I suggest you contact Avermedia with your concern as they're responsible for you safely acquiring a copy of PD15. Since that product is almost 7 years old now, there's a chance that you'll be out of luck.
If you can't get things resolved with them, you can try contacting CL customer service and provide them with the serial key as mentioned in the FAQs.
The only requirement for PhD is that you have a Core i-series CPU and your i5-6600K is well above the minimum. I see several crashes of both PhD and the App Manager and I suggest you try uninstalling PhD, then run the tests as shown in this post, then try reinstalling it.
There are a couple ways to do this. The most obvious is to save your project with a unique name before you produce the video, and that name will be used when you export. For example, if you save the project as Super Video, you'll see Super Video.mp4 in the Export to: box
Another option is to click on the elipsis (...) button to the right of that box and manually name the clip anything you want.
There are a lot of missing details. Is this a project you're currently working on? If so were things working normally and then suddenly changed? If that's the case, try loading one of the autosaved versions and see if you can recover a working version of your project
The first is because there is a clip on a lower track that isn't visible unless you scroll down. To check if that's the case, move the timeline scrubber to the position the unwanted audio appears in the finished video and then scroll down to see if there is any content on the lower tracks.
The other reason this can occur is if there are problems with PD's cache. See this post for the resolution.
QuoteI try to use the Speech to Text captions but when i try to create it nothing happens?
I think we'd need a lot more details to try and help you with this issue.
I've never used that tool before, and here's a video of what happened on my system (click on the YouTube logo at the bottom if you want to see it full size):
I think it did a really good job of capturing the speaker's words, even though she talks really quickly. It missed a few easy words ("googles" instead of "giggles"), and other words that were really specific and that I wouldn't expect to be recognized, like "Aragon Lacrosse" (which it heard as "aribon macra"). Overall I'd only need to do some minor touch-ups.
Can you tell us where things stopped working when you try these same steps?
Looks like an interface issue. I have PD365 and everything's fine there:
Maybe try reinstalling the 3111 patch.
Otherwise uninstall PD21 then reinstall it and verify that the missing text is there. Then apply the 3111 patch and see if anything changes. If it does, let CL tech support know.
You have full control over all the design elements when you work with regular titles in the Title Designer. You can create them on your own, or see if there are any that are similar to what you're looking for on DirectorZone.
If you have Director Suiite (or would consider buying Audio Director), you can use AD's Vocal Removal/Boost in Music tool which should do exactly what you want
QuoteApparently a toolbar pops up when you click on a video, giving access to Speed control and other functions.
That's not correct. Normal (left) clicking on a clip using a mouse or trackpad cursor doesn't bring up any menu, although right-clicking does.
The normal procedure is to select the clip and then click on the Edit button that will appear above the timeline (shown in the yellow box in the below screenshot).
This is a change from previous versions as Warry noted, and the steps are identical whether using a mouse, trackpad or touch. To access the right-click menu without a mouse/trackpad, touch the icon in the green box:
Once you have applied a tool or effect, you can touch or click on the small "i" box at the start of the clip to quickly reach the tool again as shown in your second pic.
Each version of PD is unique and there is no free upgrade when a new versions is released (except for the subscription version).
Cyberlink typically offers a reduced fee to upgrade from the previous couple of versions to the latest, as can be seen by clicking the Upgrade User > link on this page.
Note that new PD versions are usually released in September so you may want to wait another month and upgrade to PD22 since you'll still get the discount from PD20
If you use the Attachments button below the forum's text box to share a photo here, then other people can test it on their systems and see what happens when they try using PhD's AutoCorrection
The online help system is a good resource for these kinds of "How do I..." questions. You can access it by clicking on the ? at the top right of PD's main winfdow or by pressing the F1 key.
If you enter track order in the search box, you'll see this page as one of the results, which tells you where to find the Reverse timeline track order setting.
QuoteNow I need to get over the fact that it's goign to take $1,500 or so to do this. I was not prepared for that reality. LOL!
That's a beautiful system, but if you want to save a couple hundred dollars go for last year's model. The CPU will be a little less powerful and you won't get an RTX 3070 GPU, but you don't need that. An RTX 2060 or 2070 will be indistinguishable as far as editing with PD is concerned and will certainly cost less.
With a modern computer you shouldn't need to use shadow files at all for most kinds of 4K editing, including the Multi-Cam Designer.
Also, having a faster system likely won't drastically shorten the time it takes to generate shadow files, as the designers have relegated that task as a very low priority and it's all but impossible to reliably speed it up. It still might take many, many hours - even if it no longer takes days.
In my experience it's always better to work with the original clips unless you have a specific case where shadow files will make editing significantly easier. And even then I prefer converting the clips to an intermediate codec because that takes only minutes per clip and PD can easily work with the converted clips.
There are totally separate products and are paid through different channels (e.g. Apple Store and Cyberlink), so you would likely need to cancel the Mac subscription from the Apple Store and then subscribe to the Windows version via your CL account.
If you have any questions, you should contact CL customer service.
