New Blue wants activation?
[Post New]
Was just "upgraded" to PD 16. Whenever I try to use the new blue effects they are watermarked and say they need to be activated via a pop up dialog box. These are the "standard" new blue effects that have been present in the last several versions of PD, NOT paid ones. It's asking for a serial number, but won't take the PD16 serial number. How the hell do I get these to work or are they now a "pay as you go" feature?!

Well shit. It seems that New Blue Video Essentials V isn't all that essential any more in someones mind. It worked in the previous versions of PD, but now New Blue considers it a "legacy" product and wants to charge $49 to supposedly make it active. Heck, New Blue tech support doesn't even know what Powerdirector is! Idiots. In another post in this forum it seems like some of these "packs", even though they carry over from previous versions of PD, won't work in PD 16. Well, so far this is the only one. Video essentials VI wants you to register it. Good f****** luck finding a serial number to activate the damn thing, because the PD16 serial number doesn't do squat. Just spent all afternoon with New Blue getting it to work. I'm in the middle of several projects that are using these "no longer suported" New Blue effects and I am pissed. Would it be THAT hard for PD16 to have removed stuff that's no longer compatible or otherwise post a readme on previous effect packages no longer being either "free" or compatible? Come on guys, Davinci Resolve is FREE and if I'm going to have to spend bucks on effect packages guess which program they are going in! (At least New Blue acknoledges that Davinci Resolve exists!)

Quote some of these "packs", even though they carry over from previous versions of PD,
I think the NewBlue, Adorage and Vitascene are licenced for EACH VERSION.

After reading this and another post. I do see that New Blue effects can be opened in my previous versions of PD but is watermarked if it is not allowed.
