There are several ways to get individual clips identified in your timeline. It depends a bit on the approach you want to take to get to your production.
One obvious candidate is to use precut. That allows you to select clips from your overall video and identify them separately before you add them to the timeline. You can rename the pre-cut clips by changing the alias of the clip (right mouse click and select from the menu). Then drag the segments to their places in the timeline. In the before mentioned menu there is the option to find the clip back in the timeline, should you have many. This approach will also allow you to use the clips identifiers/aliases in other projects.
The other way is to edit / change the alias of a clip in the timeline by right mouse click and select edit alias in the menu. There is a short cut / hot-key for that: Alt-n.
As said, it depends on the workflow you use which method works best for you. Either way you see the alias in the clip in the timeline.
There is a third option, which is less elegant because the “alias” does not show in the clip in the timeline, that is using clip markers. You can set markers at multiple places in the same clip and give them a name/alias. (like: clip is called Waving, and two markers in the clip called: start wave and end wave). Hovering over the clip marker reveals the name set. Make sure that you have set the clip marker track to show.
Hope that this helps.
Quote It's definitely stilll possible in the latest version of Windows, Wary.

Although it's possible some video files won't allow it. But every time I've hovered over the blank area adjacent a metadata listing it's become available to add the metadata.

Yes, thanks Steven, that is also what is see. I tried in vain with MPG and MKV, and it may be that they are not supported: apparently from what this exiftool supports?

WarRy
Quote You know you can do a lot of that right in Windows for free.

Just right-click on the file, select Properties and then add the metadata under the Details tab.

Did you try that recently, Steven? It is the most elegant solution of course, by lack of an internal PD feature. But, in my (very recent) version of WIndows I do not seem to be able to edit any of the meta data in the details field. Sometimes I can change the rating, and I can do more changes to e.g. JPG files. But that is it. Any hints how to solve that?
I can change many Mp4 files, but no MPG files. Any clues?
If you have muted by un-tagging the audio from the track, all clips within that track will be muted. No way to get around that. There are three ways to solve this:
1) produce the to be muted part of your clip in isolation and insert the resulting clip to replace the original clip, or
2) Move the to be muted clip part to a separate track and mute that track.
3) selected the to be muted clip and unlink audio and video en delete the audio-part.
Obviously 2 and 3 are the easiest solutions, but 1 may be more convenient if you have a more complex timeline.
It helps to understand whether the video is lagging behind the audio or audio behind video. If I understand you well, when previewing your clip in the timeline, the audio en video are out of sync. And the shifted and produced video is out of sync but when shown from the timeline in the preview screen in sync again?
If video and audio are from the same source AND the already play well in a video-media-player (let us know!), it may have to do with either the software or the PC capacity (or sometime the drivers).
So I would recommend to check whether the drivers are up to date, and
As this might have to do with the PD preview settings: check that out: If the preview quality is set higher than the PC may be able to handle given the format of the clip, the video may be stuttering of lagging behind. I would certainly try and set the preview quality a bit lower and see what happens.
Let us know how this works out!
Applying color presets and effects is done differently. Color presets usually apply to the whole videoclip and effects can apply to the whole clip of parts thereof.
If you select an item in the effect room, then please notice the (subtle) direction in the bar just above the timeline. It can say things like:
Drag the selected video effect to the effect track, or to a video clip to apply the effect on the entire clip. Or
Drag the effect to the video clip to apply it to the entire clip.
If you want to apply a color preset to only part of the clip, then the thing to do is split the clip at the points before and after the portion of the clip you want to apply the color preset at.
Also note that color presets do not (always) work on still images, color LUTs do.
I hope that this answer your question. Otherwise please show us the (odd?) behavior of PD.
Maybe it is me, but the image you are trying to show, does not show on my screen. Maybe that image explains what you are after, otherwise, please elaborate!
And mind you, there is something wrong with them. They do not work as templates should.

Did you try this:
Assuming that all videos the "connecting" sound is clearly noticeable, drag the videos into the timeline, each video on its own track.
It will be some work to give each video its place in the resulting video, but you may want to set the size of the first clip and then do a copy / past of the attributes of the first clip onto all the others to give them an equal size and them move each clip to its correct place.
Then you can sync the audio simply by selection all videos in all tracks, and click on the Sync by Audio. I have tested this with only a coupe if tracks I don’t know whether there is a limit to this. But once PD is done and (again I think that that is important) the connecting sound can be recognized by PD), you should have something to work with. Maybe try this with 3 or 4 the test this out?
Let us know this goes!
There are a number of options in the partical designer. And the particals can be used together with titles in separate tracks. What do you have in mind?
Good morning!
No there is not a way to enlarge the small screen in the right-hand top corner. As there is not for a number of other designer screens. It would indeed be awesome if there was an option. Maybe file a suggestion to that effect to CL via the rate us & provide suggestions in the File menu.
Hmmm. Also have a look at this and maybe look around what has been written about 360 in the manual:
https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/powerdirector/19/enu/04_04_00_360_projects.html

I dont work with 360 files so I had to look around a bit myself. : What I started to do is resetting the splash screen (preferences/confirmation/reset.) which I dont use too. Then reopen PD and in the opening screen select 360 files. And open in full mode. (and maybe tag the always open full mode again if you so wish) In my system the 360 appeared as an option and everyting worked as descrived in the manual.

Let us know whether you can make it work too.

have fun!
Maybe reading this will help.
https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/powerdirector/19/enu/09_09_00_360-start-view-settin.html?q=change+starting+view

Also set the format to 360 (right under the preview screen), and select disable 360 view mode (with slip selected in the timeline).
Quote I can think of a few reasons why you might be seeing that error, and we'll have to run through a few steps to figure out what's going on.

The first is to download and try to import some of these sample .ts clips. I chose two at random (sample_1280x720_surfing_with_audio and sample_3840x2160) and they both imported into PD365 perfectly.

If those work on your system too, then the issue probably has something to do with your particular clips.

If you have one that's smaller than 100MB you can use the Attachments button below the forum's text box to upload it directly here. If your clip is larger than that, upload it to Google Drive or OneDrive and paste a publicly shareable link to it here.

See this FAQ for more details.

What I get when inserting these files into the timeline, is an error message telling me that the TS file is broken or contains an error. The file does not load. It hints to uncheck the shadow file option in preferences. When I do so, the files insert fine in the timeline....
When I repeat the process, first switching the shadow tag ON again, I sometimes get the error message but the file still load Okay into the timeline. CL should have a look at these, because the program behavior is not consistent. Also when the file load correctly into the timeline, the preview screen is empty, until you start to play...
I will repeat my suggestion to CL to add some error-number or code to the message, so that the reference to the message can be made once CL has added possible errors and error messages to the manual...
I have done some testing, and using the very latest version of PD (365) this error does not occur in my system. Maybe give a bit more information, e.g. what version PD you use and what you have in your media room and/or what other circumstances there are? Even adding a DXdiag file (see instructions) will help.
By the looks of it the MSI MPG Trident A 10TG 1283MYS is a good machine for (PD) video editing too.
The system disk (1Tb ssd M.2 i understand) may be fast enough, depending on the brand/speed of the m.2 disk, but I would recon that at some point soon you will need / want another internal or external (hard) drive to accodate for (all) your video files and projects; if not for the space then for the safety and saving your system disk.
Reinstallation is always an option, but can you tell us a little bit more about the two videos you apparently have issues with.
It would help if you tell how you apply the fades, are they newly made in 365 or did you use the PD17 project file; ect. Any more details will help helping you.
And maybe show (making a screen recording and submit it here) what is happening?
Go to Effect Room (or press F4)
Click on “import icon” at the top left corner
Click on “Import Color Presets and CLUTs”
Select the Clut you want to import
Most (all?) of the transition packs I have appear to show NO size indeed. They all work for me though.
have a look at this topic here
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/84360.page
that we discussed recently.
Can you show us, give an example of what you see?
Also you can switch off the usage of the graphics card, check if that helps in any way.
