I have - SOMEWHERE - an exploding wall...like a stone wall frame, that explodes towards the viewer, like a Pip transition almost.
I have a feeling I downloaded it from a Cyberlink Member's Youtube channel, for free, for subscribing.
I can't find my wall Pip (or transition), and I can't remember where I got it.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks, Jenny.

Can anyone tellme why, for a few of my favourite particle templates, I'm getting just moving blocks of coloured pixels in place of some of the particle ?
There are two examples below: Christmas Star (3D) - I believe I customised this from the 'Star Trails' template, but now, instead of the big bright star, there is just a block of pixels, surrounded by the small stars.
Another example is the one I call Gold Christmas. Another customised one, from a downloaded Directorzone title.
It now has only pixels floating around the screen.
I still have the original uncustomised template. But suddenly the customised ones don't work, as you can see.
What have I done wrong? Obviously it's some folder or file that I have deleted, but I can't remember deleting one.
Can you explain it? AND When I'm customising a template, where is the default customisation filed? Perhaps that's the problem, maybe it's going into the wrong area?
I ALWAYS have problems with the locations of files.

Jaime - thankyou, will do. Such a trek, the whole thing was a volunteer effort in the first place that took many hours. I never give much thought to other people's AV equipment, it never occurred to me that they might not have something that can play AVCHD.
Guess I'll be reproducing.
Fenman - Yep, I did use the AVCHD master and reencoded. I am going to have to re-use my project files as you suggested. The current DVD production is woeful. I hope to get SOME PQ improvement.
Tony - Wow....what amazing comparisons. The HD and the UHD are mildly different compared to the SD. Wow. Look at those lines!
Tony, I have question- Are you saying other software produces better DVD quality than PD13? So I should use PD13 to make the 'folder' then maybe use Win DVD maker? or something?
You're right, I don't want to go and re-edit the whole thing, it's chocker block full of titles and transitions between almost every photo. No motion though, thank goodness, except in 2-3 of the 100 photos.

Hi all,
Recently I made a lovely slideshow for my son's year 12 College Graduation.
No video, only photos, as a slideshow with music and titles added in. I produced it to a lovely AVCHD .m2ts (about 17mbps) video file.
However, I am getting many requests for this slideshow from parents, which I'm happy to do.
For some, I'm just copying the avchd file onto a USB. Some prefer a DVD.
The problem is many parents don't have a blu ray player.
I used the AVCHD file and re-produced to an Mpeg2 filewith only 8mbps. The quality was worse than awful. I know there's going to be a bit of a downgrade, but it was really horrible.
I also tried producing it to an MP4 file, with a similar 18mbps. Again, it was pretty pathetic.
I guess they can play it on their computers, but here's my question.
how do I get the best possible quality DVD for those people who do not want to play it on their computers and only have a DVD player. If I can use my .m2ts master that would be good.

This has been an ongoing problem for me.
I have Windows Media Player ...one of the Version 12's.
I produce most all of my PD13 home videos, that start out as 50i .m2ts files, to AVCHD with a 50i and 17mbps.
They always look amazing on PowerDVD and in the PD13 preview window. They usually transfer to DVDs and Blurays perfectly.
It's only Windows Media Player that I have the problem with, and it's only a small problem, but annoying enough...when I'm expecting it to be super smooth, just the way I produced it.
A video played with WMP is just very slightly jumpy....no ...shuddery. It's very hard to explain as the movements are small and the picture is otherwise perfect.
Say a title is 'gliding' down from the top of the screen, super smoothly. In WMP it glides down but not smoothly, it has tiny shudders in it.
It's not the picture. Just the movement.
I don't know anything about codecs, or even what they are really. I have a good video card, an AMD RAdeon HD 7800 series.
I don't want millions of media players on my computer, I tried VLC but see plenty of horizontal interlacing artifacts which is worse!
I really can't see why WMP isn't smooth.
Yesterday I downloaded Kpac Lite codec pac....it didn't make any difference.
Can you guys suggest a download of codecs or some other solution?
Id appreciate some help, not really good with codecs and software and stuff.

Yes. I've done this a hundred times.
I use
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
a website that does not contain any spam or viruses. It's just a website. You don't need an account. You just open the website up in one tab. Open the youtube up in another tab. Copy the url of the youtube that you like, say....you like the official video for a current 'hit', and you want to audio for that hit, without the video.
So you copy the url, and paste it into the field.
click 'convert video'.
It converts the audio to mp3. then you click 'download', and choose whether you want to 'open'', save, or save as. I always choose 'save as',....so I can choose where it goes. I put it in my 'music'.
I have hundreds of pieces of music saved this way. All perfect, high definition audio.
Good luck.

It's definitely the titles. I have a pre-produced clip of all the slides including their transitions and music etc, all in one clip. I excluded the titles. Without the titles it plays perfectly. With the titles added in, it plays perfectly on the 'preview' in CLPD13 but when produced some of the titles mess up the next couple of slides with blocky artifacts.
Some titles have fade effect each end, some a single end, and some no effect, but the manipulation of these makes no difference.
One that has no transition has the same effect on the slide as another with a fade at one end. But not all the titles are affecting the slides. Only some of them.
Now that the main clip is preproduced, the previous transitions, music and other things shouldn't be affecting it. So....what is???? It's driving me mad. Hope you can help.

I just can't work out what's going on.
Situation:
I have a normal slideshow. All jpeg images. No video.
I have added a regular piece of music.
There are some fades between some slides.
There are some titles under sections of slides...usually progressing over 2 slides (only 4.5seconds) and the titles also have fades at both ends. I added the fades in from the transition library, not through the motion tab. (because I'm trying to isolate the problem).
Problem: Everywhere a 'title' comes up, such as the red year 7 in this little production here, the following one or two slides, often the second one after the title's appearence' becomes sort of pixellated, blocky artifacts.
I'm producing it in AVCHD. I want the best quality slideshow possible as it's for a Year 12 graduation ceremony.
It's only 8 bits though.
I've taken the titles out, and it all works fine.
So what is causing these blocks? It's only for an instant....(on the beach shot of the 5 or 6 boys) but this occurs every time I ahve one of these titles. The fade isn't smooth from one slide to another. Yet the title's fade is smooth. It seems to be the titles causing it, but not the titles that are affected.
Preview always in High.

Thanks Tony, thanks NonnyM,
very helpful. I will try your suggestion. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Duh.
Will get back to you with results.
cheers,

Can you answer what may be a simple question please?
I often use the slideshow creator, and always the Motion Slideshow designer.
l need the slideshow to be shorter than it's producing. In otherwords, I want each image to show quicker, not the 3-5 seconds (it's hard to say with the fade) that it always seems to produce.
I have changed the duration in Options: Editing: Image files, to 2 secs, however that is only changing the default timeline duration, not the ultimate produced slideshow duration of each image.
How can I do this?
|
|
?? oh??? I had no idea. Are you saying that the "1" is a second but the "24" is the frames? not 24ths of a second?
OH!!! that explains a lot. So 1.5 seconds would actually be 01:12 or thereabouts?
Well. I never knew that. Thanks fellas.

I can't seem to find an answer to this (probably) very simple question.
I'm making massive slideshow for Year 12 graduation. I want my images to be under 2 seconds, but over the 1:24 seconds that keeps coming up by default when I type in ....say 1:50 or 1:45.
Why? Why can't I have my images duration set for 1:45? It keeps going to 1:24.

Thanks Fenman,....Oh, I see Nvidia users seem to have this trouble too. However, I don't have an Nvidia card, I have AMD Radeon HD 7800 series. !
Any ideas about what I should do?

Hi all,
I'm stumped. Since I cleaned and reinstalled my CLPD13 it should be running perfectly, better than before.
But it isn't.
I've never seen this little green rendering bar try to render every time I want to play my project to test it.
It is quite a complicated project, but no more so than I've ever had before. I have never seen this!
I've searched the forum, and can see it's a facility that renders if your setup is having trouble viewing the preview. But why now?
I have every option on the default, except for Shadow files which I've unchecked. Is there something else I should have changed??
It's driving me mad. All the files for the project are on the local hard drive, so not hard to get to. It's a complicated project, of about 20 minutes, but nothing dramatic.
I have far less programs on my pc now that before, so I can't understand why this should happen. Before the reinstall everything was working fine (just the odd hiccup when I had a lot on the timeline, but never this render bar.)
I just tried producing a 10 second range, the title, to get it out of the way, and the render bar even came up through the produce screen!!! What the???? and it was soooo slow!! See picture below.
Any suggestions?

You guys are the best. Thanks!
Is it Tony? woops. I didn't know I had any images that big. Must have been a Whoopie Doo photo for my birthday, that's where I was at the time...celebrating. J

1.
Now with my clean install computer, I need to deal with the 'loose' Cyberlink files that were strangely in the Documents Library folder, and the My documents folder....but loose, not in any folder of their own. Please see attached picture and example.
- Can you tell me what to do with these?
- What are they?
- Which bits go together? (there's more than appears in this snip)
- Where do they go, and how should I put them there (in a folder of their own? or...)
2.
Because I seem rather clueless about the Cyberlink Filing System, can someone explain (in words of one syllable or less ) the filing system.
- a) When I download something from Directorzone, where should it go (yes, into downloads, but then what?)
- Do I need to specify a certain folder for my downloads or, when 'clicked on' in downloads, or opened, does it go the right place automatically. (I ask this because of the loose files talked about above.)
- b) do downloaded titles, pips, particles etc...go to different places?
- c) what about fonts I download? ( I seem to have lost all my downloaded fonts )
- d) Normal Cyberlink PowerDirector files - what is in what folders?
- e) when I change an item, say a title, in PDR and 'save' it, do I need to specify a place to save it?
- f) If these 'custom' items are automatically saved in a folder, which folder? Do different things custom particles, custom titles, get saved in different folders automatically?
- g) dvd menus seem to be a bit different - when I make my own menus and save them, where are they saved?
- h) are there any other Cyberlink folders, and if so, what's in them?
- i) Are there any situations where I need to specify the saved folder, or are they all automatically saved in the correct places. (again asking due to the Q1 situation)
If someone could please answer my conundrum in Q1, then give me a comprehensive idea of what belongs where, I would be grateful.

I'm sorry Jaime, I don't understand what you mean at all.
I'm reinstalling windows.
Do I put 11 back on first? THen 13? or just 13. why would I be putting my licence key for pd11? and why wouldn't I do the full install? I'm sorry, I dont' get it.

Hi all,
Reinstalling Windows 7 before new windows 10 comes out so it's fresh.
I had Full version cyberlink Powerdirector Ultra 11 (for which I have discs) , - and then bought the discs to upgrade to PowerDirector 13 Ultimate Suite from v.11/12 Ultra (download version) - incl Premium Effects and templates, PhotoDirector 5 ultra (download version) which I currently have on the computer.
I am very keen not to loose any of the previous templates that PD11 has, that PD13 has not. I would, however, prefer not to have 2 full programs on the computer if possible.
My question is twofold: 1) on reinstalling all my programs, do I need to install PD 11 first? THEN use the discs to put on PD13 et al? (I think maybe I do, since it's an upgrade disc?)
and 2) Do I need to/ or can I delete any PD11 stuff which is just duplicated after I've put PD13 on.
Thanks,
Jenny

Thanks Tomasc, that really helps! I had no idea. I mean, I thought it was strange, but Windows can sometimes be a bit of a mystery. So I'll delete the second tier documents folder, first copying it's contents to the first tier folder making the 1st one.
I'll leave the doc folder in the user, as the 2nd one.
Which still leaves the questions,...why are those cyberlink files loose in the 1st doc folder? and where should they really be? They are a wide variety of files, pngs, jpegs, backgrounds, particles, and colour director files etc.
And, when reinstalling do I install PD11 first, then PD13 over the top? to preserve the original pd11 templates that don't come with pd13?
