Quote Is the video you searched age-stricted?
I think maybe for those member only, region or age restricted, or private videos, they cannot be pinned nor viewed in powerdvd even though you signed-in your YouTube account in powerdvd.

The YouTube signed-in feature of powerdvd only brings you the subscription or favorite list within the software for browsing convenience. It doesn't grant you the access to those sign-in required videos actually.

You can sign out YouTube/Google in your web browser first and then watch the video that failed to pin in powerdvd to check if the video has any additional restriction.

Drat!yell

Thank you Q, I had the hardest time trying to figure out what the deal was with that. Yes, I think some of the vids might be region blocked or possibly age restricted and that's why it's not pinning because when I go to the link, it's asking for a youtube sign-in from me.

sigh Normally, PowerDVD was always able to circumvent or go around that feature. Guess not anymore.

Ah well, either way, I still like utilizing it and I was able to retrieve my other vids that I already have pinned from my previous version of PowerDVD.

Thanks again, Q.smile
Quote Hello,

When you install the new version of PowerDVD, you should see a window similar to in the attached screen shot that a previous version of PowerDVD was found. Select the "Yes" option to import your personal settings, which should include previous pinned videos.

Thank you. I still have my material from my previous version.
Hey gang,

How's it going? I have a problem that I need some clarification on and if anyone can help me on it, it'd be much obliged.

So, I just upgraded to PowerDVD 21 Ultra today (after 20 started freezing up and having problems with it). So, I tried the pin function and I was able to pin one vid.

But when I try to pin anything else, it'll either say 'Unable to Pin' or the box that is supposed to show the formats (360p, 720p, 1080p and so forth) just gets really slim and you can't even see the formats at all. The Pin icon is clickable but no formats.

Does anybody know what the deal is with the youtube pinning format? Is that format no longer functioning for any youtube videos?

Like, are youtube's moderators trying to block any kind of outside function or connection that makes pinning an unavailable option?

If you guy want some examples, I'll show you.
Hey gang,

I've been getting updates from my original PowerDVD 20 software to update to the new and improved PowerDVD 21. While I'm considering doing this (based mainly on the fact that PowerDVD 20 is failing to pin certain vids off of everyone's favorite vid site Y*utube) I do have a question in regards to this:

If I did switch to PowerDVD 21, would there be anyway to take the links of the pinned vids that I have from PowerDVD 20 and add them to PowerDVD 21?

Reason I ask is because some of the links I have don't exist anymore cause the original Y*utuber's accounts were shutdown or cancelled. So I don't want to lose what I have saved...that and I like the pics that showup for the pinned vids that the original Y*tuber's uploaded.

Any advice or suggestions on this? More to the point, why is PowerDVD20 failing to pin certain vids now? Is this merely a sign that it's time to upgrade? (cause I've noticed this happens quite a bit when new software is being brough in to replace the old).
Quote Hi Simon,

This happens when Youtube updates its API, so an update is needed. You didn't mention which version of PowerDVD you were running, but there was a patch update released last month:

https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/83431.page

Do you have "Check for product update information" enabled in General settings? A good idea to ensure you are notified about the latest patch updates.

Dave

Sorry Jets,

I thought I did put it down. Yes, it's Cyberlink PowerDVD 20 (I believe it's the Ultra Edition). Yes, I have the Check for product update information enabled and I did download the patch earlier think back in October or September.

I'm able to pin or play vids again (thought I think certain ones might still be blocked because of the content that's uploaded). Beyond that, everything else is fair game.

This API tool appears 2 be a pain...what exactly does it do that keeps certain types of vids from being accessible through Power DVD?
More to the point, why does it do what it does?
Hey everyone,

How's it going? I was curious to know if anyone is currently having problems with Cyberlink 20 PowerDVD. I love this program and its been working swell for me this entire year (have a lot of vids in my library that I can rewatch when I want) but then last night and today, I'm getting messages that the content that I want to try and view (or pin) won't play. It used to be able to play anything and everything but now it won't play anything or pin anything.

The message I'm getting is in the attachments.

Is there another 'patch' that's needed for this program? Or do I just need to uninstall and reinstall this program to get it working again?

Any suggestions or advice is welcome.
Quote Hi,

If you mean extracting audio from video and pinned youtube videos...yes you can still do that in PowerDVD 20. 3D playback was removed though, but am sure you heard that by now.

The full list of new features can be viewed in the help file, and also in the videos posted by the moderator here:

Thanks Jets, I appreciate it.

I have one othe question I'm hoping you can solve. If I have this software on another device say a laptop. will I be able to transfer my pinned vids to it through that 'Cloud' thing they have on PowerDVD. (I've found some great vids that I've pinned and I don't want to risk losing them if the software conks out on me at some point in the future when they bring out something new).

This happened 2 me when I had PowerDVD 18 (a great software by the way that I had for years) but it started acting up on me when I tried to pin some multiple vids and I had to uninstall it when it wouldn't function right (thereby I lost some of the content I pinned from u-tube and I can't recover it because the links to those accounts were shutdown or they were forced to remove the content).
After experiencing problems with PowerDVD 18 (a software that I've had for many years and worked like a charm), I decided to try out the trial version of PowerDVD 20 and so far, I'm impressed.

I'm thinking of purchasing but I need to know what other features are included with this version and does it still have audio extraction capabilities like PowerDVD 18 did.

*I'd hate to purchase this software and then it doesn't do what I need it 2 do (had that same problem with Power 2 Go 13 after I bought it).

Is this a good software to invest my money in?
Dear forum members,

I've been having some problems earlier with PowerDVD 18 and I was curious to know if I try to uninstall and then re-install it, will I end up losing the pinned vidoes that I already have in my collection?

Recently, I was trying to pin some videos of the Intros and Clash scenarios from Injustice 2 simultaneously but apparently PowerDVD18 can't pin 2 many vids at once (had five trying to pin at the same time and they were each an hour and something minutes long). Because I was pressed for time, I tried to close the Cyberlink browser while it was in the middle of pinning instead of just stopping the pin itself.

Now when I open the PowerDVD18 browser and I go to my pins, four out of the five vids are still trying to pin (the bars are circulating but there are no numbers to indicate how long it will take before the pin is finished).

I'm thinking of re-installing this program, but I'm worried that if I do, I'll end up losing the pinned vids that I have (and they weren't easy to come by). The users who uploaded the vids I've 'pinned' have had their accounts cancelled, yet the vids can still play even those the links are 'dead'. Bear in mind, youtube has really beefed up security making pinning vids almost impossible now and it would be a real heartache to lose what I have so far.

Any recommendations on how to deal with this issue? Can pinned vids be transferred to another device with Cyberlink on it?

YES. I just upgraded to v13 and Youtube works again. Seems that only v12 and v13 got the fix for downloading Youtube videos.

So Power2Go 11 is no longer compatible for downloading youtube content, right?

Just want to confirm all the details before I purchase another program. Don't wanna be met with the 'content not available' warning after spending the money.
Is this happening on just PowerDVD18? Cause I have the patch, it worked fine but then months later it stopped playing anything on PowerDVD18. Anything on vimeo is playable but nothing from youtube.

Same with Power2Go 11. (nothing is transferrable on that program anymore.)

Will we need to update to the newest edition in order to get back the feature to play stuff on youtube through this player or will it happen on PowerDVD19 also?
Quote I don't know the song from Madonna, but have you tried a "Delay"? A Delay is an Effect, that can be achieved with a VST plugin. AudioDirector 8 Ultra can add VST Effects.

Hatti

Thank you my friend. I'll have to try that out when I get AudioDirector 8 (money's a little tight right now). But I'll definitely get the AudioDirector 8 program and try the VST effects. Thanks! wink
Hey gang,

How's it going this year? I was wondering if anybody could help me out with something. I have Cyberlink AudioDirector 7 and I'm attempting to do this one word echo effect from a song. Does anybody know how to create something like that with AudioDirector?

You know, like in Madonna's song 'Vogue' when they get to the end and Madonna says 'Vogue, vogue, vogue, vogue, vogue...' at the end of the tune?

I'm attempting to do that with a specific track that I've found. I'm tryng to get the part of the song where they say 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah' in a repetitive tone to signal the end of the tune as it winds down.

I've tried numerous edits in AudioDirector but I just can't get it right. I don't want it to sound like I merely copied and pasted the 'yeah' phrase over and over in the track.

if anyone has any ideas on how to do this repetitive echo sound effect for the end of a song, please post.

The part that I want to do the repetitive 'yeah' effect from is from the song 'Pride before a Fall'. You can listen to it hear from 3:04 to 3:12 (the year part is around 3:10 to 3:12. I know it's short, but there's gotta be a way to get that 'yeah' part to be repetitive just a little longer). I want it to be repetitive like in Madonna's 'Vogue' ending.

Quote Hello SimonSez,

If you mean a dynamic split screen like this or this, the answer is no. That needs specialised software.

You can create a static split screen easily in the Layers module.

Start with two images (e.g. before & after event) shot from the same position.

  1. Crop the "After" photo to half width or height.

  2. Open the "Before" image in the Layers module

  3. Add a new photo layer & import the cropped "After" photo

  4. Reposition the cropped photo to align

  5. Export the new split screen photo.

A screenshot is attached that uses the before/after aerial shots fromm the recent Houston floods (shown in the first link above).

I have ColorDirector, can that use the Layers module? Also, what kind of specialised software is there than can create the dynamic split screen for images? Any recommendations?

Quote Hey everyone,

I'm thinking of purchasing this product but I was curious to know if anybody knows if this product can create split-screen images? I want to try and do some 'before and after' style photos and I hear-tell photodirector is a pretty good program. Does this program offer that feature? And if so, does anyone have a tutorial on how to create a 'split-screen' image for it?

Cheers! wink

Try it yourself. There is a 30 day trial here.

There are tons of tutorials here.

The easiest way is to use overlays to a color background. There are others depening on how much you are going to do.

Thanks.

Hey gang,

I was wondering if someone could help me on another topic. When I'm producing a video file (mp4 or mkv) I wanted to know what's the best kbps to use in order to get the highest if not best HD quality in PowerDirector 15.

Any ideas or suggestions? it took me a while to get the frames per second thing set up right (got it at 30 fps) so I was wondering what kbps should I use in the 'custom profile'?
Quote Hi Guys,

Simon Sez:

Quote

I tried asking the tech support people for assistance but they're saying the problem is that the program is on an unsupported platform (which doesn't make any sense).

I asked CS and was told that they meant your computer's CPU does NOT meet the minimum system requirements for editing video in PowerDirector 15. This could be part of the problem.

CacoGrandé:

CS found your crash report and want to inform you that it happened in a different module than Simon's, i.e. it is NOT the same issue. Please contact technical support and submit your DxDiag file and also the packed project if you can.

https://membership.cyberlink.com/support/service/technical-support.do

Both of you need to give more details of exactly what is happening. Both of you seem to have had no issues until something happened a short while back.

If you haven't changed anything in PD, what makes you think that PD is the issue? It may, of course, be a symptom of something wrong but I would suggest that the "problem" has arisen elsewhere.

Many people install driver or program updates by default (as we all now do with Win 10!!!) or because a third party program advises it, but it may lead to an issue in other programs.

Again many folk find that the 1st step might be to uninstall and re-install PD to let it find the new and changed environment and see if that cures the issue.

If not, then a detailed look at the problem, when and how it arises, your system specs and any other details (file formats, etc. etc.) would be needed in order for members to help.

Cheers

Hello Moderator,

First let me say thank you for the response and I greatly appreciate the info you've given. I've submitted everything that the tech support team requested (DX Diag), a dump file, the serial number to the program and I told them why I was having the problem. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and there's been no success there either. One poster suggested that I try producing a clip without the audio and that seemed to work (program didn't crash) but that could be a time consuming process if I have to do that everytime.

Before hand you could modify a video clip and keep the audio as it was if you didn't want the audio modified (by locking the audio bar so it wasn't messed with). Could the problem also be because I have previous versions of PowerDirector still on my machine? I've tried to remove them but everytime I do it just keep showing that the program is still on the machine. Would there be a conflict if a previous version of PowerDirectcor isn't removed fully from the desktop?

Again, the problem I'm having is to modify a video clip's speed (slowing it down) while keeping the audio as it is.
Quote Thus far, I've been happy with PD 15. The only issue I am having right now, is I have one video clip that I'm doing in Slow Motion, with some music below the clip to accompany the video. Everytime I start to make an additional edit to the video that's in Slow Mo, it crashes with out warning, or cause.

Everythign else that I do with editing is fine. Any thoughts?

By the way...I recently updated to the newest version of PD 15 -- So I don't know if that's the root of the problem or not.

I'm having the same problem. It does it when I lock the audio bar so that the audio doesn't get modified and then I slow down the video and then after I'm dong editing that, it crashes. I don't know what's going on and the only thing tech support told me was that the program is on an unsupported platform (whatever that means). I didn't have this problem until later when I upgraded my Divx codecs to pro but I doubt that would be the problem.

It sounds like they want me to upgrade to the next edition of PowerDirector but I don't want to have to do that unless absolutely necessary though. I'm starting to wonder though if downloading these programs from the site is a good idea. If I have to upgrade then my next step will be to purchase the disc itself from a retailer instead in case something goes wrong.

Also I've tried one of the 'patches' and that's not doing anything either. I hope the moderators get this problem fixed so I can get back to my slow motion editing.
Hey gang,

I reallly could use some assitance on this problem that I'm having. I really enjoy the PowerDirector 15 program but now it's giving me some major problem during slow motion editing. Here's what happens:

I'll lock up the audio bar so that the slow-motion of the video doesn't affect the audio (as I want the audio to run at it's naturual pace). I'll lower the video down to about 75 maybe 60 paces. As soon as I'm finished with the video editing, the program closes on its own and I get this error message about PDR.exe has stopped working etc, etc.

This has become a real nuiscance and I'm hoping that it's got nothing to do with me upgrading my Divx codec. Recently I got Divx Pro so that I could convert some files to mkv and plus so I could watch them in mkv format as my trial version of Divx had expired two maybe three years ago. Now ever since I got it, PowerDirector 15 has really been biting me hard in the slow-motion editing part.

I tried asking the tech support people for assistance but they're saying the problem is that the program is on an unsupported platform (which doesn't make any sense). The other versions of PowerDirector worked fine (even though they had less features).

So I'm wondering if I'm going to have to make yet another upgrade to PowerDirector 16. I mean, I don't really feel that should be necessary but I want to get back to doing my slow-mo routine without having to upgrade to another version and without the annoying 'crashes'. I tried one of the 'patches' but that didn't do anything.

If anyone else is having this problem or has some suggestions on how to correct it, please let me know. I'm willing to upgrade, but I need to know if I can get this problem corrected first before that becomes the final option.

Plus, I like the Screen Recorder function with PowerDirector 15 and I don't want to take that down. If I remove PowerDirector, I lose the Screen Recorder.
