Any way to keep them all together????????

Did you just copy the files for PowerDirector from the old computer to the new computer?

If that is what you did, that is incorrect.

The correct way is the install Powerdirector from the original installation files or Disk on the new computer.

Then all of the parts of PowerDirector will be installed in the correct locations.

Guess I wasn't too clear. I installed as I should. But wanted the project I was working on transferred to the new computer so I could continue with it.

That's where I ran into trouble. Some files were in the folder I made and others in a PowerDirector 12 folder.

What I don't like is, there are files in that PD12 folder from another project. Guess once I pack up the old video I should delete all files used.........Got to give it some thought.

What do others do?

On the old computer, open your project with the last saved PDS file.

On the file menu > Pack Project Materials. Create a new folder for the packed project.

That will put everything on the Timeline in the packed project folder. If you have other assets in the library you want to use, you can copy those assets to a folder in the Packed project folder.

Copy that whole folder to a USB flash drive or external hard drive and copy that whole folder to your new computer.

All of the parts of your project should then transfer to the new computer.
Open the PDS file in the Packed project folder, should open as on the old computer.

Don't I feel stupid for not having thought of that for the transfer.

Once that is done, I should be able to delete all those wav and mov files in PD12 folder, shouldn't I?

Will take it one step at a time to make sure I don't delete something important. Although they should all be on my external HDD as I backup daily.

Thanks again.
