Thanks so much. 2 mediainfo files attached, a GoPro Hero 7 and a Hero 8. Both have the same sync to video issue. Again its only during editing and when I produce the audio is synced fine. Sometimes I need to edit know precisely where the audio is and this is a problem for me.
Thank you for the mediainfos. These are GoPro videos with a constant frame rate and a constant audio bitrate. I don’t have any problem editing the hevc version of them on a desktop. I have found in the past that toggling the Preference/General/Audio between stereo and 5.1 a few times and then OK fixes low level of audio heard on the timeline on previous PD versions. Only had to do that a few times in 10 years of video editing. You may want to change the Preview Quality from HD to High if you haven’t done so already. Check to see if 60 fps Drop frame yes is selected in Preferences. Enable Hardware decoding in Preferences/Hardware acceleration. That is all the suggestions I have as I edit 4k/60p hevc GoPro videos without the audio issues.
Others may want to chime in with their GoPro editing experience.

This is news for me that the PD5 trial version does not expire for a 20 year old computer. That is win XP for me.

edit i actualy got it working, how do i get the background to fade with it?
You can apply the same fade transitions to the background or apply the fades by enabling them in the PiP Designer for that in the background track.

Try this: Click the Create disc tab. If the page does not open then you could get an informational message that the version needs an upgrade. That would be the reason the chapter button would be grayed out. Let us know in your next reply if this is the case and the exact version number by clicking on the word PowerDirector on the top left.

It is possible that the clips that you are using have a variable frame rate and/or a variable audio bit rate. Please supply a copy of the mediainfo of the clip that has the problem. Here is a link to Mediainfo online if you don't have the app on the laptop : https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline . Attach the mediainfo on your next reply.

See this article: https://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/medion/akoya_e4055_d_md_8365/414462/specs/ . That pc came with win 7 nine years ago. Many users upgraded to win 10 already. Do you really need that recovery partition? You can get rid of it with Disk Management. Your cloning software may also give that capability. I am sure that you may have already done backups over the years to protect yourself from lost data.
You can contact Cyberlink support here: https://www.cyberlink.com/support/index.html . Go to Contact Us/Account, Purchase & Subscription Issues/Others. You can then fill in all the information you want to give them and then Click the Submit button. You could also link your post and attach all those screenshots if you want.
|
|
From your screenshot, click the button on the top left of the PowerRecover window to get a popup menu or screen to view the Build and SR number needed to contact Cyberlink Support.
Don’t want to argue what you perceive as most users do things differently as some may with trial and error.

It has been a while since I cloned a boot drive. Do it the same way you do it as the sata connections are faster than any usb connections. Some bios allow you to turn off booting from other drives. Afterwards, I don't have any problem as I use a usb external drive enclosure on the original boot drive so I don’t have the problems that you describe to make any changes to make it non booting before placing it back in the pc as a second internal drive.
You need to contact Cyberlink support to report this to them as this is a users forum where Cyberlink personnel don’t monitor.

I duplicated DavidADS findings years ago when I replaced a monitor with an LG with internal speakers like what he is using. The internal audio amplifier is something like 2 Watts/channel and distorts easily with music turned up. Do not have the problem at all with the same music on Realtek audio driven by a powered 3 piece speaker system made for computers. Hard to hear distortion with the dynamic range on a good audio system when the yellow clipping is shown in the sample clips and other users' project timeline screenshots. I always lower the volume to where the visible clipping does not occur anyway. Could not find the audio specs online for the monitor he has.
Edit: Glad that optodata helped with the audio solution while I was still typing.

English:
The information window popup message indicates that the optical disc medium and size selected is too small in capacity. To verify this post a screenshot of the Create Disc/2D tab page as an attachment on your next reply.
Go to the Create Disc/2D tab and click the DVD button and then click the dropdown arrow and change the 4.7 GB to 8.5 GB. If that still is not enough then click the Blu-Ray button and then click the dropdown arrow below it and choose from 25 GB to 100 GB. You should be able to create up to a 100 GB image on that hard drive with more than 1.5 TB of free space.
Let us know if this solves the problem.

Is there a cleaner method to obtaining the ripple effect over the video? Do they have an 'ease-in' 'ease-out' setting I'm missing?
You could place the ripple effect over the whole clip and keyframe each of the 4 parameters starting at the minimum which shows none of the effect. Keyframe the ending just like in the beginning to avoid that ‘jerk’.

I have no problems creating avchd dl or bd discs in PD17. Years ago I found that the Amazon cloud storage driver which is also supplied in the PD previous versions causes PD14 not to be able to burn a disc. Authoring will be 99% complete but the created folders can be burned successfully with imgburn. Editing and Producing videos with stereo audio can be done in PD365. Authoring must be done in PD17 if 5.1 audio is needed. Burning will be done with imgburn. This is my workflow today using Win 10 and now Win 11.
The i7-4770 cpu is lacking the tpm 2.0 hardware required for an upgrade to Win 11 using the windows update. You can still install Win 11 if you want by downloading it from the Microsoft website. I see no advantages with it on a desktop for video editing. It is better suited for a laptop to save energy.
If PD17 is believed to be the root of your problem then why not contact support and see what they say. More than likely I believe many users and contributors on this forum find it necessary to find workarounds to the issues they find. I post my workarounds to users that have the same issues. Most are happy. as far as I know.

Please see this FAQ#1: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/80867.page where you can contact Support with proof of purchase.
If your old win 8 laptop is still working, then do a search based on date to see the PD13 downloads and content packs made during that day and time. You can then backup those PD13 downloaded files to a usb flash drive to install it on your new win 10 laptop. This would be faster as you don’t have to wait for a reply from Support.

I have the first one on the list. Any of those listed for the Windows pc should work as many users are successful with whatever they have.

The first link for the DZ above is for Camera Shutter as a 16:9 AR Motion Objects so you should find it in the PD14 media library/PiP Object room/Downloaded. I used it as a transition in the past even though it is not an actual transition. Good Luck with it!!

You would want to produce your videos using an AVC custom profile that matches your source clips. Click the Profile Analyzer button located on the top left of the Produce Page to help get you started.

Piero_milani_1 - This issue has been duplicated on my system when the Pref/Editing/Reverse timeline track order is used and your title is at a lower number track like #2 and your videos are on the higher tracks like #4 as shown on your screenshots.
The placement of titles should always be on a higher number track regardless of whether the timeline track is reversed in prefs or not and the issue is solved.

Ideally the video sharpness settings should be set all the way to the left for the highest resolution without any artificial artifact in most cameras. You can try the blur filters to possibly reduce the halos around objects and grains caused by the previous sharpening.
Possibly another contributor may know a different way to fix it.

It is all up to you how you want to do it. If you have a miniDV camcorder capable of the feed thru then I would recommend that you use the WinDV to capture as DV-AVI type 2. This is the best format in my opinion. You can use PD20 to edit and produce a DVD folder, mp4, and deinterlace using other tools, etc.

Does this same clip have audio when played in the media library? If it does then Click and Drag it to the timeline to replace it and check for audio. That clip audio may be missing the decoder needed if it is, say dolby digital 5.1.
You can check the Windows properties/detail and/or the PD20 show properties on that clip to find out. Alternative would be to use vlc or mediainfo to find out.
