In your video, none of the transitions have even been downloaded and the transition is never properly applied, so I suspect something is wrong with your internet connection or with PD's installation.

What happens if you click on one of the download arrows at the bottom right corner of one of the transitions before you try to drag it to the timeline? When I try that, all the related transitions are downloaded and can then be used.

Hi,

I also find no problem when I carry out the same steps as in the video.

You do not give the exact version of PDR you are having the issue with. You can find it by following this link :
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/85748.page#post_box_354918

Should you wish to check if the transitions are downloaded or not, you might try looking using file explorer. On my system they are found here :-

C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded Transitions\27d1cd3d-85b6-489d-a10b-842246a26d73\PlugIn

It might be a different on your system, in that I do not know how the actual download naming works exactly, but with a bit of searching you might be able to confirm if they are actually downloaded??

If not, please raise the issue with CL support as suggested.

Hi,
I presume the Intro room is the only one affected??

Have you tried an uninstall and reinstall and see if that resets things?

Hello,

The update to PowerDirector 21.6 is now available for 365 Mac subscribers via the CyberLink Application Manager. This version includes more features and bug fixes.

To update to this version, launch the CyberLink Application Manager (CAM) program and then click the Update button next to PowerDirector on the My Programs tab. If you do not have CAM installed, you can download it for free here:

Note: the update will also be available via the app store later this week.

https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/application-manager/download_en_US.html

Features added:

- new auto cutout - removes background from videos and photos.
- download stock music from Meta Sound Collection.
- new title editing features - border depth and rendering method.
- more body effects.

Cheers.

Quote Greetings, dear forum users! Submit your options!

Crashes SSD with Windows 10 & I lost ALL projects stock video files!!! yell

Please help me restore the work of the whole month! cry Unfortunately, I did not make a backup copy in the project pack!

The questions are:
1) How can I quickly find stock videos that were used in my project?
2) Are the file manipulation settings stored in separate files in the project folder (it is not on the C drive)?

There must be a way to search for them by file name(alias), it seems that this is the only way, since there are no other ideas. However, when entering the video file number in a stock video search engine, it does not find it!undecided

Can't I find the file by its name (set alias)? Or am I doing something wrong? example file alias "22861342_4K_01"

Please give your advice on how to proceed and restore the files as quickly as possible, as well as about their settings inside the project?

... to manually search for each file again - this is sheer nonsense and trash - my hands drop. big project! yell if the search does not work, I will be extremely disappointed in the cyberlink product. frown It seems that the files from the ssd cannot be restored, but I will try.

P.S. Ideally, an algorithm should be implemented that allows you to download stock files again, when the program does not find files when loading a project, it should offer "find on stock" in addition to the "browse" function.
Thanks for the help! With hope for the best, Andrew.

Hi,

I'm afraid you may be hitting a problem with no solution.

PDR downloads stock files to a pre-defined location.
That location is dependent on the stock library used - as far as I am aware, but happy to be proved wrong!

PDR hard codes file locations for project used media within the .pds file.
You can open the .pds file with a plain text editor, navigate to the appropriate section and find the file locations. They will look like this :

VIDEOOBJECT ID="0" SRC="C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Cache Files 01\video\pdzcc1f391ff9c24a61423ad9c349eb5f7d" NAME="7271518_HD" LibPath="\......

This gives both the download file name/location and it's media library name.

However, I can find no way to use that information to search for, or select for, in the stock media download module.

Unless any other member has found a way to relate the file names/locations within PDR to the stock media search module, I'm afraid we can go no further.

I would recommend that you raise a support ticket and see if support can provide a route to a solution, but I think it's a long shot!

Please use the File>Rate Us and Submit Suggestions to submit your idea for a "Find in Stock" pathway directly to CL.

Quote Hi All,

Im using PD 365, so the latest version. I have it spread across three different displays on my edit suite. They are a Samsung 28" 4K on the left which has the media room etc. and the media preview. The centre Samsung 34" Ultrawide shows the timeline and the right hand Samsung 28" 4k Display has the timeline preview.

My question is as the two 4K displays either side are high res, the editor text and what it is showing me is very small text. Is there a way to increase its size or zoom in on it?

Thanks,
Peter.

Quote Hi all,

when I use the "Create Slideshow" feature of PowerDirector 365 (motion theme) it will always fade to black after the last photo. Is there a way to turn this off, since it disrupts the flow of my video?

Currently the only way I see it to cut out the last few seconds of each slideshow in order to remove the "fade to black".

Is there a more elegant solution to this?

Many thanks and all the best,
Michael

Hi,

The slideshow themes are pre-defined. As far as I know, without hacking the appropriate xml files, there is no user customization available.

If it really causes an issue perhaps a workaround might be based on adding a suitable image after your last "real slideshow" image into the slideshow creator and then that would become your "transition" into your next clip instead of the black fade??

Quote Hey there,

I'm very new to this process so I appreciate your patience. I first downloaded the free version of PD about 2 weeks ago. At that time it asked me if I wanted to use shadow files to help with editing. After some brief research I elected to do this given my computer is quite old, so when I saw the strange apperance of my videos in the media gallery and on the timeline it did not worry me.
Now that I am finished with my project I went to export it today and the videos remain in the same black and white/sepia toned quality even in the finished product so I am concerned what I am seeing is not shadow files at all, but something else going wrong. I have attached a photo of what I am seeing in the media gallery.

I have this porject due in 48 hours now and foolishly thought I was on a good timeline but now I'm worried all of my work is useless.

Really appreciate any help.
DG

Hi,
Since you are on a deadline, maybe the quickest way to check is to attach a small original clip and see if other members can duplicate the issue and also they can analyse the original to see exactly what type of a .mov file it is?

Please note the privacy guidelines outlined here:
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/83642.page

.mov files are sometimes a source of problems because not all systems now have the ability to handle them correctly.

I dont think you have shadow files enabled, as there is no green/yellow file icon on the thumnails in the media library.

If you are on the free Essential version, it does not necessarily have the full functionality of the full versions, which may have a bearing on the issue?

sure I did!

uploaded the video to Youtube:

as you can see, nothing was downloaded - still 210 files in 'downloaded' and nothing new in the library frown

Hi,

Can you raise a support ticket (link in the signature below) and include a reference to this Topic and your screen capture. This will ensure the issue is formally in the support system.

Thank you. I did issue a support ticket. Again I had no issues with Power Director yesterday until I decided to update to the latest version. Like another person posted, if it can't be resolved, can I get a link to be able to download the previouse version that I had.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no standard roll back pathway for the subscription version. The only way you could explore that route is to contact CS directly and explain the situation and see if they can provide a previous version.

Hello,

You can do this by packing the project, which will include the media files used and the .pds file. Check here for more details:

Hi,

@Barry17
@bh5213

You are both on Lenovo Intel based systems with either HD520 or HD620 graphics with a driver date of 2018.

I would recommend that you each submit a support ticket to get your issue formally into CL's system, in case there is a common factor that they can help with.

Meanwhile other members might have further suggestions to help out.

Quote Thank you for your response. I'm attaching the crash report. Power director 21 is the version i'm on.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks

Hi,

Ok, the crash report isn't as useful as your DXDiag for examining your system environment.

Please follow the instructions in the link to attach your DxDiag.

From the crash report, you are on PDR21.5.3001 on the subscription version, so you are on the latest version.

I think you have a 6th gen i5 and you might look at the latest driver from intel. You seem to be on DriverVersion="23.20.16.4973"
but there is a later version listed on the Intel site.

You may be able to use Intel's driver support assistant to help find if there is indeed a later driver for your system.

The screen captures I mentioned would still be very useful.

Quote Has anyone seen this proplem? I've always had very good success with previous power director applications, but when i switched to 365, the application crashes when i start applying transitions. Any help would be appreciated. I have a project that i MUST complete by Wednesday. help, please.

Hi,

Please supply the exact version of PDR you are having the issue with.
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/97579.page#post_box_392512

The more detail you can give about the issue the better, a screen shot of your timeline would be useful and a screen capture of the steps leading to a crash would be even more useful.

Is there a specific crash message for example?

You could also post your DxDiag as an attachment. It may shed some light on the crash reports and your system environment.

Hello,

After you generate four stickers, do you then select the one you want and click the download button to download it to overlays and media library. Sounds like you're skipping this step.

If you did, please use Screen Recorder to record the behaviour and share on YouTube.

Quote Ive attached the Dxdiag.

Suddenly, after years of reliable use, PD has started to crash shortly after startup, 30 seconds. This is PD21 with no project, no media .

Just leaving it alone, doing nothing, it will crash within 30 seconds.

Ive made no changes to the PC and again I have been successfully using PD19, 20, 21 on this same laptop for a few years now....until today.

Things ive tried:
a) I installed the patch to get to the latest version and no change in behavior, still crashes. Rebooted PC and still crashes
b) Uninstalled and reinstalled PD21. Still crashes
c) Restored PD21 from 3 days old backup and still crashes.
d) Uninstalled 21 and installed PD20. Still crashes.

Any ideas to get me back on the air?

Thanks

Hi,
Windows Error Report (WER) in the DxDiag show:

WER 0, 2.3.4 and 5 show an issue with DellSupportAssistRemedationService.exe
WER 6,7,8 and 9 show a LiveKernalEvent
WER 1 shows a PDR issue.

The LiveKernalEvent message usually refers to some form of hardware failure/incompatibility which may well be driver related.
It's a common reported event, with multiple possible solutions, loads of info out there on this type of issue.

The DellSupportAssistRemedationService.exe is a Dell service that scans the system for issues and reports back to Dell. Again there are a number of reported issues out there that might be worth looking at?

Since you now have problems with both PDR20 and 21, when they worked well before, it might be that some form of autoupodate of drivers or other system components has occurred?

You could try booting into safe mode and seeing if PDR works in that environment.

If you have all the installation files to hand, you could also do a complete uninstall of PDR (some folk use third party cleaners to ensure a "deep clean") and then re-install and update.

If you have a system restore image from before the issue, that might be a way to go to get back up and running?

Other members might have their own comments.

Hello,

So you have PowerDirector 365? You posted in the previous versions forum.

The sticker will be downloaded to the Video Overlays room under the Downloaded tag, and another version with a background in the media library.

Quote Hi folks,

Noobie here.
Simple question; I am working with 1280 X720 H264 .mp4s on an iMac
I am inporting small PNG static graphics to put over top of the .mp4..........................

But the real issue is to be able to drag the PNGs into a track without having to edit each one as I drag it.
Is there a way to set a static image size for each of the PNGs so I only need to worry about positioning?

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Joe B

Hi,

I don't have a mac to trial this on but, as far as I know it's the same as on the win version. Please shout out if I have this incorrect.

There is no facility to import "pixel by pixel" - any image gets auto resized to the full canvas. Other editors may do this in differing ways such as "center crop with no resizing" or other project setting options.

This workaround might save you time in the right circumstances, but it may be too cumbersome in others.

Import your first copy of your png.
Drag to a spare timeline and re-size (and/or position) as required. This will act as a "master"

Import and drag other required png images to the spare timeline

Use the Copy Keyframe Attributes function (rt click>Copy Keyframe Attributes on image clip) to copy keyframe attr from the first "master" png file

Select all the other required png files on the spare timeline, use the Paste Keyframe Attributes (same menu access) and that should paste the same sized image (and/or position) attributes as your first "master" png into all the selected pngs.

Not suitable in all circumstances but, from your description, it might save time??

Hi,

To clarify :

Starting keyframe K2 is the same as the initial keyframe K1?
K3 is where you apply crop 1, is that correct?
K4 is crop 2 and move, is that correct?

So, between K1 and K2 there is no change.
Between K2 and K3 the 1st crop should occur, with a cropping speed/movement determined by the relationship of K3 to K2 in the timeline.
Between K3 and K4 the same happens.

As far as I can see that is normal.

But I understand that you want the crop to occur at K3, not starting from K2 - or have I got that wrong?

I've attached a screen recording of my duplication, using the sample file, but I've added another crop and move at K5 as a further illustration.

Does that help at all?

Quote I am trying to crop in on a video clip as I normally do but all of a sudden it's not working as it always has. I begin by setting my first keypoint a little after video has started and then wait to set my next keypoint and crop, then set my next keypoint and crop again. When I play it back it nows starts cropping in before my first keypoint where I crop. What is going on I have always done it this way and now it's screwing up! I tried not setting a starting keypoint but that didn't help. So frustrating did something changer or?

Hi,
My v21.4.2812 seems to work fine duplicating youre brief description of what you are doing.

Can you supply the exact version of PDR you are using
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/97579.page#post_box_392512

and perhaps give a screen capture of the crop/zoom/pan edit window to see exactly what is happening?
