I don't have BD titles that contain Finnish subtitle.
But, for my title which has English and French subtitles, powerdvd does automatically play French subtitle if I set it as preferred subtitle language.
Would you mind to share some title links here for reference?

For BD/DVDs, the chapters are skippable or not depending on each movie disc design.
Most of those non-skippable parts are advertisements, trailer, FBI warning, etc.
I think it doesn't matter a controller has the button to skip or not. It simply doesn't allow you to skip during the playback.
There are some programmable remote controllers on the market.
Perhaps you can set the powerdvd keyboard hotkeys mapping directly on the controller buttons.

What audio device and audio interface (e.g. S/PDIF, HDMI, etc) you applied on your PC?
Has tried and updated the audio device driver?
Give it a shot.

Hi, I am using PowerDVD 17 and it plays blu-rays ok but not 4k blu-rays. It seems that my Asus maximus viii ranger motherboard does not support SGX and that is the error message I get when I try to play the 4k disc and when I try to install SGX.
Can anything be done about this?
Thanks.
The Intel SGX feature requires the motherboard (BIOS), CPU, and OS supports.
If the motherboard does not support the feature natively, it cannot be enabled by soft ways (e.g. software update or custom configuration in Windows.)
Find another certified motherboard for the playback.

The mini view I mentioned is this one that added in PowerDVD 18:
https://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=21820
I can replicate the same symptom you found when the playback was switching to the next track.
Tell them by contacting support if you wish.
It is not a good experience if someone is playing music and doing other works simultaneously.
|
|
You use the mini view feature to play a playlist, right?
I can't minimize the playback window to a cover art size unless I add music to a playlist first.

Is any one able to confirm if the abovce is correct? I have a need to install and use my copy on a laptop for just one night (I will not be using the desktop at the same time).

You purchase 1 license, then you can install it on 1 device.
2 licenses -> 2 devices.
That's what I read and understand.

Hi, guys,
Just recently upgraded to version 18 (with latest patch) and I have this problem - sometimes I use it to play FLACs, but the folder view is not the way I like it, so I sort the files by names so they will play in a correct order. The problem is that PowerDVD doesn't remeber my settings and after I close it and open again - it shows the folder in its own default view. How I can force it to remeber MY settings for folders? Thanks in advance
I didn't find an option to keep the custom view settings.
Powerdvd does not have this option yet.
Propose this suggestion to their support to add it in the program.

Like in tubemate app with typing the url adress
Thanks in Advance
I think powerdvd does not have the features or possibilities that let you browse webpages using URL directly.
It's is not a web browser or video downloader program.

I seem to be having a problem here.
I got the CyberLink PowerDVD 18 and the Oculus Rift because I want to watch movies (like Star Wars).
I did my research and from my understanding, DVD 18 should support the Rift
I hit the little icon on the bottom and all I get is 3D options - not a VR mode like I have read.
Any help in this area?
The VR mode feature does not support to play any movie disc, or disc folder.

And, what's your PowerDVD 18 version?
No VR in pro or standard.

Does anyone know how to auto-hide the navigation bar at (for me) the bottom of the screen during playback - sort of like auto hiding taskbar in Windows 10? It is extremely annoying, especially during movie playback, to have that bar always visible. Surely there is a way to hide the navigation bar?
Thanks.
If you right click on the playback screen, and then enter the full screen playback, does the playback bar disappear after mouse idled for seconds?

I tried it myself, but I don't have the same problem even after I re-launched powerdvd 17 several times.
The vertical movie cover art keeps vertical.
Can you find any solid patterns (e.g. certain steps, certain file format, certain images, etc.) that would definitely trigger this problem?

|
Completely remove or uninstall your nvidia graphics driver that contains the HDMI audio driver, and reinstall the latest version driver again after reboot.

PowerDVD 17 has created duplicate listings of my many thousand file collection. How do I delete this library so a new one can be built?
reinstall powerdvd, and discard the personal settings when uninstalling.
it is an easy way to make library clean directly.

Hello support,
It's so terrible that problem always occures for my Media Library. I set the cover for each movie manually. But if the cover is vertical. It will reset the icons to landscape orientation automatically sometimes when I open PDVD (version 17 of mine). I wonder how does this always happen even I didn't change any settings for it? Please refer with the attachment
Could you please give me a suggestion how can this always happen? And is there a solution how can this be avoided?
Thank you!
It happens occassionally, right?
I may try that disable the movie info feature in powerdvd settings to avoid any unexpected movie cover art refresh.

I have several TV shows on the hard drive, in the DVD file format and would like to import them into PowerDVD17 as TV shows, in season and episode format. However PDVD does not add them to the library with the VOB file format. Is there a solution to this, other than re-recording as MP4 format? In all the examples provided under the PDVD guide, the TV shows are in MP4 format.
Your dvd file format means the files you wanted to import is a dvd folder that contains VIDEO_TS subfolder and series of VOB videos inside?
It seems that the TV library does not support to import the movie disc folder, but non-disc video files only.

Hello!
I'm thinking about buying PowerDVD 18 to solve this issue that I've not been able to overcome.
I create my own 4k content using PowerDirector. I store all the files are on a desktop PC in a separate room from my 65' Vizio 4k TV with built in Smartcast. I would like to easily by able to browse through my PC files while in front of the TV and play them in their full resolution.
From what I've seen from the demos, it looks like PowerDVD 18 will help me navigate through my PC files while in front of the TV using the remote app on my phone. That is a handy feature.
What I've really struggled with is streaming 4k content from my PC to the TV. The TV has built in Smartcast (chromecast) and I have successfully streamed 4k content from Youtube and Netflix to it. I have not been successfull streaming the files on my PC. I've tried loading the file inside chrome and casting to the TV but the resolution shown on my TV is horrible when I do that. I don't understand why it is so difficult. My TV and PC are on the same wifi network. Why can I stream 4k over the internet from YouTube to my TV but not directly from my PC?
I sometimes upload my videos to youtube just so I can play them back in full resolution on my TV. I don't want to have to do this for all my videos.
Will PowerDVD 18 stream 4k from files from my PC to my TV?
I just checked that myself, the casting (chromecast) will not go in 4K from powerdvd. It got transcoded I guess.
4k streaming bites both the bandwidth and video decoding capacity pretty much. If you can directly play the video via the TV app, I recommend you use TV to stream videos on the Internet or play the files directly (by USB storage or file manager/playback app on TV that supports to view network storage on LAN).
I may eliminate the intermediate devices or programs for the whole setup as I can to keep best streaming quality and performance.
By the way, I use Chromecast Ultra.

NAD USB DAC 2 wireless audio interface
https://nadelectronics.com/product/dac-2/
I'm trying to use PowerDVD to play WAV and MP4 files from a local drive and to stream from YouTube.
Audio output is to stereo system via USB and NAD DAC 2 wireless interface,
When any content is played using other music players i.e. Window Media player, VLC, MusicBee, there are no problems.
When using PowerDVD, the song starts and after ~ 4 seconds, it skips 2-3 times in quick sucession. then it is fine for the rest of the song. If I replay the song, it does not skip.
When I repeat the same test with PowerDVD and change the output device to the lcoal computer speakers, it does not skip.
So all content played on other players works fine with the NAD, and PowerDVD works fine with other output devices but not the NAD.
Any ideas why PowerDVD is conflicting with the NAD?
Are your DAC applied with a ASIO driver? powerdvd does not work well with ASIO so far.
Try a WDM one.
