Hello all,

Well, this is my first post since I became a member. I did some searching to see if I could find the answer to my problem elsewhere in the forum but haven't found anything to match my question.
So here it goes:

I am trying to create some videos of the cruise I went on recently. I have been able to load my clips into the editor and have trimmed and multi-trimmed them to create clips I want to use for the video. Now I am trying to add some type of overlay of clips and/or images (photo's I also have made) on to the master video track. I have been able to add them to the PiP track and use them that way (why do I have to manually scale them to full screen and not have the option of importing them that (full) way and then scaling them down....?) but I can't seem to be able to add any transitions or effects to the PiP part...!?!?! What I am basically looking for is to be able to have a transition (like a fade) between the clip in the video track and the start/end of the PiP overlay and also be able to apply an effect to the PiP (like old movie or something). However, none of that works. When I drag the effect or transition to the PiP track it either drops onto the video track clip or into the effect track and only affects the clip the master track and not the PiP object (when hovering over the PiP it shows the white circle with red edge and red line through it).
I have worked with Adobe Premiere in the past and it has multiple video tracks in which case you can do these type of things very easy. I was looking for something like that with PD 6. But it looks like the PiP track is not able to be used as a full video (or overlay) track....... or is it? Or are there any workarounds?
I noticed that PD 7 has mutliple PiP tracks.... Is it possible there (and thus worth the upgrade....) or are they still not able to be used like that there?

Anyway, a lot of questions I guess.... Let me know what the options are. I really like the software though so would like to stick with it.

Oh btw, I am using Vista Home Premium. I have upgraded from the software that came with my JVC GR-MZ155 (I think that's the correct model....) to the 6 Deluxe version somewhere last year (october or november.....). I have installed an update from Cyberlink but forgot to note down the version build of the current situation. I will do that tonight and provide it later if needed (I am at work right now..... ).
