PowerDirector 365 Slideshow - always fades last photo to black?

Hi all,

when I use the "Create Slideshow" feature of PowerDirector 365 (motion theme) it will always fade to black after the last photo. Is there a way to turn this off, since it disrupts the flow of my video?

Currently the only way I see it to cut out the last few seconds of each slideshow in order to remove the "fade to black".

Is there a more elegant solution to this?

Many thanks and all the best,
Michael

Hi,

The slideshow themes are pre-defined. As far as I know, without hacking the appropriate xml files, there is no user customization available.

If it really causes an issue perhaps a workaround might be based on adding a suitable image after your last "real slideshow" image into the slideshow creator and then that would become your "transition" into your next clip instead of the black fade??

Cheers

When in the slide show preview screen, click on the Customize button (bottom left). Select the last image and increase the time say with 2 seconds. Then create the slideshow with advanced editing so that the show will become part of the timeline. Then go to the end of the clip where the fading out starts and simply cut off the fading. By extending the duration you still have sufficient time left to show the image.
In some templates there is more customization possible.
If you like the output of the motion template (as you say you use), why not manually set the show by:
  • insert the images into the timeline,
  • define the duration for each or all images
  • go to edit and to Pan & Zoom
  • select all images
  • select the random motion style and
  • click on apply to all.
You can change the results in the timeline manually if you want to.
Have fun
