I have a Sony 7.1 AVamp that I always used for 7.1 with PowerDVD successfully. The sony appeared in my sound options list and it would show 7.1 as an ouput option.

In PowerDVD I always had the ability to choose whether to let PowerDVD decode the sound or send nondecoded signal to the Sony amp. It all worked.

I moved and had to disconnect everything. Now it doesnt work

When I play a 7.1 movie powerDVD is only offering to decode the sound itself and the amp is only seeing 2 channels via linear pcm.

I have win10 with a geforce 550ti ultra with latest drivers.

Strangely, when a movie is NOT playing, the option for nondecoded signal appears. As soon as I hit play its gone and I just get two channel sound passed to the amp.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Completely remove or uninstall your nvidia graphics driver that contains the HDMI audio driver, and reinstall the latest version driver again after reboot.
