Hi darcy 13,

Stevek nailed it. (so excuse me stevek and darcy13 for being repetitive)

Those "options" will not appear or become available until you have dragged some media (Images and/or Video), down from the media Library and into a timeline track, and... have "highlighted" the media in that track. It's an oft asked question by many, so hopefully it will prove to be the solution to your delemma.

Hi peter2014,

Yes, Keyframing a Zoom & Crop can indeed be tricky when / if trying to isolate a portion located near the outer edges of a clip. Perhaps the Magnifier Tool (found in the FX Room in the Special menu), may be a viable alternative, or at least an option worthy of some experimentation.

It may require an investment of time to explore the options. However, even if it proves to not properly achieve what you are currently attempting, in the long run, it may wind up as yet another tool to add to your arsenal, for use in future projects.

Here is quick 00:51 example…

Adam,

There is also the option of using the Motion Tracking tool.

Or if wishing to have a little more custom control over a hightlight, then using layered assets that are controlled by Keyframes can be employed. However, this technique is a bit more labor intensive. It all depends on the efficacy of the tool versus the desired quality of your final outcome.

Hi Adam,

If you're inquiring about Paint Designer, it's still there (see attached screen capture). Perhaps this tutorial on masking one's animated Paint Designer strokes, to achieve better definition, may also help.

Hi Darcy13,

Perhaps these video tutorials may be of some help. Though created in an earlier version of PowerDirector, the same "basic principles" still apply.

Neil,

With all due respect, I concur with the gentle admonitions and wise words of advice offered by both Dafydd and Barry above.

Hi Heavy Tiger,

I think it would difficult in PD alone, but see this short demonstration for another app that might suit your needs. Then you can take the output and edit it all together in PD14 (etc).

Just to stir the pot, though possibly irrelevant…

I do have the High Performance option available on my older laptop. Perhaps the following laptop specs can help our tech members further isolate an confirm the issue.

W7 Home Premium - 64-bit - Intel HD Graphics (only) - i7-2630QM @ 2 to 2.9ghz - Memory 8GB.

Quote: Hi Gorg123456, Please attach a couple of screenshots so we can see what you're looking at.

Hi Gorg123456,

Hmm. Not sure that your shared image was exactly the screen shot that Dafydd had in mind per his request above. But I'm sure that such an outfit and apparel as pictured, would be the talk of any office Christmas party here on or on the other side of the pond. Now, I'm by far no tech expert. But I wonder (based on viewing your attached image). Perhaps the stated issue may be related to having a somewhat "small hard drive"? I'm just speculating here of course.

There is a Multi-Cam video tutorial available here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DtJDjjq8nA

Though it was created in PD12, perhaps you may glean some useful tips or new insights from within the proffered workaround, that can be applied to PD14.

However, lest I go "Off Topic", I'll leave it to other more qualified members to properly guide you. There are so many various knowledgeable and genuinely kind Forum members here who can help you. Many of them with the capacity to help, even when fully clothed. wink

Hi don.mitchel,

Until Carl312 is able to reply (upon returning from wrangling some stray dogies out on the ranges of Texas wink), here's a list of Cyberlink Certified retail vendors…

http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/regional-stores/enu/index.jsp

Whether or not they have any fresh versions of PD12 available, will require some research on your part.

However, if the above vendors don't yield fruitful results, then a quick Google search of "Purchase PD12" will (among others) reveal…

http://www.amazon.com/Cyberlink-PowerDirector-12-Ultimate-Suite/dp/B00F2DEL0K/ref=sr_1_4/184-3614230-2693836?ie=UTF8&qid=1457858050&sr=8-4&keywords=cyberlink+power+director+12

Or…

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/181993079196?item=181993079196&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466&rmvSB=true

I can make no claims of any experience with any vendor linked above. Nor can I assure you that if purchased, that the product received will be a genuine full or valid copy. Or that the product activation process will work flawlessly for any 2 year old version of PD12 that is purchased by an outside vendor.

So, as they say,… "Caveat emptor".

Good Luck.

Agreed.

Barry has compiled a great website with lots of info as well as links to cool and to free stuff which any PowerDirector would find useful.

http://bgillcyberstudio.com/index.html

So visit and take a look around. If you find it useful having all these resources complied together for you, then please take note of the DONATE button, and express your appreciation to the Crab, for all his efforts in attempting to help us fellow PowerDirector users.

Neil,

Please excuse if this is "off topic" to your spinning disc upload and query.

But as an alternative treatment to your spinning disc/record album upload, have you also considered a revolving disc/ record album? It can (to a degree) be accomplished in the Title Room via a 3DLike font manipulation. I'm sure you've discovered this method does have limited options. Image prep is necessary, and it can be labor intensive depending on the desired outcome. A quickie mockup example can be viewed here …

Yes, it appears the post (as well as my reply) has gone missing. A search reveals this link…http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/47425.page#247153

But upon clicking on the show post button, a pop window displays…

"The topic you are trying to see does not exist."

Andres. R,

An excellent production! Perfect duration for Yoube and skillfully edited in way that it kept me wanting to see what was coming next, as it was not cluttered with effects.

This forum is often bogged down (as perhaps it rightfully should be) in the technical aspects of PowerDirector. However it is nice to see a demonstration of the creative editing possibilities of how one can, with some skill and effort, edit and and present a home made production with some profesional looking qualities.

Choosing to monetize? I'm unsure of the relevance or how that was even ascertained. Nor why if someone chooses to follow that route, why it would preclude the watching of a fellow forum member's production.

All I know Anders, is that I watched your shared production on Youtube at the highest setting, and it kept me entertained and engaged. I also noticed the smart editing cuts and pacing choices you made. Well done!

Quote: I just looked into this on my PD14, and, with a colour board applied on Tr.2, there's no provision to uncheck a "Maintain Aspect Ratio" box,

Hmm, I just now tested a Color board placed in track 2, and just as JL_JL and ynotfish have shown, free forming a color board seems to work here as well.
Quote: Neil.F.1955,
I gotta say that feature is there in V14, and I'm pretty sure never left,

Correct as usual Crabby, it's still there.

Hmm. That's interesting or… disconcerting.

In following your posted path, I found that I had an ExpressProjectCache folder filled with 736 (1920x1080) image files, at a total folder size of 71MB. I too would like to know why 736 files have been saved there, and if it's going to continue to grow, and why this is happening since I havent used express project.

Excellent job!

Scripting a story - Setting up the shots - So skillfully editing it all together into "movie". All so very impressive in it's skillful exicution.

And oh what a treat and gift you've given your little super heros. Something they can look at into "their" adulthood, and re-live the memories of it all.
