Not so understandable.
As you have seen there are many transitions each with a diffrent behavior. The are also options to "set" a transion, like overlap, cross over. And one can use a transition as only the END a clip, or START a clip without touching the next or the previous clip. There are more settings for (most) transitions available when you click the modify bottum above the timeline.
I guess there is room for more playing around.

If you cannot find the specific you are looking for, thy the CL free templates room by clicking thefree templates buttom in the transition room. or.....
let us know what it is you are looking for by pointing to an example.

what is the clip in track 2? That may cause the problem?
what might help give you a hint what may be the cause of this is:
Switch on the SVRT track in the timeline. This will show you which parts or parts of the timeline "allow" SVRT (showing green) and which don't (red).
You can then either change the changes you made in the time line or see that the input format of the clip and/or the output format selected can be changed to allow SVRT.
Let us know whether that helps...
A quick test in my systems shows me that the hard returns from MSWord are retained for me.

Maybe have a look at examples from some of the well-known PD tutors, like this:

In (perhaps the latest versions of) Powerpoint under the Insert tab, there is the option to insert a Photo Album. One can select images that can be inserted in the presentation.
Above the timeline you see the option to select projects, in your case CS1 and Outro. When you play the Outro in the timeline, I assume that you will HEAR CS1 because CS1 is selected. I would assume that in such case you would also SEE CS1 which is not the case.
I would recommend to try playing Outro with Outro selected and see what happens. AND I would suggest that you tell CL that something is worng here: it is either SEEING and HEARING the priject selected, OR it is HEARING and SEEING the project the cursor points to in the timeline. Not a mixture :
I have changed the topic title
Quote I can't imagine there's anything you're doing that would cause this..

Well, I discovered that in the INTEL graphics command centre the Brighten Video was switched on. I dont know whether that was a consious setting or not

Quote What about the video noise issue? Did changing to RGB display mode help with that? Either way, a screenshot or recording might give us a clue about what's happening.

The video noise is still there. It happens when previewing an iPhone 4K clip. Changing settings (I have tried them all) does not help. The typical blocks are seen predominantly at the top of the preview window when displaying the timeline. Previewing the same clip from the media room does not give this noise. It must be me again. I will keep looking and report back. Or show you an example. Thanks for your help with this. I have learned from this again.
Ok, thanks guys for looking at this. I will continue assuming that it something with me or with my system. And report back when I have found somehting...
Yes it was the most recent version I am working with.

I did a bit more testing and what I see is:

  • viewing a clip from the mediaroom, given an overexposed image
  • after including a clip to the timeline, the still of the clip shown in the preview screen is with normal exposure, but when
  • viewing a clip from the timeline ALSO gives an overexposed image, however

I have "played" with the hardware encdoing settings and that does not make a difference.
The production of the clip give a normal exposed result.
I have this with any type of video format.
Also see the example attached.

After I hae sumbitted the clips I have changed in Preferences/display the Timeline preview output color to RGB, and now when playing the clip from the timeline, the clip is shown with its normals exposure. My conclusion is that clips played from the media room are not use RGB. I have asked PD to check that.
First of all I must say that I am very pleased with the way Cyberlink has explained the changes in this version by comparing it with previous changes. Good show! I was and am not always happy with the changes, because they force me to work differently from what I was used to, and some of the changes are contra-intuitive and contra productive.
I am in the middle of a production and taken the dangerous step to upgrade to version 2. So far it works reasonable, but I see at least two flaws (which I have also reported to CL separately).
(1) When I preview a clip from the media room the clip is over exposed. When moving the clip to the time line, the exposure is that of the clip origin.
(2) some clips when in the time line show a fair amount of noise when previewed. Change the preview setting does not make a difference. When producing and when rendering for preview the noise is gone.
When opening PD you should see a red Shutterstock square, which -when clicking on it- opens a Shutterstock download window.

also see the manual: Downloading Media from Shutterstock® (cyberlink.com)
I can confirm that CPU only gives the expected resul

However: CPU and NVDEC in my setup (maybe adding to the confusion) results also in a jumping birds video
It looks like you are not on the latest version of Windows.
It would however be a good start to share your dxdiag information as suggested here

After you have set you changes and improvements to one video clip, it is possible to copy those changes to one or more other video clips:
Select the source video clip and click the right mouse button; and click “Copy keyframe attributes” from the menu list. Then select one or more of the target clips and with the right mouse button and select “paste keyframe attributes” from the menu list.

The answer is in the manual:

It depends a bit on what you want with those libraries.
PD you work with libraries that form the basis for your video project. The libraries are thus project libraries.

If you want to be able to select some media for your video from several “libraries” or collections, I think it is wiser to have all your media collected or sorted in Windows folders. E.g. a folder per month, or per event. Given these folders a clear name so that you can find your media back easily when you want you use some for a project and want to include them in your project library.

If you want to collect all the media in one library so that you can create one (part of your) video, then it is certainly possible to work with separate libraries. In that library, the project library, you have all your media ready for use in the timeline. One you have created the video in the time line, you can save the library (and the timeline) as a project. Obviously, you would use a name for the project so that you can recognize it easily.

Once you have a collection of projects, you can e.g. produce those projects into separate videos by using the PD batch mode.
Another option is to include the projects into an overall project, it is possible to insert the complete project into the timeline and create one video from the collection of projects.

In general, I would recommend that you organize your media in Windows folders, in such way that it is easy to find them back. There are people who find it easier to make collections per date, others make event collections. etc.

Hope this answers your question, otherwise let us know what it is you want with the libraries.
OK, fine. I hope that thay will react soon.
Take care

O dear. Did you work with the trial version of 365?
Maybe an idea to share your DXdiag file with us?
Hmm. Ok. I would in that case completely uninstall PD and install it again. If it has worked before, it should do so again. If not, then it may be good to check drivers, and settings etc.
