untick the one below (Receive notfications....) as well
(If you want to keep your software up-to-date, you will have to check for updates manually of course).
A quick re-search reveals that there is some stuff on
  • the directorzone (4:3 though)
  • on Shutterstock (also within the 365 subscription)
  • on iStock (plenty but only 1 within the subcription; maybe that becomes more after 14 June)
or maybe this is the time to become creative and make something yourself, that no doubt will get the most applaus...
have fun.
Try e.g. YouTube and simply search for "50th birthday intro" ....
This Morning I received an email from CL team saying that they discontinue Shutterstock per 14 June and a of 15 June there could be a wider stock available from iStock by Getty Images. The word is that there is about 15x more content. I understand that some users will see this switch earlier, as they start to update the software until the switch over date...
Yes, I have.
A while ago. I did check the internet connection which worked (typically it was waiting for something). 30 mins later it worked again. Maybe something at the CL side that was not taking in AM requests?
I have just now opened the AM, and it instantly came with an upgrade process. It installed okay. I am now running AM version: 4.2.2819.0, which now also appears to point to tutorials.
I wonder whether there are many amongst you who (still) use the Batch Production or Batch Export how it is called now in PD (365)?
I do, when I have a batch of projects that need to be produced in a specific format. Rather than producing each project when it is done, waiting for the production to finish, I start working on a new project, until they are all done. Then I use Batch Export and drink a coffee.
A while ago I have asked CL (and reported in this forum) to please have PD remember previous settings like NTSC and PAL (I know they are less used but still valid on disk for specific features and disk devices), but also the format and profile. To get this right for the first project is a fairly cumbersome exercise:
- add a project (only one see later)
- edit the export parameters (changing to PAL in my case, and set the quality of the output); custom profiles are not recognised at this stage…
- change the output folder if necessary
- save the settings
- go back into editing of the parameters, because now PD understands that there may be custom profiles that can be used, select the profile and save
- NOW you can add other projects to the batch, which automatically get the export settings of the first project. That works fine, but changing all profiles for the complete batch in one go, would be more user friendly.

I wonder what I am missing, and whether you have similar problems or… don’t use the very usefull batch export function at all…..
(I have filed a suggestion).
When you execute functions like AutoDenoise and others on the audio of a videoclip, PD will replace the audio track with a new track. This new audio track is stored in a default location: which (I think) is a folder called AutoDenoise within the set export folder.
Other folders are created in there as well like the Preview Cache files and others.
As a consequence the video and audio track of the clip are unlinked. This should be kept in mind when either tracks are moved. Best is to group them again. This also means that the new audio file is likely not in the same place anymore as the video file. When moving either around, PD cannot find these files.
If you want to keep the files together for later editing, you can best do a Pack Project Materials (in the file menu). Both the project file itself and all media files are stored in the same place.
When opening the project file, all other files can be found too. Since the audio track looks like already astray when you exported / produced the YouTube clip. It is hard to tell what has happened, did you delete or moved the AutoDenoise folder around. Given sequence number (36) , you must have (had) done a lot of denoising. Try to find the file with the given name somewhere (also in the recycle bin!) to see whether you still have. While opening the project you can point to it. And do a Pack Project Materials after successful loading.
A quick look at your DXDiag files tells that there are or have been a number of Windows problems and even a PDHanumanSvr.exe issue. It is of course possible that these problems are at the basis of your audio file problem, but not likely. I would certainly strongly recommend that you try to fix the Windows problems first, have a look here how that might be done:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e
After that, it may be a good idea to reinstall PD just to be sure given the PDHanumanSvr.exe issue.
I have done some testing with the PD capture function.
What I see is the settings are far from user friendly: The PD capture settings apparently needs to be done in the right order, because after setting the camera resolution and/or the microphone volume, the output file format is set back to the (low) default. So, if you use the PD capture, set the volume first, then the camera to (probably) the highest possible (the default here is 640:480 too), and then set the output file format. The saving of the file format is not easy and is also reset to the default after the camera or microphone settings.
Although you record with 16x9, your resolution is 640:480 which is an aspect ratio of 4:3. I would guess that your webcam at least can be set to a 16x9 ratio?
Furthermore, some testing proves to me the PD capture is apparently not able to cope with recording of video and audio at the same time and keep both in sync. At least that is what my testing shows even on my very fast state-of-the-art laptop.
So I have the same findings as you: The sound is jumpy and choppy and then totally unrecognizable. The video is out of sync. This has likely nothing to do with your settings.
I have also tested a recording of video and sound using the CL Screen capture software, that comes with 365. Here one also needs to carefully look at the settings, but it gives far better results. Maybe that is a good option for you too?
With respect to running a test with a (photo) camera (or smart phone) as I suggested: these can give fairly good results and may the alternative to go for if the screen recorder does not work for you.
I am curious to see what the experiences are of other forum members.
Ok, I understand. The 16:9 is the aspect ratio of the camera, most camera's have nowadays. What is more important is the resolution , the amount of pixels that are recorded. It is a bit difficult from far to guide you through the options and settings of both PD capture and the camera.
scanning through this forum will no doubt help you to creating a DXDiag file, but I understand that it may be a bit too far. My suggestion, try a test recording with a (photo camera).
have fun!
In this setup it is very unlikely that the network speed has anything to do with this. It can easily be tested: switch off the network connection and see what happens.

Considering the nature of the recording, like previous reactions mention, recording with the PC would not be my first choice. For one, a PC can make noise you dont want in the recording.
If you have any (photo) camera that can record video I suggest you compare its capabilities, if the output format/resolution is higher and it has a reasonable microphone, I would consider using that.
Unless your PC camera is of high enough resolution, you don't have a camera, or it is of lower quality, or you have problems transfering the recorded files to the PC, the camera would be the preferred option.

Then of course, there is the problem you mentioned: the specs (and perhaps sharing the DXdaig.txt file) may reveal some problem. Let us know.
Quote I'm still having problems in Power Director 21.
I record my videos by hitting capture in power director 21.
The sound is jumpy and and choppy and then totally unrecognizeable. The video is out of sync.
Nothing is wrong with my sound source or webcam as I can record them on their own without power director and they record fine.
I just have to import everything over and then do my editing on power director 21.
Anyone know what settings might be off that are not allowing me to capture properly
Thanks.

For my understanding: what is it you are capturing? So far I have had good experiences with the screen capture. But there are a number of "parameters" that needs to be kept in mind, and many factors that can be of influence, including the resolution of the screen that is being recorded, the recorded resolution, the frame rate, the size of the window captured (full screen or selection), the amount of memory used for the application(s) that is/are displaying the pictures that are to be captured and the capacity of the CPU and the speed of the disk on which the recording goes.
Can you tell us a bit about that, and whether you have experimented which the available settings?
Well, a fresh windows installation (Windows11?) with Defender should not give problems in general.
I trust you downloaded the most recent copy from the link from:
https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/application-manager/download_en_US.html

and check out other discussions like: here
An you tell us please what version of the AM, what system and which Virus software you use?
Thanks again Jeff, I agree and support what you say!
My reaction was on what I understood was the original question: insert the flash drive into the USB port of a TV and play, get an opening page, explanation, enable selections etc....
Thanks very much Jeff! Again I have learned a lot.
It is clear that a USB stick is perfect to play videos on a TV. I also understand that one needs a TV playback platform, like a optical disk player, a Cam recorder, or a PC to navigate through the menu. So far I have not found any TVsets that can do this from the USB port directly?

Seems like OP is happy with your information and it's given them direction. But just for clarity, I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to here, you can put the exact same menu structure on a USB stick and have the exact same menu functionality of a Blu-ray disc via the USB port on the player. PD has done this and many users have used this for years.

Jeff

Indeed PD is able to create a DVD and Bluray disk with menu structure, to write directly on DVD / BR disk, or make an iso file and write the same in a folder structure. It is also possible to write (or copy) these onto a USB flash drive. But so far I am not aware of a TV-set which can process such a USB drive similar to (with menu and menu controls) a disk-player would. If there are options either through TV or via PD, I sure like to know.
Is the f: disk (always) online? Is that where you have defined your working folders for PhD?
what I suggest you do is, (temporarily) change the name of the folder showing in your image, such that PhD is not able to discover it, hence not checking it again.
It may also be worth it while to look at what there is in this project? Would it be possible that you have (too) many images, or deleted images, or images on a disk that is not online... would it be possible to check the project yourself, to see whether something obviously is wrong?
by renaming you effectively delete the project from PhD without loosing it. ....
My two cents ....
I have tested and I don’t see this behaviour. When I close PhotoDirector and the annoying splash screen, I don’t see any PD14 activities in the background. It may be that PD14 is scanning your library e.g. to select faces or the like? I don’t use that functionality.
Maybe check with the same resource manager what files it is accessing if any; or network activities? This might give you an idea of any activity/purpose?

B.t.w. I agree that this splash windows is very annoying, but I like the layout of the screens “behind” it.
You want to let an USB-flash drive to behave like a DVD or Blu-ray disk when inserted into a (any?) TV. The behaviour being the ability for the user to select from options through some sort of menu.
As far as I know there are NO TVs that can do this. Many recent TV can play a wide range of media files from a USB flash drive, but the user always needs to select a folder in which the media files are stored. When selecting the media format, check your target TVs to see whether there is a format that is accepted by all.
So using the folder structure I think is the closest you can get to what it is you want.
When a USB drive is opened on the TV, in most cases the folder structure of that USB is displayed. The users selects a folder and or clicks on a media file withing the folder, to start the viewing.
I guess that you can name the folders like “3 minutes”, “10 minutes” …
Within the folders you may put a video file (that can be created with PD) that shows the images, for the given time.
Maybe there is an automated loop function available, to loop the video.
As far as I know this is the closed you can get.
Even PowerPoint files need to be converted into a media files that can be displayed on a TV. A video file is one of the output options from PowerPoint. (There are even options to influence the output quality).
As far as I understand the COMBINE option is to combine two pieces of the SAME clip after that clip was split and no frames were removed since the split. It is in fact to undo the split.
See: https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/powerdirector/365/win/enu/08_01_00_splitting_a_clip.html?q=combine

Please explain why you you want to merge two (different) clips?

If it is to get one video-clip from two: do EXPORT and write the clips to a video file.
If it is to move the two clips around: Select both clips and in the right click menu select group. After that the clips will be grouped together when moved around, deleted etc.

Otherwise: Please explain.
Does Paintdesigner do what you need?
