1. This is a users group, not employed by CyberLink. You have to ask the developers that question. You should contact support.
2. PD14 does not have the newer tool so you only have the old tools to work with. Following the threads mentioned in your comments, I already posted how to achieve that with a converter.
Newer versions of PD have the Profile analyzer in which I use. I recall being able to edit and produce the screen recorder recordings at the original low bit rate of 447 kbps to post on this forum. See this screenshot from the past of a low bitrate PD screen recording. You may not need that converter to achieve this.

More than likely you updated PD365 and then a popup message asked you if you want to optimize your graphics setting. You clicked yes and then that adjustment and the Preview quality got set to HD. That laptop is using the amd integrated graphics for this editing. You then experienced what you reported or it is possible that the video files that you are editing now have a slightly higher resolution, bitrate, framerate or in a different format than in your previous project. You can always do the settings manually instead of letting PD do that optimization.
Edit: The above reply is for before you edited your last reply above.

According to the spec under Processor section, the Xeon is included for that generation: https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-video-editing-software/specs_en_US.html .
You may want to contact Cyberling support for further clarification.

I don’t have your problem. I can use freeform as the aspect ratio by using the drop down arrow. The AR box is not grayed out in this tutorial posted today either using User defined: https://youtu.be/IzO2Bmbvm90?t=76 .

Try this: Go to Preferences/Hardware acceleration and uncheck Hardware decoding and click OK.

I have the same problem after installing a fresh copy of Windows 11 last year on my pc on a new drive. There is no Stereo Mix available in the Windows supplied driver so I installed the realtek generic driver and enabled the Stereo Mix. It keeps defaulting to Microphone after each daily shutdown and startup. I have to enable it each time I want to use it.
It was not this way on my Windows 10 upgraded to Windows 11 before. It is like that now after installing and using a fresh generic copy of Windows 11 from Microsoft. You win some, you lose some. The OEM version of Windows has problems with the OEM supplied drivers that are not in the fresh copy of generic Windows 11 installed but have different problems.
You do whatever you have to do.

I do not have the mac version of PD365 to test. Using the Windows version only. find at at 16:9 aspect ratio setting, both landscape(16:9) and portrait(9:16) mode videos added to the timeline display properly. As long as the portrait mode video is not stretched horizontally to fill in the black space then the sharpness is fine. Stretching the horizontal say 1080 pixels to 1920 pixels means that you are magnifying those portrait videos by 1.78X. The result is blurry as it is magnified..
If the portrait video is not magnified and the problem exists, check the properties of the clip for the resolution and compare them with the landscape video clips that you are using on the timeline. Check to see if some of your videos are 4K and others are only 1K or 2K. If that is not the problem then it is possible that there is a bug in the mac version of PD365 that no one has ever reported yet.

On the OP’s link, clicking on the rectangular box Templates for PowerDirector See all templates on the left of the page will get to the same screen seen on optodata’s link.

Please post the links to the websites that you visited that you believe are for the DirectorZone so that we may be able to check them out for you. The templates in the DZ are free to download only if you sign in first.

Looking at your screenshot, you are probably using the best way to convert the mpeg-2 files in PD365 if those were vhs tape captured in the PD12 on your last post. PD365 allows capture in mp4 so you can save a step on the conversion. If you have many videos to convert, then check the help files for producing multiple projects.
Use the tools View Properties and the Profile Analyzer to determine the best or suggested format to use. See this post on the pitfall of capturing and using higher resolution: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/118713.page .
You could just use a free video format converter as an alternative if you like.

The Rotate Canvas fx allows a 90 degrees rotation of the sample clip without cropping.
Rotating the sample clip 90 degrees with the PiP Designer appears cropped. One must resize the clip smaller if desired. The clip attributes can then be copied and pasted to all other highlighted clips. Simple.

|
You may want to use a circular mask instead. See this related thread for more details: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/118600.page . Let us know if this helps.

It has been a while since I used the system configuration utility in old versions of Windows for selective startup. There appears to be only about a dozen startup apps in my original installation of Windows 11 last year so it could be easy to find the app causing the problem. One could disable them in say groups of 5 in each startup until PD17 launches with no problems. Add the startup in groups of 3 until the problem shows up again. This can be accessed by Start/Settings/Apps/Startup.
Thanks to Jeff for bringing this up. If this route is not desired or doesn’t help then the ASUS laptop factory reset suggestion may also help if the problem is not a factory installed app as suggested by the PM. Hope there is progress on this.

There may be nothing you can do. Pros can do the job like that mentioned by kylebrooks. Here is an article on using the Deblur tool in PhotoDirector: https://www.cyberlink.com/blog/photo-effects/585/how-to-unblur-images#:~:text=Download%20PhotoDirector%20below%20and%20follow%20these%20simple%20steps,and%20decide%20where%20you%20want%20it%20stored.%20 . It may help get you started.

Check the Windows properties of the video clip that do not import properly for the resolution. Check the properties of the ones that do import and compare it to the one that is in question. The Samsung s23 is capable of recording 8k and 4 k videos with hdr that is not supported in PD11.

You need a photo editor to alter the photos, save them before importing them into PowerDirector. Here is a tutorial on using it in PhotoDirector: https://youtu.be/14wFh4U9o4k . Here is a tutorial on using a freeware image editor: https://youtu.be/T4OlsxmYQdU . There are more information out there on the net if you do a search.

The answers given in this forum are based on the information given about the source files. The source files information given here is not the original recordings. They are SD 4:3 AR poorly digitized from analog tapes. The vcr needs to be set to the edit mode to not output those white halos around people and objects. 640 x 480 resolution will do on those recordings. 1080p is overkill.
|
|
If you are doing an avchd disc then output to a removable disc. If you are doing a standard DVD disc then follow the answers already discussed like Jeff’s for the best answer.
|
|
PD21 is capable of ripping that DVD. See his help: https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/powerdirector/21/win/enu/05_03_08_optical_device.html?q=capture+dvd . Set your project to the correct aspect ratio like 4:3 if that is correct. You may want to fatten those individuals by using 16:9 if you want by a right mouse click on the clip to set the tv format/set aspect ratio.

You claimed that your original source files were only 1.2 GB in size. The Program Analyzer states that 99% of the video assets on that timeline is AVC mpeg 4, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, frame rate of 30 fps, and a bitrate of 16.2 Mbps.
Try this: Go back to the Edit page. Highlight the original music clip. Right mouse click on it and then click View Properties. A Popup window allows you to see the total length of that video clip, resolution, bitrate. and frame rate in fps. The audio information and bitrate is also given. How does this information compare to that of the Program Analyzer? It should be basically the same.
You can lower the bitrate of the Encoding to about half for the YOUTUBE recommended bitrate if you want. You can even lower the resolution and bitrate to the YT chart to save more on file sizes if you want for reduced resolution and reduced quality.
