Usually the quality of the snapshop is the same resolution of the video on the timeline. However is some cases, it is the resollution of the computer monitor.

If you have shadow files enabled, it could be the resolution of the shadow file.

If you were to post a screen shot of your condition. we may can tell more.
What you want to do is called Spannng.
You need the right software to do that.

Search for CDBurnerXP. It will burn videos across multiple disks.

Otherwise you would have to manually split the DVDs up and have a menu on each disk. I doubt it would ask for the next disk, upless you insert a text message at the end of each DVD volume.

Quote When I download ApplicationManager and sign in, it shows NO software. I have over 100 days left on my PowerDirector 365 subscription. I submitted a ticket two days ago to Support, but have heard NOTHING in response. How do I access the software that I paid for????
Did you execute the downloaded Application Manager? After Acpplictaion Manager is installed on your computer You must be connected to the internet and on the Programs tab of Application Manager, you must download all of the software.
What hardware needed for smooth editing is the most computer you can afford.

Fastest CPU, Fastest GPU, tons of Memory and fast SSD hard drives.

A good place to get bench marks of hardware. You will find benchmarks for CPU and GPUs here.

You edit your capture. Start a new project. Put the Capture on the timeline and edit like the normal video it is.

There is a Blur effect you can size and position to fit. Blur is found at FX > Style > Blur. It is also in All Content.
Did you re-save your project after adding text to the scroll?

The text in titles is in the pds file.
Quote Once we finish editing a particular segment of our video, we often use the ´group clips´option to ensure that they remain together while attend to other parts of the project.

When we return to the grouped clips after some time, we find that they remain grouped (as they should),however, while clips on one same track maintain their assigned position, relative to one another, they do not remain in place (within the group) relative to the clips in the below or above tracks.

As a result we lose the desired flow, timing and synchronisation of the entire fragment and we keep having to ´ungroup´ the fragment, time it and rearrange it to then ´group´ it once again.

If anyone knows a way around this problem, it would be enormously helpful for us. thank you.
The only way to prevent tracks moving clips around is to lock the track with the lock icon on the Left side of the track, you have to lock the track for every clip in your group.

As far as I know, grouping just keeps the selected clips together, it does not prevent the clips in the group moving relative to each other.

Grouping is another way selecting a bunch of clips in the project.
To combine all your projects into one complete project, you start a New project with the name you want for the final project.

You add each previous project into the main project at the position of the scubber. File > Insert Project. Insert project is just below Import on the PD File Menu.
You can also put two copies of your video on the timeline. Track 1 stretch to 16:9 blur strongly, Track 2 the original 9:16 video.

That way the same movement will be in the stretched image.
Before you get too deep trouble shooting, first try closing PowerDirector, then turn off your computer, then restart the computer and PowerDirector.
One way to fit more on a video disk is to use "Smart Fit".

However I can fit about 9 hours of MPEG-2 Standard Definition video on a double layer bluray disk (50 GB).

How much video can fit on a Blu-ray disc?
Quote

Hi Carl, yes i know lowering the bit rate within profile will produce a lower file size but wont that also decrease the visual quality of the files as well? Im having a problem understanding why 45GB worth of files cant be burned on a 46GB capacity disc. Like when you move a file from one hardrive to another and the file doesnt change in size.
BluRay video has the added overhead of the standard bitrate for a blueray dvd and the Menu system.

If you were just copying the file to the disk, then the file size would not change. You could play that file on your computer, but maybe not on a bluray player. File structure may not be correct for a bluray video.
Quote My C: drive contains files related to PD 15 as well as PD 17. I wish to delete all unnecessary filkes. What is the best way to accomplish this?
You woud remove each unwanted program one at a time.

I would recommend you use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall and get rid of the left over registry items.

Revo uninstaller is available as a free program. Search for it.
Quote Anyone on here from the UK and bought in the UK ? where did you buy your PD17 version - cheers andy

Good luck, You can also purchase Cyberlink products online.
Quote I'm sure I can do a better job than the videographer who did last years show... If I can get it in focus then that would be better than his for a start!laughing

As for the memory sticks, it's a nice idea so thanks for the suggestion but not something the dance leader would want to do this time around I'm afraid.

I think I'll just have to have a play around with the bit rate when I'm producing the videos and see if I can get them to fit. Fingers crossed!
My guess is they used Smart Fit in the DVD create.

You can fit two hours on a single layer DVD if the bit rate is low enough. Remember a DVD is always standard definition (720 x 480 NTSC)

If your video bit rate is around 4.9 Mbps, you can fit two hours of standard def video on a single layer DVD (4.7GB).
Quote Hi,

Does anyone know if this version of Power Director supports Canon EOS 5D MK IV video formats? I recieve an error message when trying to import all my existing video clips from my Canon EOS 5D MK IV.
Canon EOS cameras shoot .MOV movies.

PowerDirector will handle some MOV formats, you may have to install Qucktime lite to decode MOV formats.

Powerdirector 17 live does my Canon EOS T6 camera with no problem.
Powerdirector can export the subtitles in the Subtitle room and Powerdirector can import subtitles from a .srt file that was created in another program.

All that is available in the subtitle room (F12).

If you have subtitles in your project you can export the subtitles to an .srt file, you can then upload that .srt file to Youtube.
jofrazzer,
Thank you for posting the two videos.

I would like to see a screen shot of your Edit screen and your Produce screen in Powerdirector with you project loaded.
Quote I want to learn how to do a slow pan for a still video. Let's pretend you have a camera set up on a tripod and you want the screen to move and pan. Is there an effect that does it better than the crop/zoom tool?

Thanks
I would use the Motion tab in the PIP designer. Works great for still photos.

You can set any path you want to make the photo move in just about any direction.

You are limited by the size of the photo for how much you can move the photo within the frame.

Here is a old tutorial on using Key Frames and PIP Motion. The basics still apply.

Quote Hello

I know that I can select a clip and then go to tools>power tools>video speed.
A window will pop up letting me choose the speed for the whole clip or a range of the clip.

How can I do the same for either two clips or a range of the two clips ?

I would want to see how two clips fit together and the most important moments are right at the intersection where I put the two clips together.

If I select a range on the timeline the tools option doesnt have power tools and video speed included.

And if I select two clips then the window doesnt pop up that lets me choose either the whole clip or a range.

I would want to see previews in slower speed around the intersections of two clips. Or the section you want to see.

Thanks
You can only use video speed on one clip. What you can do is set video speed on the first clip then select the second clp and set the video speed on it. Then produce range of the two clips.

After you have produced range of the two clips you can put the produced clips on the timeline in an unused section then preview it with full control of the position of the cursor (Scrubber).
Quote Thanks so much for all the tips and spreadsheet/table! It was really helpful but still left me undecided as to what to do regarding previous versions. I need to clean out some stuff on my hard drive as it's starting to get filled up and thought this would be a way to do it.

I guess I didn't think about not being able to open older projects in newer versions. I was planning on keeping the latest Suite Products (v6) just in case I didn't want to continue with the subscription after a year and it becomes disabled. However, I am liking all of the add on packs that are included on a monthly basis so I will decide when my year is up.

Again, thanks for the responses.
Cindy R
Cindy R,

I would recomend that you export your older Cyberlink Downloads to an external hard drive. USB external hard drives are a reasonable cost way of retaining all of your older software.
