As a general policy I would recommend to briefly indicate of the changes in the newest version. It would be informative and perhaps even reassuring for the users, and beneficial for Cyberlink, that can be sure that user will test the changes and report when anything is broken.

Thanks!

An Update was available today. Is there anyinformatuin an what has changed?
Thanks

Suggest that you update to the newest version, in which the range production works. Use either the Cyberlink Application Manager or the update button in PD (if you are a perpetual license).

If the clip is in the media room: do right mouse click and select precut
If the clip is in the timeline: do right mouse click and select Edit Video and within that Trim....

PowerDirector 365 (20) does not have to option to output a GIF file. It has the option to export an Image sequence. Recommend to use PNG (JPG is also possible) and to use a separate (empty) folder to drop the images in.
Once you have the images you can use another program (there are many) to create a GIF file. One of the programs to create GIF files is PhotoDirector, if you have that, import the images created in the above step and then create a GIF file.
PhotoDirector has also the option to import video clips (that can be generated with PD, and then create a GIF file with the imported images from the video file.
It depends a bit on what it is you want to do. If you create a video clip with PD first then exporting the imahes there might be easier. Maybe you want to expertiment a bit with the setting too, there are options to change the frame rate and the image/video sizes.
Have fun.

As fas as I know there are no real options in either program to make people look older or younger. It also depends on what it is you want to accomplish with you re-aging. In Photodirctor it should be possible to change the color of ones skin a bit, more blush or less color that may be an indication or suggestion of age.
I have onces made someone very old, by making his hair all grey and add a grey beard. I took (cartoon) images to optain the hair and used the track objects to getthe hair moving in the right way. The result is funny and cartonesk, which was what I was aiming for. If I had tried to make the person look older by changing the skin, nobody would have taken the result seriously.
There are other tricks to do something with age, e.g. make the video look older, by adding a film effect (scratches etc.) and bleaching the colors or even get to BW.
So, if you are looking for a button with age markers on it to automatically change someones age, no there is no such thing (yet). You can always ask CL to have a look at that by submitting a suggestion.
Have fun.

Is it possible to change the speed of scrolling text? No not really, you can have some influence on the speed by changing the length of the title. But thatis often not what you want. There are (YouTube) examples to show you what can be done and how.
When using multiple lines of text with effects can I arange the order of what line starts first. I thinkthat the trick is to addmuplie titles into the timeline and assign the required effects to each. By ordering the lines in the time line, you can also define the order of appearance
Can have each line have a different effect? if you take the above approach: yes. Also when you add more titles to the same title block it is possible to give each title (line if you want) different settings.
Part of the fun of editing is to try (new) ways and to get to new a creative solutions that will astonish your viewers. My suggestion: Try to experiement with the above in PD and discover the unexpected. Maybe your conclusion is that my answers are wrong;
Let me know. Have fun!

Many but not all of the clips attributes can by copied to other clips. (in the clip menu: Edit clip Keyframe -> copy keyframe attributes in the source and paste keyframe attributes in the target).
You have to experiment a bit with this option, because not all changes to a clip appear to be copy-able by this. E.g. cropping of images can by copied to all images.
Changing the size and position of a video clip can also be copied to others, but e.g. the border (and e.g. the Chroma Key) of a video clip appears not to be copied to other video clips.
I dont know whether this is intentional or even that there is some logic behind this. The manual writes that all keyframe attributes can be pasted. Well, clearly that is not the case.... Maybe it only applies to the keyframes listed when you open the keyframe settings room (edit clip keyframes -> Clip attributes.....), the border and Chroma key are not listed in there.
So, as said, maybe do some experimenting yourself to see what works and what not.

Browse the internet for Typewriter font.
look for one that can be downloaded for free, there should be plenty
download the file. If a ZIP file unzip it
a font file can be of different types, look for the TTF extension
click on the file. Windows will recognize that it is a font and display it for you
somewhere left in the top there is a button to install the font. Click on that.
the font is installed and ready for use in any windows application including PD, you may need to restart the program.
if there are more than one TTF file for the downloaded font, install them all, so that you can opt for bold, and italic and narrow appearances when available.
As an alternative you can use COURIER font that comes with windows. It is also a so-called mono space font, all letters the same width, which is what typewriters also had. The nicety of a real typewriter font is, that the imprint of the letter is not everywhere as strong.

Agreed.
A couple of weeks ago I have sumbmitted a suggestion like this. Your proposal goes a bit further, suggesting that all the rooms should be user-re-orderable. I suggest that you put that suggestion forward using the "Rate us & provide suggestion" in the file menu.

I have the same. In the latest 1-2 versions the audio is sometime lagging behind. This is very disturbing. Lowering the preview quality setting does not help too much, not does changing the hardware display settings. Rendering of (part of) the timeline helps a bit, but that also takes time. In former versions the audio was more precise. Looking at the remarks on audio since this version, I think something has changed, and CL should look at to improve this annoying thing.

Yes. There are many ways of doing this.
Almost out of the box is:
- look for a suitable Typewriter font, if you don't already have one. There are many free to download font available
- In the title room look for the Title Magnets 02 (it is in my title set, I am not sure that it is commonly available)
- Put this title in track 2 and put a the color board white in track 1, and adjust both to the required length
- Edit the title to
- change the text to what you want it to read
- change the font to the typewrite font
- change the color to black (if indeed it is black o white typewriting you want to show)
- adjust the size and the position
- close the title editor
If you preview the result you will see that the letters flow in like they come from a typewriter.
There are other ways of resembling a typewriter, like doing the above, but select a plain title and use the title mask to make the letters appear one by one. With (a lot of) keyframing you can make the appearance of letters be less regular, as with a typewriter would happen.
You can also download a title from the director zone: https://directorzone.cyberlink.com/detail/141201
It has a typewriter, and likely you can change the font to make it look like a typewriter font. But making your own as described above may be more fun.
Have fun.

I have seen the same. Audio lagging behind, video sometime stops. This is in the latest 1-2 versions.
Rendering of (part of the) timeline helped. Switching to a lower preview resolution not.

Thanks very much, moderator for playing with this and to showing a way to get around the poor implementation of nested projects. I think that the feature of nested projects is very good and works well for reproduction of a series of projects that need to go in different order or in different collections.
The point I was trying to make was/is that it would be (even) better if PD would recognize changes in a subproject with respect to the length and adjust the main project with the appropriate questions like trimming and overwriting.
You video and explanation show that somehow PD recognizes the length of a subproject and shows a blue line when the subproject ends.
I beg to differ. Please check whether the lengths of the color board and the image in your video have the same length. I think that they have or have almost. Please also try to change the length of the image behind the subproject. What I see is that the blue line appears precisely at the end of the clip or image after the subproject. Then indeed asks the question trimming or insertion etc. and if you let it insert and move, the length of the subproject is adjusted but to the original end of the image or clip, not to the end of the subproject.
See my screen recording attached. The image is longer so the blue line appears at the end of the image, leaving the black “hole” behind the last color board of sub project 1
I thing you have discovered a bug of a wrong implementation of the feature.
I have filed a bug report: CS002424252

Before submitting yet another suggestion to CL, a quick check in the forum to be sure that I don’t overlook anything:
There are two ways of inserting a project: nested and expanded. When the preferences are set to nested, a project loads into the timeline as one blob that can be "opened" by clicking on the name of the project above the timeline. Full details become available and one can edit the project. This is all very convenient. However, when the length of the sub project is changed during this editing, that change will not be apparent or imposed to the overall project when the overall project is again selected above the timeline.
When the "sub" project has been shortened, there will be a black "hole" on the timeline at the end of the inserted project. When the "sub" project has become larger, the new part will not be seen in the overall project, The length of the sub-project is fixed and everything beyond the original subproject length is simply not shown.
Or do I miss something?
When the expanded option is selected, any changes to the expanded project WILL have impact on the timeline and PD will ask whether to trim or insert with or without moving as expected. My expectation would be, hence my suggestion that PD recognizes any change made to a sub-project that has been inserted as nested, and at least asks whether trimming or insertion needs to take place.
Or have I overlooked something?

To share with you. I have submitted a suggestion to CL that reads:
When moving to the projects room, can you PLEASE put Video Templates on number 2, so that the video templates only load when I explicitly select that. When moving to the project space I normally want to look for my projects. With the templates on top, it takes a long time before I can get to the projects. Also because the video template editor first starts and needs to be closed.. Changing this will help the ease of working with PD.
I am sure that this request has been put forward before. Maybe repetition helps.

On the first screenshot the + - border is shown, note that in the top, the title designer is set to advanced.
On the second screenshot where the border + - does not show, the title designer is set to express, which shows less op the options that are available.....

PDHanumansvr is indeed converting all your clips loaded in your media room into smaller clips that can more easily be handled by PD. The result of the conversion remains in the folder ShowdowEditFiles until the retention period (as set in preferences) is passed, or until you (manually) delete the shadow files using the button in preferences, general to that effect. (Or delete the files directly in the (Windows) folder.)
Files in the media-room that have not been converted yet, show a little yellow icon in the left-hand bottom corner. Files that have been handled show a green icon.
Note that the shadow files may take considerable space on your disk depending on the editing work done and at hand.
I don’t think there is a difference in handling pre-cut files is regular clips.
The program indeed takes all the (CPU) power it can get, and the temperature can be high and the fans can make noise. Also obviously depending on the power available in your system. What I see in my systems is, that PDHanumansvr in most occasions modestly steps aside when another application needs CPU time.
I don’t think that changing the shadow file to a lower format will help, because it still requires conversion power. Turning the shadow file creation off, will help, but will also put an extra burden on your system while editing. You might see the editing work slowed down depending on the power of your system.
So far, apart from the fan sound, I have not seen any problems with this process. If it troubles you, you can of course change the settings to not make shadow files, or save the project and close PD for a while. Upon the start and loading of the project (and with the shadow files still in place) it will restart the conversion process where it left off).
The good thing is that converted files are there available for a bit smoother editing in PD.
So, there may be things you can do to minimize the overload. Or you may want to have look at the load of your system, when you do the PD editing, or look at whether the capacity of your system is suitable enough for the editing work you do.

Again I don't see any problems with the main image no matter which version of PD I use:
I concur. I have tested with the original and no matter how I use it, the transparancy is preserved, except for the spots that Optodata talked about.
It may be good to share with us how you use the image, it may be that we overlook something.

Warry's green line often attributed to hardware decoding in pref. He never indicated how that was set, additionally it would be decoded with his internal GPU, whatever revision he may have which plays a role.
Jeff
Whatever setting I used I always got the same result, the green line at the left of the clip after producing. I have an internal UHD 630 and an "external" GTX1070 GPU. The green line was gone when I used a different output format.
