Problem with Magic Music

When I select pictures and click on Magic Music I get the message “The SmartSound database could not be opened properly quicktracks cannot continue at this time and will close”. I am using PD7 1915. I have exchanged many messages with support and followed their instructions which included uninstall/reinstall PD7 as well as remove files using regedit and Microsoft Cleanup Tool. All other PD functions seem to work except Magic Music. I installed PD7 1915 on another computer (loaner) and it seems to work fine. I attempted to remove smart sound using control panel/add remove but I get the message “Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\windows\installer\smartsound quicktracks plugin.msi”

It seems my problem is with SmartSound or my inability to remove it completely to get a fresh and complete reinstall

CyberLink tech support doesn’t seem to be making progress. Does anyone have an idea?

You have installed QuickTime when you installed PD7 - correct? SS relies on quicktime to read the file data.

Put up a screen shot of your ss program files (only after doing a reinstall.)
