Slow rendering in PowerDirector

When playing a clip in PowerDirector (I use version 10 but I know it have been reported for version 12 too and probably later too) it needs to render it all the time (and it takes a long time) and the playback gets choppy.

I'm writing here since I had problem finding the real solution myself.

The problem I have had is because of modern NVIDIA drivers and their default setting of CUDA.

It's ok to use the most updated driver (you probably want this if you're gaming) but you need to do this:

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel

  2. Choose Program Settings

  3. Choose/add Cyberlink Power Director

  4. Look up Feature CUDA - GPUs

  5. Under CUDA - GPUs, Choose Use these GPUs and make sure no card is selected

  6. It should say: CUDA - GPUs None

  7. Apply these settings and the rendering problem should now be gone

Good luck!

I am NOT quite sure whether or not I am in the correct forum to ask this question, if NOT please advise which one I need to be in.

Question: I have recently TRIED and failed to successfully create/burn a mp4 video file in power director 11 onto a 50gig bluray disc which says the file burned successful but when I put it in my bluray player it will NOT play.

I have rendered it both as a h.264 and a Mpeg 2

Can ANYONE PLEASE tell me what I am doing wrong?

And likewise once I leave here how do I go about accessing your reply IF someone does agree to assist me with my problem.

In anticipation of your time and assistance in answering me
Thank you

Regards
Bill

Hey Bill, your issue is a little bit different than the original post so - you might want to start a NEW thread with your issue ok?

As far as knowing if you get a reply - I'm pretty sure you can set that up in your profile ("My Profile" at top of page) or somewhere - to get an email notification when you get a response to something you comment on or an issue/thread you create. GO to "My Profile", then down under "Preferences" look for the choice to "Send email notification when post gets answered" - click to check it and hit "Submit" at bottom of page --- important.
