Hello,

Can you try:

1. Selecting the clip on the timeline.

2. Clicking Fix/Enhance button.

3. Deselecting the Color Match check box.

This should remove the applied color match.

Cheers

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am pretty sure I tried that, but no, the "fixed" version did not "unfix" when I unclicked the box.

I wound up doing the "workaround," and that got the better fixed versions from the previous version into the video.

But now I am finding another clip from that same camera with the same problem: Had been "Matched," now it doesn't match. the "i" is still in the box in the corner of the file on the timeline. I thinkI am seeing what happened. All these clips are on track3, and whatever the source, they all have the little "i" in the corner. When I hover over it I see that it refers to a "lighting adjustment." I remember making a lighting adjustment for one clip, but I guess this is what happens when you click "apply to all?"

Lesson learned. Fortunately all the otehr clips than this last one I just discovered look fine with the adjustment, and I am guessing that the "Color Match" is affected by "Extreme Backlight."
I am editing a large project with many video files from different cameras. The images from one of the cameras arrived with a very deep blue tint. I was able to use "Color Match" to adjust them all into colors that were close enough to the other cameras for the purpose of the video.

Then, while I am putting the final touches on the project before burning a disk, I notice that the video from two clips from that camera have apparently reverted back to their original blue tint, although the little "i" in the corner is still there.

I tried using "Color Match" to get them back to the colors that were closer to the other footage, and it worked for one of the files, but the other, while closer, still had a light bluish tint, and now had an unrealistic glow in the sky.

I went back to the last version I had saved under a different file name, and saw the previous "fix" was stil there. I thought that by copying and pasting those clips into the current version, it would transport the correct "fixing." It does not seem to have worked. It appears that the "fixing" that I did in the current program is sticking to the footage that I have pasted from the older version.

So I have two possibilities:
1. Is there a way to undo the "fix" to go back to the origingal color of the footage so I can try to "color match" again or else manually adjust the colors to be closer to the other footage?

...or...

2. Should I just use the workaround of taking the footage from that properly corrected version of that one scene, creating it as a whole separate project, saving it, producing it, then dropping it into the place of the one that is giving me the problem, and move on?

Wel, I tried that. andit loosk like I have the file there. I will download that program and try burning a disk in the morning.

Thanks!

I downloaded the program and successfully burned the disk! Thanks!
Quote My first thought is that the program is still choking on your lack of hard drive free space. 16 gig is still pretty tight for transcoding video. I start to panic when my drive gets below 50-75 gig. And, though some people thinks it's an antiquated concept, I still defrag my drive, especially when free space starts getting low. That keeps all the free space in one spot so that programs can better use it for creating and moving large temp files.

You also don't say how long your movie is. But try making a copy of your project file as a test and cut it down to about a 10 minute movie and try to output DVD files from there. If that works, then the issue is definitely hard drive free space, since the program can transcode shorter movies but not a larger epic.

The movie is about one hour and 50 minutes long. So I guess I will just take the first ten minutes and try that.

I am using a dual-layer disk because the disk-burning function wants to burn it at 740 x 480/60i (9.5Mbps) and says that is 8095 MB.

In the meantime, I will defrag my computer right now. I did not know that's what deefragging the computer woudl do
Quote Try this: Check Create a folder only(8172 MB). Use ImgBurn(freeware) to burn to a blank DVD DL disc. You will be unlikely to waste a disc if the size is 98% or less. If you want, use Power2Go to burn the folder to disc and get similar results.

The created folder may already be there for you to burn to disc using either program if you know where to look.

Thanks for the reply!

Where is the "create a folder only" button? Or is it what happens when you uncheck "Burn a disk" and check "Create a folder?"
Quote What are the specs of the video you are trying to edit and what device created them?

Also, what operating system are you using with which processor, and how much free space is on your hard drive?

THank you for getting back to me. Your question about the free space inspired me to look into it. I had been working with few enough avaiable GB that the program would not burn until I sent the Disk Image and Folder to an external hard drive.

So I went in and moved or deleted enough files to make free a total of 16 GB out of 459, and I am tried to burn a new disk.

At 61% of Authoring, it stopped and a pop-up appeared saying "Somehow, the program has stopped."

As to your other questions:

The videos ae from a variety of cameras and an Android cell phonefrom 2018, in a variety of resolutions and even aspect ratios. Most are hi-def, 16:9, but one is standard-def, 4:3.

I edited the entire project on Cyberlink Power Director 19.

The processor is "AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.30 GHz"

The OS is Windows 11.
I had 365 on my computer from over a year ago and never used it. I was having trouble burning a disk in PD19, so I tried it in the free version of 365 I had, and it worked, but there were some blank spots in the video.

It turned out that the program was not reading certain video files. I downloaded the current free version of 365, and though it recognizes and plays all the files, now when I try to burn a disk it doesn.t work.

The "Authoring" starts quick enough, but by the time it gets to 31% it slows doen, and eventually i got the pop-up that said the burning had been stopped, while the Authoring was stuck at 44%.

I closed the program, restarted the computer, and tried again. Again, it started fast, then slowed, and it has been at 42% for almost an hour.

Am I missing something here?
I have a project that is one hour and 50 minutes long. It is made up of video clips of a variety of resolutions and frame rates, but I want to master it at 1280x720/24p. I am trying to burn it onto a dual-layer disk of 8.5GB. When I go to "Burn Disk," the indicator at the bottom left corner says that the project is going to be 8172 MB and the only "Encoding Format and Quality" options I get are "MPEG-2," and "HQ720 x 480/601 (9.5Mbps)" and "SmartFit."

SmartFit takes the size to 8427 MB.

I have tried burning a disk both ways and it has failed both ways, cancelling at about 56% burned.

I tried reducing the size of the project by deleting clips from the timeline that were not visible or audible because there was another clip on the screen and/or the clip was muted. Then not only did I Produce the video, I then ran it through Handbrake to compress it a bit. I think this trick worked, because I was able to burn a disk. However, when I played the disk on my DVD player, I discovered that I edited out too much. There was some missing footage in the program.

So I fixed that, adding back the footage that was left, and then I noticed the "Profile analyzer" in the "produce" page. OF the optiins available I selected one that had the resolution and frame rate I wanted. I "proiduced" it, and got a video that was only 1.5GB. I watched it on my computer. I t looked great, with all the hi-res intact.

I loaded that file into PowerDirector19, dropped it into the timeline, and when I went to "Burn Disk" I got the same numbers and the same result as I did with the full-size project with all the clips intact. I tried burning it anyway. Again, it failed at 56%. I tries with SmartFit. Same result.

On top of that, when I looked at the file that was created, the resolution was much lower than the original.

What am I missing here? How can I get my project to bun onto a disk?

PS: The last project I had was failing repeatedly with Staples disks, but worked when I used WinData disks. I have been only using WinData disks now.

Hi,

Not as far as I am aware.

Nearest thing I can think of is to use subtitles formatted to the top left with X=-1.00, Y=-100 but that's maybe as much work??

Cheers

Wait, there is a "subtitles" function, separate from the Text function?
I have ab project with over 100 clips of 5-to-10 seconds in length, and I want to have a number appear in the upper-left corner of each one in sequence, so the viewere can keep thack of them as gthey go by.

I know I can simply use the text tool to put a number in each clip, one by one, but is there a way to do that automatically?
I have a video of about 100 5 and 10 second long clips, and I want to put a two seciond break between each of them.

I figured out that if I just create a 2-second clip (like a title), I can insert that between each clip and then delete all of those 2-second clips without moving the remaining clips, but is there a way to automatically "create break between all clips?"
I am trying to make a disk, and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the "direction" buttons (to enable to user to go to the next page of chapters) to "highlight" when pressing the buttons on a DVD remote control.

I know the function is there because if I count the number of times I press a directional button, I can predict what will happen when I push the "Enter" button.

The chapter links highlight according to the icon I select, but not the direction buttons.

The direction buttons do "highlight" (the ones I select show a blue underline) when I am "previewing" the disk on my laptop, but not when using the disk I burned in the DVD player and viewing it on the TV.

Am I missing something? ARe those buttons supposed to "highling" when the disk is playing and you are pushing the buttons?

It looks like the DVD Folder is talking about the original source video being from a DVD. Sadly, that is not the case here. I created the video from scratch on PowerDirector 19 and I am tryihng to get it onto a DVD for duplication.

If there is a way to create the folder or file after setting the menu and all the chapter breaks without burining it to a disk so that then I can take a clash drive or external hard drive to the duplication service, I am all ears.

Thanks!

Well, it turned out that the problem was the burnewr. I went to BestBuy, got me a new DVD burner for $35, the first atetempted burn stopped plaing in my palyer about halfway through, the second time it worked perfectly!

So now all I have to do is fix two glaring typos in the titles, set my menus, and I will be ready to make copies!

Thank you for your attention, folks.

See this FAQ: https://www.cyberlink.com/support/faq-content.do?id=1567#:~:text=A%20DVD%20folder%20is%20a%20folder%20that%20contains,folder%20on%20your%20hard%20disk%20as%20the%20destination. . Use VLC as suggested by Barry to play this video folder. Burn it either using Cyberlink Power2Go menu Video Disc/ Burn DVD Folder. Most advanced users use ImgBurn as suggested by Barry, These are free burner software.

If you like you can buy more expensive software like Nero, etc. to do the same job. The LG optical drives cam come with their own tools and software for their burner that may be used.

Quote When you burn a video-DVD look at the content in your file explorer.
For DVD you get 2 folders:
Video, which contains the video files, and menu if you have a menu.
Audio folder, which always appears empty.
Those 2 folders, and any sub folders are what is actually on the dvd!
So, skip the physical DVD and just burn the folder, remember where you save it.
If you get a successful folder burn you can test it with VLC, or Powerdvd, or any other app that can play a folder structure.
If all is well you can then either reburn to disc or use the folders to burn the disc using Power2go or imgburn or any folder burning app.

Wait...these folders are what I get when I burn the DVD...the trouble is I am not having any success burning the DVD, so how do I ge the folders?

My ultimate objetive is to make DVDs that people can use on their DVD/Blu-ray players. Can Power2go and imgburn do that?
Quote Did you try a folder burn? Attempting to burn to a folder first saves discs.
Did you try without a menu? Early fails can be a bad menu.
Burn slower speed, disable HA.
Staples discs are crap.
Get Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, or Verbatim.
Be sure your burner is free of dust,

Thanks for all this!

Never heard of a "folder burn." I will look it up.

I have not made a menu yet.

If HA is Hardware Accelleration, the only HA I had selected was "enable hardware decoding," but I will try it with that deselected.

I turned my laptop off last night ant turned it on this morening. If all this does nto work today I will get new disks and a dust-blower (but the disk burner has been in the box most of the time, so that's a low-perscentage play, I think).
I am trying to burn a disk of my latest project.

I am using a Double Layer DVD+R DL from Stabples, 8.5 GB 8x speed.

The program defaulted to HQ 720 x 480/30i (9.5bps), 6556 MB, and at "Smart Fit" would go to 6761 MB.

I completely "authors," but only goes to 1% of "Burning" befro eit stops and the notice pops up that says

"Burning unsuccessful
Error code eEB020B88"

I have tried with bothe the defauls and Smart Fit settings, and made sure that it was set for the 8.5 GB DVD (after using the 4.6 GB setting first). Got the exact same result each time

I tried

I am using an LG Slim Portable Blu-ray/DVD writer, Model # BP50NB40 from 2017 hooked up to a Dell Inspiron 64-bit 15 3000 running Windows 11 Home.

What am I missing here?
Quote For a 16:9 Aspect Ratio project, 720/60p simply means 1280 x 720 resolution at 60 frames a second. Same meaning for the other one.

I rendered it under the setting I described and it worked! It was done in about an hour or so! I had been tryng other things that were taking multiple hours and sometimes not getting done at all.

Thanks!
Quote Close PD and copy and paste this location into Windows File Explorer: C:\Users\zorik\OneDrive\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Preview Cache Files\team1_0a48b8c7.mp4

You might need to remove the file name (team1_0a48b8c7.mp4) to view it in the folder, or you can go online with your browser and find it from the OneDrive webstite.

If you can play that clip from there, it will show you which timeline clip is causing problems and you can try converting the original clip to another format using a free tool like VirtualDub2 or Handbrake.

To seamlessly integrate the converted clip into your existing project, rename the original clip then copy the converted version to the same folder and give it the exact same name that the original clip had. When you reopen the project in PD, it will use the new version of the clip and hopefully you won't see the error message again.

Thnaks! I will try that!
