How can I re-download my PowerDirector software again? My PowerDirector download link expired, what can I do?

If you purchased PowerDirector (perpetual version) from the CyberLink store, the software download links are active for 30-days, after which they expire. We encourage you to keep a back up of your downloads on your computer or on a cloud storage service. You can re-download the software via the download links in your order confirmation e-mail. If you lost your order confirmation e-mail, please contact customer support.

If you purchased a subscription to PowerDirector 365, you can download the CyberLink Application Manager (CAM) from this page:

https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/application-manager/download_en_US.html

Once CAM is installed and you are signed in, just click the "Download" button next to PowerDirector on the My Programs tab to re-download and install it.

I was using the free/Essential version of PowerDirector, which applies a watermark on my video. I have now subscribed to PowerDirector 365 but still have the watermark. How do I get rid of it?

The watermark is only applied to video that is produced with a trial/free/Essential version of PowerDirector. When you purchase the 365 subscription of PowerDirector, you must first uninstall the trial/free/Essential version, and then install PowerDirector 365 via the CyberLink Application Manager.

If you still see the watermark when producing, it is because you have not installed the correct (subscription) version onto your computer.

I have bought PowerDirector but I can’t find where I input the product key in the trial version I was using. What can I do?

The trial version cannot be activated. You need to uninstall the trial and then install PowerDirector from the software download link in the verification email you received after purchase, or via the CyberLink Application Manager for PowerDirector 365 subscribers.

Can I install PowerDirector on more than one computer?

If you have PowerDirector Deluxe/Ultra/Ultimate, it is a single license, so it can only be installed on one computer.

Why does my video preview drop frames or is incredibly slow during playback and editing?

Video editing requires a powerful computer to run smoothly. If the video preview is lagging or is not smooth on your platform, try these suggestions:

- Enable shadow files in General preferences.
- Select a lower preview resolution to reduce the lag during playback.
- Use Render Preview to pre-render the complex sections.
- Select non real-time preview mode.
- Save the project and close PowerDirector to free up memory. Then open again to continue with your project. Close other - applications while using CyberLink PowerDirector.
- Run on a higher-end computer with more memory and 64-bit OS for editing complex HD projects.

Why does a video clip become blurry/lose quality when added to the timeline?

If the video appears blurry or loses quality after it is added to the timeline, please check the preview quality or disable shadow files. See this FAQ for more detailed information:

You can set the preview quality by selecting the icon to the right of the camera icon under the preview window, and then select Preview Quality.

Why don’t I have this feature in my PowerDirector? What features are in my version of PowerDirector?

Some versions of PowerDirector do not include all of the features, for example OEM versions, Deluxe or Standard editions. Also, some editions include more effects and content packs than others.

How do I get rid of the adverts and pop-ups seen during producing? How do I disable the Windows notifications I get from CyberLink?

The patch update and new product notifications that are seen in PowerDirector can be disabled by deselecting the “Automatically check for software updates” option on the General preferences tab.

To disable the Windows notifications for CyberLink product info and editing tips, deselect the "Receive Windows notifications about product info and useful tips" option. This option can also be found on the General preferences tab.

Can I upgrade my current PowerDirector 365 subscription to a Director Suite 365 subscription?

Yes you can by using the same account to purchase a new Director Suite 365 subscription. The remaining days for your PowerDirector 365 subscription will be added to your new Director Suite 365 subscription.
