Is there any advantage to using a high DPI mouse for video editing vs a low DPI mouse for editing ?
before i purchase a desktop with a GPU Nvidia GTX 2070, are there any issues with it that i need to be aware of ?
see attached photo
Quote Any one else have issues with PD17 locking up randomly and crashing?
Then we you try to relaunch the program it gives you that Current User Sessions Not Supported message...only to have to reboot several times to get it to clear??
Tired of it...how can any one be dependant on this program to actual get shit done??

I have been using it about a full year or more...not a problem with it...works well. Sorry your computer is not running the Version 17 very well...
Andy, when you produce a movie in Power Director, the file can be saved in a folder on your computer. You can then copy the produced file into your USB memory stick. But keep in mind, your chosen format of your movie needs to be compatible to the device that is going to read your video file. For instance, if you chose to use AVI as your format, the device must then be capable of reading the AVI file and opening it up to display it... Just find out what the device requires to display your movie..then produce the movie to match the specs of the player.

So, the short answer is yes...

Drummer Boy, I purchased Power Director Utimate 15 and later on Power Director Ultimate 17, and use the multi camera editor with 3 and 4 cameras. The PD 15 and PD 17 both have an audio lag with multi camera editor...But, when i go back to my re-installed Power Director Ultimate 14 the audio is fine with the multi camera editor.

I also have audio lag with 3 and 4 camera editing in Power Director Ultimate 15, and Power Director Ultimate 17. But, none in Power Director Uttimate 14. So I always have to go back to Power Director 14 Ultimate to do my multi camera editing.

If you are using Powerdirector 16, it has the worst multi-cam function of any NLE on the market. Like you, I do most of my raw footage in 3 and 4 cam shoots. Trying to get PD-16 Multi-cam's feature to function (sync) properly is an exercise in futility. Combined with the fact that PD has no "audio follows video" function when changing/switching camera's, it can make for a very long and frustrating day. Don't get me wrong, PD is a GREAT product. For me however, that one single issue keeps me having to go back to a copy of Adobe Premiere CS-6 to do my multi-cam edits, produce it there and export it as an MP4. From that exported edit, I then bring it back into PD. Yea there is a little degradation but it works. If you don't want to purchase an Adobe CC license, you may take a look at any number of the other free alternatives (Lightworks, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, etc.). They should be able to handle the syncing for you. You can then bring it back into PD as an MP4. Hopes this helps.
In my case I was able to get rid of that -- busy server message- . It was being caused by a slow USB port connected to an external drive which stored the video clip I wanted to edit. I transferred the video clip to my main C drive, and every thing worked fine after that. Then changed my connection to the external hard drive with a USB 3 port, and that also worked for me ..
Quote That was the key! All the discs that work in that player are DVD-R and the new ones I'm burning are DVD+R.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Aaron

Aaron, I have previously done the same thing..😀

Quote I have burned a number of discs and they work fine in newer dvd players. However there is an older TV with a DVD VHS built into it that will not play the discs. Is there a setting I can use to make the discs play in an older DVD player?

The old TV built-in DVD player might be one that only plays DVD + R
and you might be creating a DVD - R. The old DVD +R player would not be able to play DVD -R

Quote All of a sudden all transition effects are in reverse, it's a lot of work to fix this, I wonder what is causing it?

(I am using PWD 13 (although I purchased 15, it was not quite compatable with my files created on 13)

I had the same problem..at times the transitions work fine, and some where along the editing, they work backwards. The only work around fix I have is to create a very short , by doing a split clip that you are transitioning. And manually shorten the transition, so it does not include the entire length of the newly created very short video clip that contains the transition. That works for me..

You might be having trouble finding the color chart...it is kind of hidden in the button "media content". This media content button is located about the 3 row from the top, when you open up the program that has the video tracks. Click on "Media Content" and it will open up a menu, giving you a choice to select "color boards", You can then drag and drop the color board onto the 1st video track.
Then select your title from the "title room", that would be the "T" in the left hand column. Drag the title of your choice onto the title track. Now that you have the title of your choice on the title track, you can right click on the title and it opens up lots of choices on color selection for your text. I hope that helps..
Thank you two for your fast reply and advice. Carl132, I did your advice, but it still did not take snap shots.....
and then I followed YnotFish advice and played with Confirmation, as per his screen shot, and it worked ! I got my snap
shot function back to Power Director 12. You guys are the best ! :

PS YnotFish..glad you discovered those little quirks..
I lost the ability to use the Photo icon Snap Shoot feature of Power Director 12. It was functioning fine, then stopped taking pictures when I clicked on the Photo Icon, even tried Editing file and snap shoot from there. I went back to Power Director 11 and it works. I reloaded Power Director 12, but it did not do any good, snap shoot feature does not work. Any suggestions ?
The culprit is the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000. that was the problem with our three video club HP All-in-one computers with Power Director 11. My personal HP Touch Smart lap top has the Intel(R) Graphics 4600 and that one works just fine....so I guess if your PW director 10 does not function, after unchecking the "Fast Video Rendering" box during the "Produce" process, try the trial version of PD 11 as a test or the trial version of PD 12 ? good luck
Sweeney, thanks for the tip, I had the same problem you experienced with the windows 8.1 update and Intel HD 4000 graphics...followed your advice, unchecked the "fast video rendering technology" and the video clip rendered lightning fast ! thanks again...

I also started getting the green band with PD11, and not with any other versions. On occasion I get that mysterious green video clip with audio. Iit is not consistent. when i get it, i go back to my saved "project pds file" and re-render it..and it goes away.

Since i have updated all the latest patches, in particular the patch that came out last month on January 2013, the issue seems to have disappeared.

I believe HalCon is right on..with the issue of viewing the video clip while it is in the time line...If your video clip is in your PD10 library..click on it directly and play it...should play like the original..

My preview of the video clips in the time line are not a good resolution..but, in the library, when I click on them and open them up, they are crisp..as the original

ProducerMelissa, if I under stand the question correctly, you want to copy a DVD, to your computer, then make DVD's to sell, of the copied DVD..right ? assuming there is no legal issue with you having permission to do so...then using PD 10 you can go to "CAPTURE" (after you have the subject DVD in your dvd player ) and click on the icon ( capture from a CD) that will lead you into a series of steps in which you have the file into your computer, then click on "CREATE DISK" and choose which format you want. There are probably other ways of doing it, and the other contributors can add to it. Also there are dedicated software programs that specialize in copying DVDs .
I have similar advice as RonH....split the video you want to modify....go to the Power Tools tab and select video speed, then when the new window opens, select video speed adjustment... and experiment with slowing down the video clip.
