Quote However, there is some positive news to report as there is now a draft spec for Ultra HD Blu-ray burning, and we will be considering this feature for a future version once the spec is set.
Although I understand Cyberlinks position on this, I feel there has been colution within the indsutry with Intel since the 'playback' requirements are strictly Intel chipset like SGX and 7th adn 8th gen Intel CPU ONLY. I'm sure this is just another way to keep pirates from copying 4K Bluray discs, but it also makes it near impossible for consumer editing/burning. Consumers don't need that kind of security and should be able to edit/create home UHD without such strict requirements.
I think Power Director uses the Temp folder as definited by the system which can be easily changed by the user. I have an older 120GB SSD just for Windows temp files and newer 256GB SSD for my OS and programs.

I also moved Documents, Pictures, Music, Movies folders to a slower HHD. That frees up a ton of space on boot drive.

Ifyou don't know how to move these folders or change Win Temp, just Google it. Very easy to do.

Quote Depending on the Win 10 settings, you should be able to just grab the preview window and drag it to the other monitor.

Hi GG,

Unfortunatley there is nothing to grab because the picture occupies the whole of the screen and there is no Windows border to grab...

Regards, Peter
Right click on the Preview and select UNDOCK. You then will have a window that can be dragged.
Quote I can keep the older versions? PD16 automatically uninstalled PD15, PD14, PD10.
The UPGRADE version has always done this and yes, you will still need your previous install code to finish PD16 install and registration to verify you owned the previous version. I've never had any issues (yet) purchasing upgrades and reinstalling later or even more than once if I had a hard drive failure.

If you have the full version, it should never ask for previous version codes.
Depending on the Win 10 settings, you should be able to just grab the preview window and drag it to the other monitor.
Hopefuly you ordered the disc for the FULL version and not the upgrade.
Quote Intel's GPU just has higher priority in PowerDirector because it is more stable on a hybrid (Optimus) platform.
And WHERE are you getting this information? If this is just your opinion, maybe you should state that. I certainly doubt that statement is true.

  • Better support for utilizing GPU rendering especially multi-GPU.

  • ADD support for nVidia Optimus and MS Hybrid modes that is used in most High End laptops.

  • ADD support for multi-GPU like nVidia SLI and AMD Crossfire.

If you want Power Director to be THE fastest at rendering, we need better GPU support.
Quote Hi guys..After all, somehow other developers resolved this situation, if any - thur software is working with both the graphics adapters, Power Director 16 is not.
Power Director has never been compatible with Nvidia Optimus or MSHybrid mode. I went through all this over a year ago when I purchased a high end MSI laptop specifically to replace my desktop. I wanted something powerful enough to edit video. I tried ever suggestion and hack I could find and nothing worked. USers shouldn't have to figure out workings for software. I ended up just returning it and let the manufacturer know why.

I later purchased a Sager laptop (Clevo from Taiwan) which has an option in BIOS to disable MSHybrid mode. I have been very happy with it. I just boot with the nVidia GTX1060 and PD is happy with it.
Quote I have an intel 7770k CPU with GTX 1080ti GPU.
Your i7 Kaby lake desktop processor with the 1080ti should be burning through render. But as Barry stated, it depends on the output format. H264 MP4 or MKV should be fairly fast. HEVC H265 would be slower.
Quote some of these "packs", even though they carry over from previous versions of PD,
I think the NewBlue, Adorage and Vitascene are licenced for EACH VERSION.
Personally, I don't stream at all. The quality just isn't there for me. I pay too much for cable as is. Why pay for streaming too? I do have Amazon Prime for the free 2 day shipping. Most of their streaming videos look like 1960s well used VCR tape quality.
Quote customers that are now using competitive products, judging by the comments I read on competitors forums.
I still own several video editors. Some PD add ons are even available for all the other ones, too, like NewBlue and others.
Quote And why use a $10.00 USB drive if a $0.65 cent BR disc will do. Fortunately my UHD player will handle 4K HEVC files on BR, that is
That is what I do mostly for my family videos now -- 4k files on data Bluray disc. Unfortunately, no nice menu to preface those vacation or holiday videos. I don't have a bunch of empty thumb drives lying around. I stopped buying those years ago and I don't like streaming. The quality can't come close to disc. Everyone kkeeps teling me that 2D is dead. YET Hollywood keeps pumping out 3D movies in the theater. Few months ago, found out that 3D TVs were no longer being manufactured. I wasn't ready to upgrade to 4K, but ran out and bought a 2016 LG OLED 3D TV with matching 4k 3D player.
UHD Bluray disc burning -- there needs to be a way to burn H264 and H265 4K video to Bluray discs (25, 50, 100 and 128GB) WITH MENUs.
Agree here. I don't see any 'new' features at all from PD15. There is nothing impressive about PD16 that I can see.
That link was for the 6700HQ NOT the 7700HQ. At least get it correct.

I have no problem editing 4k on my laptop. Reality check! And it has great cooling system. THink you need to brush up on your laptop technology. Stop being such a desktop snob.
I have a Sager laptop i7 7700HQ with GTX 1060 6GB RAM. Could easily replace my aging desktop with i7 4770k GTX1060. If you're willing to spend the money, there are plenty of higher end laptops can can out perform most desktops.
Was this a download purchase? if so, there should have been a separate file for Adorage. When I purchased PD15 earlier this year, there were 8 or 9 files that I had to download. One of those files was adorage-dspvol02-64bit.exe. Yours may be different if Cyberlink was offering different effects.
Quote I prefer MP4 too. But in this case, it is for a customer. I burned the BR bus she doesn't have BR player.
Then you have no choice. Just burn 8.5GB DVD. Yes, the resolution will drop and so will the bitrate to make it fit. You could create a AVCHD DVD, but those can only be layed on Bluray.
