My converter will not work with Win 8.1 so am looking for another one. What do you suggest?
Not expensive as will only be using it for short while.
Too bad I did not convert all my camcorder tapes earlier.

Thanks. After my fourth video for airing, finally organizing properly.
Forum has been a tremendous help.

When I select Pack Project Materials will the program gather all media and save with the pds file? Or do I have to do the gathering?
Not sure how it works.

Am I right in assuming any audio file can be placed in any audio or music track? And the same with music, it can be place in any audio track? Voice can be placed in audio? Etc.
Have not had the time to experiment for myself on this....so hoping for an answer.

Thank you, Kevin, but I am not intimidated. I am just ignorant of the topic. But it does look like what you are explaining has to do with special effects and has little interest for me right now.
And Carl...again you have come to the rescue. I am not going to waste my time on that issue any longer. If it becomes necessary, then I will pursue it. I truly appreciate your answer.
So I can spend my time studying audio at this point. And so far I have found that Wave Editor sometimes does the job for me whereas Audio Director does not.
My thanks to you both.

Thank you.
Learn something new every day......spend hours on this program. My husband is beginning to resent it! ;-)

Looked at many videos supposedly explaining keyframes. I am in the dark, completely.
It appears that I would only need to understand and use keyframes for effects or animations.
Am I off base? Is it necessary for me to learn more about keyframing for simple videos with no effects?
If so, where to look. All videos take for granted I know what keyframes are.

It's no longer available.
How about putting it on again and alert us, please.

When I try to edit the audio from a video clip, either in Wave Editor or Audio Director, I have two tracks showing. Sometimes the noise I want to eliminate is in the one track. How do I either edit the right track or remove it? I have only been able to work with the left track.
Hope I am making sense. Going crazy with it. I do not find either program does a good job with background noise, but I did find that sometimes the noise is more evident on one track.
Have researched until my head aches. Hope someone has an answer.
Thanks.

Did you see this video?

A little over half way through, it appears to be addressing what you were asking about.
If not, sorry. But I think that is what you are saying.

If I have a clip or two that I am working on, I could place on track 2, work on it there and it still will all run as one video. That is, if I place it so they run consecutively, one on track one and other on track two.
Thank you both.
Will play with it and see what I learn.

What is the point in having two or more video/audio timelines? Wondering if I could use them to my advantage.
Probably getting in way over my head by asking, but I am interested.

I am wondering if I should have moved all clips into one folder before being imported/used.
Once I have saved a project, then is it too late to move all clips to one folder?
Maybe there is a tutorial out there that will address this issue. If so, please direct me to it.
The more I learn, the more there is to learn.
Thanks.

Will the project retain all the changes, enhancements, etc., including transitions, when inserted into another project?
Any suggestions that will save me from reinventing the wheel?

I am taking videos of various events and will eventually combine all. Want to edit each event as its own project. Then when ready to burn final, want to insert each project in proper place in main project. Is there a limit to the number of projects that can be inserted without compromising the final product?

Lowering burn speed.
That did it!!!! Thanks a bunch!
|
|
When I burn shorter videos, 10-20 minutes in length, no problem. But I just burned one close to an hour in length, and had many places where the picture stopped and started again. So then burned same video in safe mode. Same problem.
Is it the length of the video? Can I check anything else? Very discouraging.

Yes, thank you, I have used the Audio Mixing room. And the Wave Editor. I just have not found a way to keep all clips at the same volume. Except by laboriously checking each one out and hoping my hearing is catching it all right.
Had hoped there was a better way than depending on my hearing.
Have not been able to find ANYTHING that explains these step by step. I am able to get a fair adjustment by trial and error.
I have been placing music in the Audio 2 timeline. Is that OK??
When I click on Normalize, do I click on it for each timeline: once for voice, once for music, etc.?

Actually, I first need to know how to adjust audio of a project so volume is fairly even throughout.
Then maybe I can apply that knowledge when I combine two projects.
Have new computer and it is a joy to edit on it.

Don't I feel stupid for not having thought of that for the transfer.
Once that is done, I should be able to delete all those wav and mov files in PD12 folder, shouldn't I?
Will take it one step at a time to make sure I don't delete something important. Although they should all be on my external HDD as I backup daily.
Thanks again.
