You can put projects in the timeline and place a chapter at each one.
However, to put projects together on one disc and access each one as a seperate movie, you need a disc authoring program.

PowerDirector 5 and 6 support video in the pic'n pic timeline.

Dear extiguished colleages,
my model number os vf0250, notebook pro.
Middle of the pack camera, alot of barrel roll in the lens, I may even return it.
As stated, I removed the software, and have now found YAWCAM.
Not yet tested, but this freeware has the features I was looking for...
motion detection, emailing, ftp upload, does work with PD6.
Thanks for your attention.
|
|
I removed the application software, leaving only the driver. Now it works fine with PD6, but I no longer have all the cool features, motion detection, remote view, etc. Time to contact Creative Labs!

Hello Gents,
I have their latest software. Right out of the gate I found the camera and software not working properly, so I did update. I'd like to stop the Creative software from starting, without removal.

|
Just wondering, has anyone ever captured a webcam video with PD?
My Vista laptop and Creative camera won't play nice with PD6.
I hit capture, it says its detecting, then the Creative software starts up by itself, and crash.

Chroma-key should be BRIGHT green or blue. I had a green muslin screen that was not vivid enough and it caused me alot of grief.
I believe green is best for dark haired subjects, and blue for blondes.
I went to TUBETAPE.com and purchased a nice screen with 2 stands.
Wrinkles, BAD
uneven lighting BAD
crappy camera BAD.
You'll have to experiment, wrinkles and waves are the worst.
Be sure to pull your screen flat flat flat!
There's plenty of screen advice on the net.

Produce each file as an mpeg (for DVD).
You now have 4 movies named Mo, Larry, Curley, and Shemp.
Start a new project with all 4 in the library.
Bring each finished file into the timeline, one by one.
Add chapters where you wish.
Create DVD.

You may be missing one half of your sound, so even if it works, it may sound odd.
Let's be clear, you want to take your one captured sound channel and make it go thru both left and right channels in your finished product, correct? Let me ponder that a wee bit more.

Too late!
So many women, so little time...

Dafydd,
does PPMat export the files, or copies of them? Also, does it create/alter the Project File in case one might wish to do just ONE MORE EDIT?

In my opinion, an external hard drive is essential. Portable hard drives are very large now. What I do is put a velcro strip on my laptop lid, and on the ext hard drive. The ext drive hangs nicely on the lid and I can still be mobile, yet have an extra couple of hundred gb.
Either way, an external hard drive is the safest way to store a lifetime of memories, and back up ALL your info.
Online storage sites are another answer, but have an annual fee.

No problemo,
keep in mind, Youtube's 100mb limit, and 10 minute time restriction.
Take a look at the tutorials, bigger is not always better.
If the file is so large, it takes a long time to load for the viewer, they may just go to the next video.
Also, if you are using 16:9, or some other widescreen ratio, YT will not display it correctly. You will need to make your 16:9 video, then re-render into a 4:3, with the black lines at top and bottom.
THEN convert to FLV.
Sounds like a bit of work, but after you do it once or twice, you'll be able to do it in your sleep.

|
If you are getting too much pixelation, convert your files to FLV.
It's easy. On the SEEMYWORLD site, go to extras. There are 2 conversion programs, tutorials, and help.
You can upload a smooth, tightly knit file, if it's FLV.
Another program to convert is free video converter.

FLV is the way to go.

Please repost with PD6 version,
some more details about your system, and the type of capture you are performing.
I use Vista, only occasional crashes. I capture from a Canon Elura 100 mostly, no issues.
Your repost info will help the techies address your issue.
Look around the forum for similar postings.

There is no merge clip function.
What you can do is "Produce" the desired clips into a file, then import that file into a project.

|
Now now, you two play nice.
What's really important is the New England Patriots are gonna beat the tar out of the New York Giants tonight at the Superbowl!
GO PATS!!!

If it's any help...
Toshiba laptop A135-S4467
core 2 duo T5200 1.6 ghz
2 gig ram
32 bit vista
intel 945 express chipset
any problems I have arise from me, or the software gods,
my machine has plenty of git up n go.
I think ANY core 2 duo should be fine.

|
I understand the challenge, but it might be just as easy to keep a folder with all your favorite bits n peices for easy access to any project.

Am I missing something? If I need picinpic item I just download desired image of proper size resolution, from any website, or any picture, anything.Open in Adobe, use the magnetic lasso to cut out the exact item, place it in a transparent background, and I have a perfect image for tossing about the screen.
Plants, baseballs, footballs, bottles, people, lazer beams, I do 'em all.
Why does programming come into it?
|
|
If you join the SEEMYWORLD site, you can download a program that may open and convert your file. It is located on the page EXTRAS.
