I would guess that unfortunately the problem is that Powerdvd 17 doesn't have full Windows 11 support, or support for your Alder Lake CPU/GPU. Both were released well after 2017, and the last patch for version 17 is in 2019.

I assume your GPU driver got auto updated by Windows, which messed with compatibility between the GPU and PDVD.

Dave
Usually you can switch the audio track on the disc itself in the audio setup area.

Dave
I know PowerDVD relies a lot on the GPU to play HDR video, so it could be related to that. They are asking about your installed programs, because they probably want to know if you have any GPU optimization or overclocking tools installed that may affect PowerDVD performance.

Dave
Hard to say, because you never indicated where you purchased Powerdvd 17 from. You're best to contact Cyberlink support about this and provide you purchase record. They will help you get it sorted, unless you purchased from Ebay or something.

Quote I'm using AudioDirector 12.4 on Windows 11 with a Yeti Blue microphone... the program records occassionally in stereo, but mainly in mono... I have no control over this... the menu settings around Mono ro Stereo seem to make no difference. Other voice recorders on my computer work in stereo with no hitches... Any help please?

Kinda strange, because I don't see this with my mic. I noticed in the user guide for the yeti that stereo recording needs to be switch on before recording though. Double check mic settings?

Dave
You didn't provide your DXDiag file as is requested, so can only guess that maybe the problem is caused by your anti-virus software, a malfunction in your disc drive, or a GPU driver update is required,

Dave
You need to select Youcam as your camera option in the apps Video settings. If it doesn't allow you to, then I guess it doesn't work with that app.

Dave
Video enhancements should not be enabled when playing 4K/HDR content, as it doesn't do anything. It may just cause performance issues with your computer resources.

It sounds like you don't have HDR set up correctly on your PC. You need to set it up in Windows. Check out some of the FAQs about it maybe:

FYI, your GPU needs to support HDR too, not just your monitor:

Dave
There is a zoom slider on the left of the Youcam window you can use to digitally zoom. There are also more zoom options in camera settings:

Dave
According to their FAQ, it looks like it is only available when playing certain games on aPC, and for movies played with an Xbox:

Dave
Could it be the 4K video is HEVC H.265 or VP9?

Limitations
- VC-1/H.264/Blu-ray format playback in the Essential version is limited to systems with hardware acceleration.
- Does not support the playback of HEVC/H.265/VP9/Ultra HD Blu-ray/HDR Video content.
- Does not support the playback of CPRM/DTCP-IP protected content.
- Does not support CD audio ripping.
- Does not support DSD audio.
- Does not support TrueTheater HDR.
- Does not support HEIF/HEIC photo file.
- A CyberLink account is required.
- Video playback quality to media casting devices may be reduced due to hardware encoding limitations.

Thanks for sharing the solution to this. It is only when installing on Windows 10 or 11 I recall. You'd think Windows would have fixed this blue screen error by now.

Dave
Hi, it could be any number of things. As a work around, try creating a disc image instead of burning it to disc. If you can sucessfully create the disc image, then try burning the image to the the Blu-ray using Power2Go. Also make sure to burn at the slowest speed.

Dave
Try creating a new playlist and then add the one video file to it. Once in the playlist, you can use its repeat feature to repeat playback.

Dave
The answer is right there in the PowerDVD forum FAQ: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/84928.page#post_box_351269

Dave
Oh, I see...it used to work for you to play Blu-rays with PowerDVD you are saying? I am not familiar with this device. Not sure why it would no longer work, and whether it is SGX related. I wouldn't think so. Better to ask the manufacturer of Actiontec SBWD100B, as any HDCP issues that occur in the this device, are handled among Windows, GPU hardware, and itself. Not in PowerDVD.

Dave
Hi, there could be several reasons why your computer is responding this way. Here are some things to try.

I'd you unplug any external hard drive, disc drive and any other external devices except keyboard and mouse, and reboot Windows to check the launch without those external devices connected.

If that doesn't work, then check if you installed any GPU overclocking or tweaking tools, if yes, uninstall them first and reboot Windows and check the results.

Last but not the least, certain antivirus security software might take aggressive and proactive protection that causes unknown interference when powerdvd is loading. Try disabling or uninstalling them temporarily to sort out if your issue is caused by antivirus software's obstruction.

Dave
You can't play Blu-rays via streaming/over Wi-Fi because of DRM protection. Your computer needs to be directly connected to the TV.

Dave
Same audio stream...so you created the MKV file yourself? There must be an issue with the file that is causing the error. Try converting it with handbrake or send the file to Cyberlink so they can look at it.

Dave
Go to Player Settings > Video, Audio, Subtitles and then click the More Audio Settings button. Check if the "Exclusive audio output" option is selected. If it is, deselect it.

Dave
Hi,
If you are passing the audio through Powerdvd to external decoding, then you should be looking outside Powerdvd for the solution. Could be Windows update, HDMI driver on graphics card video output, your reciever, etc.

Maybe provide us some detail about your setup and we can provide more suggestions.
