I have used scene detection for mpegs, and always seem to be a few frames off. Each detected scene starts with a few frames from the previous scene. This makes the thumbnails misrepresent the content.
Am I alone with this issue?

I have noticed that scenes from unbroken files, ie "scene detection",
when placed in the timeline, are not checked off.
To clarify...
Individual scenes from a capture are treated individually.
Scenes detected from a long file are not.
Is there a work around?

Fog is a tough one. You might find something on the "Internet Archives, or other sources available at SeeMyWorld. You may need to do something different, let us know. Join SMW! It's free.

You can leave your files as avi, and use "create disc" right from the timeline. Mpeg is easier on your system, and the loss of quality may not be noticed, but whatever files are in the TL will be burned, whether they be avi, mpeg, wmv, etc.

Effects can be used in the pip lines. All lines have audio.
Pip defaults to the size you see upon 1st placing object/file.
The only transition for pip is fade in/out. Workaround by pre-production of project segments in main timeline.
Powerdirector 7 is a great software. Join SeeMyWorld and have more fun.
Join directorZone and explode with joy.
Etc.

In the "Preference" window, you can set the Magic Music default length.

I have an older Sony Cam, it's analog and PD won't work with it. I use my Canon Elura 100 as a pass-thru, capture with Movie Maker, and go on from there.
My experience tells me that good videomaking is a multi-program job.
Capture programs, sound editing programs, conversion programs, etc.
PowerDirector is where the rubber meets the road.

It would be nice if the import export folder preference could be different for each project. I often have 2 or 3 projects plodding along, and if I forget to set my folder export preference then I get files placed in a folder that has no relation to the project.
Actually, I would like all preferences to be set different for each project.

Does PD7 make use of ReadyBoost?
Or should I add another gig of ram? I have 2 gigs now.

I believe Cyberlink is from Taiwan, not sure. However, these days, I think any country even slightly WEST-friendly, is an acceptable business partner. That being said, this post will most likely be deleted, Cyberlink is a great piece of software.

Clips will vanish if you move or rename the folder that contains them.
PD follows the pathway to a missing folder.

As you scroll thru the Magic Music choices, a few selections
should be BOLD. At least a dozen or so should be available to you.
If you do not see BOLD choices, perhaps there was a download problem, or install issue, or if you have a trial perhaps.
The package is called "Full Spectrum". Try Cyberlink Tech first, also, the Smartsound folks are an avenue to follow.

few frame styles! The Slideshow feature is very cool, make it cooler
and you can punch PINNACLE right in the nose!
