I have just gone into tiles and noticed that I now have ZERO custom titles. I remember a few years back I had the same problem and asked for help to get them back, but I can't remember what the solution was.
So I am asking the same thing again, as I know I did get them to reappear.
You just need to add a 2D title effect to the timeline like a video clip, and then use one of the text presets, as shown in the UI on the following help page, to select a creative font style:
QuoteI've just done another test, and checked the folder. I opened the file in the MyPinPs/Mask folder called "CustomMask.XML" and the location referred to is "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\17.0\Cache\photoTmp\" which only contains the 4 brush masks (.png images) I have recently created as tests, nothing from June. So it DOES look as though somehow the PowerDirector Cache was cleared which removed all my previously created masks from June (and there were lots..).
See attached.
How and when does the PowerDirector Cache get cleared? Is it time based, or did I inadvertently click on something. Or is it related to creating a new/different project in the interim, which I have done, and which did not use any masks..
Thanks.
Hi,
The only way to affect the cache clearance through the UI is Preferences>General>Auto delete temporary files.
The default is 30 days, but that can be altered under the drop down to a max of 60 days.
Or uncheck it it to disable Auto-Delete.
There is a manual delete option.
I'm not sure why your masks should be in the cache but it looks like they were and have now been deleted (if the auto-delete is active).
Further testing on your system options might be the only way forward to ensure masks are saved where they are available. If you only have PDR17 installed, it should be simpler. Masks seem to be version specific, in that my PDR17 masks do not appear in other versions, I have PDR8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 365 installed, so I can't be categorical about some things!!!
Others might have additional experience to pass on?
QuoteI've been working on a project for a while, haven't touched it for a couple of months and all my custom masks have disappeared!
Where are they stored?
I have been using a green screen earthquake/boulders/dust effect on top of a video, then overlaying that video again and masking a person so that it appears they are in front of the earthquake. Because they are moving, I split the clip often and modified the mask and saved it again. This worked when I was going back into the project and editing it the next week - the multiple edited masks still existed, but I think that as I haven't worked on it for a while, they seem to have disappeared - even from previously saved backup files that I have (old-school) saved along the way.
Am I able to retrieve them from anywhere? Are they not saved in the PDS file? Are they somehow outside my project in a temporary file that has now disappeared?
Appreciate any help..
Hi,
Not sure I follow you 100% but in my PDR17, custom masks, saved though the Mask Designer, are saved in
C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\17.0\MyPinPs\PinP_000
Note they are not saved with the Alias name but as a sequential number, so it's not so easy to identify each one.
The thumbnail of the mask should be available in the Mask Designer > Mask Properties > Custom Masks selection window.
Are you saying that none of your masks appear in that window? or have I misunderstood your issue.
Screenshots or a screen cap of the issue would be beneficial.
QuoteMy version 14 has been crashing the past few weeks. I thought it was triggered by the import of video clips but I had the same crash today while simply logged in and trying to rate the product and send suggestions (an option in the app). The crash usually takes about a minute and it just shuts the program down and gives me a popup window to send an error report to Cyberlink. The title is 'PDHanumanSvr.exe has stopped working."
My OS:
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 22H2
Installed on 2/13/2023
OS build 22621.1992
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0
Can anyone help please?
Thanks. Andy
Hi,
Not sure about what is happening. My copy of PDR 14.1810.0 seems to work fine on my Win 11 system.
If it has been working previously, then started crashing, it's likely that your system has changed - perhaps Win updates, added software or driver updates?
If you have the original install disc/files then you might try an uninstall and reinstall and see if that allows PDR14 to function correctly in any new system environment.
QuoteAfter creating a motion slide show and going back to edit the timing I find non of the image attributes on fade, postion as well as the duration is not saved. This makes it impossable to make changes and keep the same presentation.
Any thoughts on how to save the data to recreate the same slideshow?
Hi,
Can you elaborate on your workflow process and particularly at what point you want to re-edit?
I've just created a Motion Slideshow, but can return and Customize the settings several times.
You could also take a copy of the sldeshow at a point place it onto a different timeline track and use that as a template for future re-editing?
More information would help members offer suggestions.
Thanks so much for the info!
My system is as follows:
MB Gigabyte TRX 40 AORUS Pro WiFi
CPU Ryzen Threadripper 3960X
RAM Samsung DDR4 128GB
GPU nVidia RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition
SSD X2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB
OS Windows 10 Pro 64bit
I'll try those tips, and see if it helps.
In the years I've used PowerDirector, I've never had it crash before.
Now, all of a sudden, all it wants to do is crash...
Hello,
Please also attached your DXDiag file, which can help a lot by providing insight into what is happening in your system:
QuoteI used Transition Designer and made a transition out of each image in the slideshow, as suggested at the end of the tutorial video.
I liked it better after I added a fade out to the preceding image, before launching the transition.
I want to make the later ones fade out a bit smoother. I don't know what my problem is yet.
Hi,
I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on this - the designer doesn't have a sophisticated UI so control is limited. Some of my transitions seem to work as expected, but others seem to have the hard ending that you describe. I can't find the common reason yet, but I'll try to spend more time on it.
Have you made any further progress on figuring it out?
