Hey gang,

I reallly could use some assitance on this problem that I'm having. I really enjoy the PowerDirector 15 program but now it's giving me some major problem during slow motion editing. Here's what happens:

I'll lock up the audio bar so that the slow-motion of the video doesn't affect the audio (as I want the audio to run at it's naturual pace). I'll lower the video down to about 75 maybe 60 paces. As soon as I'm finished with the video editing, the program closes on its own and I get this error message about PDR.exe has stopped working etc, etc.

This has become a real nuiscance and I'm hoping that it's got nothing to do with me upgrading my Divx codec. Recently I got Divx Pro so that I could convert some files to mkv and plus so I could watch them in mkv format as my trial version of Divx had expired two maybe three years ago. Now ever since I got it, PowerDirector 15 has really been biting me hard in the slow-motion editing part.

I tried asking the tech support people for assistance but they're saying the problem is that the program is on an unsupported platform (which doesn't make any sense). The other versions of PowerDirector worked fine (even though they had less features).

So I'm wondering if I'm going to have to make yet another upgrade to PowerDirector 16. I mean, I don't really feel that should be necessary but I want to get back to doing my slow-mo routine without having to upgrade to another version and without the annoying 'crashes'. I tried one of the 'patches' but that didn't do anything.

If anyone else is having this problem or has some suggestions on how to correct it, please let me know. I'm willing to upgrade, but I need to know if I can get this problem corrected first before that becomes the final option.

Plus, I like the Screen Recorder function with PowerDirector 15 and I don't want to take that down. If I remove PowerDirector, I lose the Screen Recorder.

Quote Recently, mine has been crashing whenever I try to do the slow-motion effect and it never used to do that before. It happens when I lock the audio bar (because I want the video to be slowed down with the audio effect) and when I slow it down to about 76.0 on the slow motion scale, the moment it's finished, the whole program just closes and then an error message about .dmp (dump file) pops up.

I've emailed the moderators at customer service about this and sent them information they've asked for but I haven't been able to send the dump file they asked for as it's too big and the site won't allow me to send it to them.

Anybody else having this problem with slow-motion after effect in PowerDirector 15?

If I upgrade to PowerDirector 16 will that cause the crashes to seize and desist?

Y E S ! I am having the same problem with speed changes. Specifically in Action Director. I never had this problem until about a week ago. I am going to start a thread seperate from this to see if anyone can help

Glad to see that i'm not the only one having this problem. I think the trouble started for me when I updated my Divx protocols to Divx Pro so I could use vids with the Divx codec on PowerDirector. (I could be wrong though) The moderdators of Cyberlink sent me to a page with a video patch but that didn't do anything, the program still closes during the slow-mo part.

I'm considering upgrading to PowerDirector 16, but I don't wanna waste money if it'll do the same thing after the upgrade.
