The image I had put in my previous reply was generated in GIMP and I used the gaussian blur on that to get those left and right edges.

CS
Is this what you are looking for?

" alt="Grey scale wht to blk" height="1080" id="__mcenew" />

Hope this shows up in the reply. It took all of 3 minutes to create... I've been trying to remember how to get a picture posted for the past 20 minutes to communicate it... lol

When I first started reading thsi thread I was thinking 'hmmm this is ceratainly and old thread dug up again' ... and then realized what was happening.

This was nice to see. I'm sure some are thinking that this has nothing to do with addressing 'issues' ... and that's true but.... this is nice to see - when old friends/aquaintences meet.

Happy New Year guys.

CS
Anja - does that mask feathering - does it feather all the edges when you perform that? Or can you control which edges get that feathering?

Otherwise what I'm about to suggest might be the hard way to do it but - maybe just create an image (like in PS of GIMP) and drag it into PD and go from there. A lot more work I suppose but I think it could be done that way.

CS
This thread is over a year old Kana's Lens - best to start a new thread asking what you want to resolve.

I am not aware of if you can or how to just select a few clips and do as you want to do. I have not tried this out.

CS
... as far as 'need spell check' - just look at my previous post in this thread! lol Ah... o well.

CS
No worries Longedge! laughing

CS
I think the "this" in Longedge's reply.... is the following link:

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/40225.page

...I think. Is this right Longedge?

CS

(I just do not 'see' that "this" as a link Longedge, thus I attached the one I thought you were trying to post)
Well, Barry, I haven't been in PD13 recently either so.... I look forward to ... posssible 'issues' there too.

CS
Have you tried to customize the produce/production and change the bitrate - lower it down a little and then review your results?

CS
Dang Barry - sounds like a royal PITA.... sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm still in PD13 land - can't offer any suggestions.

CS
The 180 GB of video you start out with may not end up 180 GB after you go through the editing process and then try to burn it to a DVD disc.

Like Longedge said - the Produce will create a file that you could put on a flash drive - which then you could plug into a BluRay player of the back of your TV if the TV has a USB connection on it - maybe!

The Create a Disk - does that! It'll burn a disc - in you case you want it to burn a DVD disc. The 180 GB of video that you stated - I don't know what that will end up being after you edit it and have it ready to try to Creat a Disk with. But there might be options when you go to create a disk that allow you to do so.

CS
Is there still spell-checking somewhere? I haven't seen it yet as I've sent a few responses in response windows. The old forum(just prior to this one) - one of the reply windows had underlined all my bad spelling and I tried to correct them before posting. I know there was one 'reply' window that did NOT spell chec too - but the 'other one' did.

I jsut don't see wehre that is possible right now - if it is there - jsut let me know so I can try to spare people reading my responses.

THanks

CS
Other here are probably goiong to be able to help more than I can but I'll offer some input on this.

I have the same issue in PD13 but it is because I've uninstalled/erased QuickTime from my computer. This past Summer there was an announcement that QuickTime had a security issue when residing in a Windows OS I believe. SO without QT, I can't simply drag or copy .MOV files into the PD library window - since they aren't recognized by PD - since PD needed QT to recognize .MOV video clips.

I am not sure your issue is exactly the same but I offer the above for your information.

Maybe you can try converting theose clips to a different video clip format ... like (but not limiting you to just this format) - like .avi???? Then after the conversion you can try to bring them into the library.

CS

second edit: I'll refer you to this link. Not sure if that will help you but I just saw it.

The only thing I can say in my defense is that I did say ' I was wondering' so I was only speculating or rather inquiring in a speculatory manner. lol Ah, alot typed for no particular good reason other than to try to explain I was 'wondering' and didn't really claim the SSD would be faster.

Thanks again PepsiMan

CS

p.s. edit addition:

And Jeff definately deserves credit for that analysis and all the technical info he offers.
Well, I guess not! I sit corrected!

Thanks for the link and info PepsiMan!

Is the 'Follw this thread' ... or it was worded something like that - still available? I do not see where that is located. I thought it was lower left of the thread and I do not see that now.

I used to use this to learn a little about threads/topics I was interested in.

CS
I like how you explained the results to your experiment with HA - very clear - conscise in my opinion. I've not tried to use HA I don't think but then again I've usually had quite heavily edited clips in projects I've rendered in the past.

I wonder what the results would have been if you had used a SSD instead of the HDD? (so I guess I'm wondering if a SSD reads and writes faster that the render times would decrease?)

CS
Thanks Longedge!

CS
Hey Bill, your issue is a little bit different than the original post so - you might want to start a NEW thread with your issue ok?

As far as knowing if you get a reply - I'm pretty sure you can set that up in your profile ("My Profile" at top of page) or somewhere - to get an email notification when you get a response to something you comment on or an issue/thread you create. GO to "My Profile", then down under "Preferences" look for the choice to "Send email notification when post gets answered" - click to check it and hit "Submit" at bottom of page --- important.

CS
Thanks for the response Tony! Where I was going with this was, if I put a 120 fps clip into the timeline, and reduced the speed to .25 - would this clip preview (in the preview window) look like a clip 'shot at' 60 fps and slowed to .50 speed?

Would they both exhibit the same clarity-resolution???

I don't see me purchasing the PD15 just to see if this is the case. I'm thinking I'm still a version or two away from an upgrade or purchase. Not trying to discourage anyone from such but it's just my personal preference.

Thanks Tony,

CS
