quote Small black screen below video like the preview i check maintain aspect video and the scale now is W0.949 H0.909 when i make the scale H1.000 & auto change W1.044 (cuz checked maintain aspect) it became better but i make a text and put it in the end of the video screen in preview then i find out that's the lower part of the text not visible in vlc and this pissed me off

set clip format + set aspect ratio + the aspect ratio of the video is 9:16 (video is synchronized with project) make the scale by default H1.000 W1.000 and the text still not visible the only way to make everything visible is to make the the scale W0.817 H793
but the screen is small in vlc and i see black screen up and down

Here is the result of resizing the 16:9 AR sample video clip to 9:16. Resizing was done diagonally on the preview screen. PiP Designer was not used. Titles line up on the bottom as selected in Title Designer as it is on a separate track. See the screenshot.
Quote
changed the aspect ratio of the project to 9:16 and unchecked maintain aspect ratio for video in pip desginer and changed scale to 1.000 width and height and i export h.264avc mp4 mpeg-4 1080x1920/30fps (13 mbps) format of disc NTSC profile type Default

same problem exists
i cant see the full aspect ratio of video in vlc like other shorts videos in youtube
The lower part is hidden from the screen

Change the aspect ratio to 9:16 as suggested by RED1. Maintain the aspect ratio. Resize the video to be smaller on the preview screen and crop.
Try this: Check Create a folder only(8172 MB). Use ImgBurn(freeware) to burn to a blank DVD DL disc. You will be unlikely to waste a disc if the size is 98% or less. If you want, use Power2Go to burn the folder to disc and get similar results.

The created folder may already be there for you to burn to disc using either program if you know where to look.
You can check for the HA and preview settings on the PD19. Make the settings the same or lower in PD21 if needed and it should help as it doesn’t happen yet on my pc.
I have never seen the PD3565 version delete any version of PD, even the free one on my pc. Try this: Browse to the PD365 Essential version and open it. Open the project. Make a note of the file location of the project. Open the same project in the PD365 full version and you should be back in business.
Quote Thank you very much for contacting me.
I always edit with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Of course, I also use a 16:9 display.
Is there any solution based on that?[/color]

Google translation left out the standalone BD player settings typically found in U.S. sold units. I will try the Bing translator. The TV should have an aspect ratio of 16:9 and not 4:3. The BD player settings must be wide screen 16:9, and not letterbox, Pan and Scan, or 4:3 to get the menus to work correctly.

You may have created a corrupt menu. Try a standard one instead.

Motion Blur can be accomplished in PD365 in a number of ways. 1. By offsetting an identical clip in track2 by 1 or 2 frames and setting the opacity to 50%, 2.The use of the new fx/Style Effect/Motion Trail and making the same appropriate settings for frame count and opacity, 3. PIP Designer/Motion tab/check Motion Blur for moving objects. Each of these will make the still background sharp while only the moving portion of the video becomes blurred.

There is a Kaleidoscope in the fx. Believe that the OP wants the one in the Mariah Carey Video while may take him weeks or months to create in his spare time
Quote Powerdirector18

This means that the pc monitor that you are using has a different aspect ratio from the TV and BD setup. PD18 was meant to be used with an aspect ratio of 16:9 when creating menus with Menu Designer.

The TV should have an aspect ratio of 16:9 and not 4:3. The BD player settings must be wide screen 16:9, and not letterbox, Pan and Scan, or 4:3 to get the menus to work correctly.

See these posts for users that deviate from the aspect ratio of 16:9 for creating BD or DVD: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/97526.page .You have to use PowerDirector 8 or earlier to create 4:3 menus that work correctly with BD. There are none in the DirectorZone.

Quote I have problems with this kind of audio files, when produce and playback the video MP4 1080 x 1920,, 29fps or other configuration in some parts de audio (in my case music) go off ! I need to stop the play and forward the bad segment and then audio go on, but again in other part of the audio repet the problem.

This is on Powerdirector 20

Try converting those mp3 audio files to wav before using them on the timeline.
Andersonagm - Thank you for your feedback. This information was given 6 months ago on a different PD Users forum. The Op there was not able to achieve the results I got possibly by using a laptop. The members there are able to achieve this using Desktops. Prerendering was not necessary with the Desktop pc’s. This is valuable information you have given to help others that use a laptop pc.
The screenshot from PieroA above is what I had in PD365 6 months ago. It has been updated of cource to what Warry's screenshot show by updating with the Cyberlink Application Manager. It may be different in the Italian versions. Type in a name in the search box to see more desired music in the earlier versions.
The Moderator was not wrong. You didn’t tell him that you wanted to do subtitles on a 195.5 minute video in your previous post. Use an online bitrate calculator and you will find that producing a mpeg-2 file at a Video bitrate of 4000 Kbps and LCPM audio of 1500 Kbps will fit that DVD DL disc in your PD18. Use a custom profile.

In PD18, all you have to do is disable the subtitle track before producing. Put the Produced file butt up at the end of the last clip. Delete everything in front of the Produced file. The created chapters should line up perfectly. Re-enable the subtitle track and check Create a folder in the Final output window and click Start burning. You can then play the folder as a DVD with VLC or PowerDVD. If everything is fine then you can burn that folder with Power2Go or use PowerDirector or Windows to burn to a DVD DL disc. The folder should be between 8 to 8.5 GB in size depending on the menu used.

This is the first time you will attempt to do this so many mistakes may be made along the way. You should add a suffix to each major change and do a save as on the project file so you have backups along the way until you master it. This is the way I do discs.

Hope this help you create the first DVD that you want.
