I can't be sure if this is just me, but the fast forward button does fast forward the preview but is it at all possible to fast forward the audio as well in the preveiw? I am aware of scrubbing through the clip and the video speed but it's just something I feel might be helpful.
You could highlight all the clips on the timeline. Change the video speed up to 10X and preview it. Afterwards you can click undo and go back to normal video editing.

When I am editing my videos, the tutorial says that I use the split buttom to cut a clip. That works fine. According to the tutorial, when I use the CUT button, I should get a pop-up menu and use option #3: Remove, Fill Gap, and Move Clip. This menu never pops up. Could someone please tell me how to fix this?
Thank you so much,
Cassy Gray
You won’t get the popup menu option if it is the last clip segment on the last clip on the timeline. You should get the menu option on all others.

Hello;
I am contacting you because I cannot find the information anywhere.
I repeat the video project of a person made with "PowerDirector 21" which contains 130 photos accompanied by 130 text modules, so 1 per photo.
The previous person, out of ignorance, configured almost every photo with fonts of different styles and sizes.
I would like to know if it is possible to change all text modules at once so that they have the same font, the same size and the same effect.
Thank you.
The answer is no.
I find that you can replace any title on the timeline by dragging a new chosen title over the old one by hovering on it and clicking replace. The typed text will be the same so you don’t have to retype but the font, text size, color, etc. will default to be that of the new chosen title. Because of the text size difference on the new chosen title, you may have to recenter it, etc. to your liking.
Haven’t tested every title but most titles should work. You can repeat this on any title you want to change.

This may work. I have Win 11 on my pc.
In Win11. Right mouse click on the image, Click Open with, Choose another app, Choose an app on your pc, Program Files (x86), CyberLink, PowerDVD14, PowerDVD14.exe, Open, Just Once or Always.

Thanks for clarifying. I understand that AI background removal in video is already in the next beta version of PD testing and the results aren’t even close to what is in the ios version. Hopefully they get it right before PD22 is released. Saw this in a recent webcast.
|
|
Wow, What AI feature did you use to remove the stool in PD365?
|
|
Thanks for supplying the video clip. You could try a helmet or chest mount for the GoPro to stop that clicking. You may also want to use a solid handheld tripod that doesn’t click. The clicking volume is very low. The audio volume is all in the green. Most users will just fill the video with music and/or their dialog post production.
The low level audio volume recording on a GoPro makes it difficult for any software to distinguish between wanted and unwanted sound. You could increase the audio volume to max Produce it and then be able to use the noise reduction filters on it Produce the audio again at the desired low volume.
Had different results using each of the restore tools in ad9. Manual fixing the clicks can be time consuming. See the attached video.
Someone who uses AD365 may know how to do it with the AI tools which is what you want. You may want to contact CyberLink Support for their knowledge to fix this.

Editing the menu structure can be done in PowerDirector 365.

I have watched several videos on creating a disk with PowerDirector and have been left with a few questions.
- In these tutorials they were using Mpeg4 formats. Does this provide the best result when burning to disk or will other formats also provide the best quality finished product?
- In the create disk stage the thumbnails in the menus of these tutorials were round with soft edging. The thumbnails in mine show as rectangular with hard edging. Is there a way to ulter the shape of the thumbnails?
I appreciate your help with these questions
The DVD format is about 20 years old, made for the video quality back then. It is basically obsolete today as no new computers have optical drives on them, like the floppy disk and drives not being present on modern computers.
The mpeg-2 interlaced format was used back then on cameras. Today it is mpeg-4 as the usual format for cameras and camcorders. That is probably the reason for it being used in the tutorials you viewed.
You can create thumbnails in any shape you like. I have them on the DZ. You need to do a search on the forum to see how it was done in previous versions of PD.

It seems that the transition issue occurs on optodata’s PC’s with both AMD and Intel cpu with integrated graphics and with Nvidia graphics. Noticed that no one else reported this yet. Hope that it is fixed before the next version comes out.

You are saying that you want to open a project created in PD20 from a different computer. You may not be successful unless you create a packed project on the old pc and open the packed project on the new pc.
That template is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\templates\PowerDirector Content Pack Essential\PiPObject\PDR12_FilmProjector which consists of 156 files on a default installation.
That template is available to download for free in the DZ.
Edit: optodata answered first. Sometimes with a packed project, an incorrect template or PiP object can be substituted with custom and downloaded templates depending on the date and order it was created or downloaded. You just need to change it.
If a image was placed for the original PiP object, found that that image can be replaced with the correct PiP template from the PiP library by drag n drop. Hope this helps...

According to users in the Dell communities, Win 11 has no support for firewire because of royalties that need to be paid. My win xp, and win 7 pc works well with firewire. Problem solved for Dell’s here: https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8950-Firewire-recommendation/m-p/8254373#M74364 .

The PDM request for the timeline screenshot would be the most helpful.
8 sec. * 71 jpg = 568 sec. 568/60=9.46 minutes so your 9:50 observation is correct as you are using the cross transition.
6 sec * 71 jpg = 426 sec 426/60=7.1 minutes so your 7:30 observation is 24 sec. too long.using the cross transition again.
To fix this: Lock the audio track to avoid a possible problem. Highlight all the jpegs. Set the duration button to either 8 or 6, or even 7 sec to achieve what you want in total duration. Unlock the audio track. The transition times will not be affected unless you have a mix of both overlap and cross transitions. Unlock the audio track.
You need to set all the durations for images and transitions first in Preferences and the transition type to cross before you start the next project. This is so that you don’t have to set each one individually on the timeline.

Sorry about your mother. She lived a long life. The DVD maximum resolution is 720 x 480/ 60i or 640 x 480 from mp4, whereas your computer monitor or tv resolution is at least 1920 x 1080/ 60p. That is 3X higher in horizontal resolution. That is why the DVD doesn’t look sharp.
There are many options. I would produce those on my timeline to 4K. And put the mp4 file on a small usb flash drive to distribute to family members to view on a modern 4K TV or on their pc. If any of the family members have a Blu-ray player, you have the option of creating a BD or AVCHD to distribute to them in 1080/60p or 720/60p on disc or on a usb flash drive. The sharpness is better than what is on a DVD.

The op was using the newer blending mode lens flare which must be applied to the clip as he has stated. The op was probably using the fx effect lens flare which can be placed on a fx track in his previous version of PD as shown in the screenshot..That fx track can be added via the track manager in PD365. Hope that everything is cleared up now.

Maybe an "enhanced" feature of PD365, I've got the perpetual key PD21 and Lens Flare works as normal. Maybe one of the other users with PD365 will respond with their experience.
Jeff
It was never possible to place a lens flare effect on the fx track on any version of PD. That is a Blending effect that must be applied to a clip which would appear just below it.
The fx track doesn’t work with blending effects, and color luts either which was placed in the fx library in later versions of PD.

The sharpen tools work in layers. After applying 100% , one could apply another 100% and get oversharpened images that don’t look right with the artifacts with motion blurred images. The image should be sharpened before going into layers.
It is much better to use the deblur tool for motion blurred objects in images like in this Cyberlink PhD tutorial: https://youtu.be/rjzV-3QYOdA .

Update:
Cyberlink Support came back just now. They have tried to reproduce the error using my project more than 10 times and kept seeing normal behavior. IThe root cause on my condition is unknown, and it could possibly be related to any small glitches that might occur in the temporary thumbnail rendering process on timeline and feature rooms in PowerDirector on your platform specifically.
They gave me a tip to delete an entry in the registry. I have done that and will see how things go.
No surprises, but I am happy with the fast turn around time of the reaction, Thanks Lilian!
Just to let you know that you are not the only one that sees incorrect thumbnails. I am using PD17 to create a slideshow using about 500 files. This will be authored and burned to BD with Dolby Digital Audio. PD did not respond when I tried to save it as a different project. After a while, I opened it, ready for titling on the lower track. Went to custom titles and all the thumbnail images are wrong. Went to all contents and saw all the thumbnail images are wrong. The title names and title preview are all correct. See the attached 30 sec. Screen recording.
This is only 500 4K assets without shadow files. Have more than enough ram. Hope that Cyberlink support will be able to help you more. Do recall this and other bugs in the earlier versions of PD. A restart or powerup of the pc seems to remedy the problem so I never reported it. Others here have experienced it and probably never reported it either. Have not powered down or reset the pc yet. I think that I can continue working even with incorrect thumbnails.
It is possible that supplying a screen recording of the issue may encourage support to look in other areas to fix the issue. I certainly hope so.

Thanks for the attachment. The above mediainfo report indicates that the video format is vp09 whereas the 4K videodownloader downloads are in the VP9 format from YouTube. The two codecs are not the same. Use any video converters or even HandBrake to convert it to an avc mp4 format It will then be compatible to use with P2Go.
That particular video file might be compatible with your version of PowerDirector as indicated by Jeff. That would be the easiest fix. You may want to use chapters and menus too.

P2Go11 works properly in creating a DVD folder on my windows 11 pc.
More than likely the particular video file is in a format not accepted by P2Go. Use this online link: https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline . Drag n drop that file and Download the Mediainfo report. Attach that text report on your next reply.

I tried again and it did require a password. This time I dug out my notes and found I had changed the password not long ago. That enabled me to finally log in and download the program.
Thanks for your help!
Downloading the program from Cyberlink is not what you said in your original post. That is a different requirement.
Installing the program to a different pc from a backup only requires the key code. Glad that you got it going.
