1 minute video (1920x1080):
AVC H.264 @ 16MBps = 116MB
HEVC H.265 @ 16MBps = 118MB
HEVC H.265 @ 10MBps = 73.4MB (~60%)
HEVC H.265 @ 8MBps = 58.1MB(50%) * in this render, the differences showed up in fast sections
1 minute 4K project:
AVC H.264 @ 24MBps = 171MB
HEVC H.265 @ 24MBps = 172MB
HEVC H.265 @ 15MBps = 109MB (~60%) *
HEVC H.265 @ 10MBps = 73MB (~40%) *
Hi Tony,
you don't need to use the same bit rate in H.265
H.265 saves your disk space because it can use less bit rate to get the same quality as H.264
For example, 24Mbps in H.264 may need only 16Mbps in H.265

To the King
What format, 4K ?, and how much space did it save? Is it as clean as 264 PQ wise?
I assume you used PD13 to generate the file?
MP4 with FullHD, I don't have 4K camcorder now
It saves about 30% space and I can't find the difference with my eyes.
And I use PD13

It is a new feature of v13.
I think it's a big feature...don't know why the product page doesn't highlight it.
"High DPI Mode NEW"

How about backup it to cloud? It's a new feature.

I've tried it with PowerDVD 14 and works fine...as my expectation

Dafydd, While you are bothering CL, it would be great if under AVCHD Disc option if we could select BD as well as DVD, SD Card etc....
Nathan
I guess CL cannot do anything with that because it's the spec of AVCHD which does not allow BD as media.
Moreover, 50/60p and 3D contents are not allowed to burn to DVD.

Smart Sound is royalty free materials...so it should not be the root cause.

Hi Bill,
it is used to split recording result.

If your platform is fast enough and you want the best output quality, I suggest to disable HW encode, sometimes new driver makes new problem, and nVidia has bad records (remember the rendering issue?)
|
|
Looks like nVidia keeps messing their driver for video editing...
It does not happen on my laptop with GT540M, I guess only particular GPUs have this problem.
|
|
Only Panasonic and SONY do well on auto focus when shooting video...
Nikon and Canon? They got smoked.
|
|
DSLR is not an easy tool for shooting daily life video, manual focus kills most of users.
You also need to invest gears like mic, rig, monopod, steadicam, etc. if you are going to shoot seriously.
|
|
I think your system is fast enough, did you apply some heavy loading effects? you can try to use High preview quality instead of HD/FullHD when editing, it does not affect the final result.
|
|
I suggest to use Intel 4rd Core i(aka Haswell) since PowerDirector is optimized for its AVX2 instructions and 4K accelerations.
|
|
I mean, when professional studio like Hollywood companies, they make DVD, BD or online stuff then other companies who own the codec will charge more royalty fee because Hollywood use the codec to make money.

"Power Director 12.0.2420.0"
You are already using the latest 2420, I guess let's why you can't patch it to 2420 again.
"9 Tried to Click the Velocity 4 check and the other high speed options but they were greyed out"
I guess you mean the "Enable hardware video encoder" option, if so, make sure you select H.264 in video and audio settings under the disc format.
Only AMD's GPU supports MPEG-2 hardware encode, others support H.264 only.
|
|
Hi Nitai,
I remember the EULA mentioned that you can use the bundled content/template to make video.
The commercial using issue should come from codec like MPEG2 or H.264, it's not possible to charge the same royalty fee to us and Warner Brothers

Try the latest patch?
