Merge clips?
[Post New]
Is there a way to merge many clips into one? After chopping out a bunch of stuff from a long clip, I'd like to take the many remaining clips and merge them back into one long clip.

Thanks in advance.

There is no merge clip function.
What you can do is "Produce" the desired clips into a file, then import that file into a project. Join/SignUp to SeeMyWorldOnVideo. We're PowerDirector Video Editors. Are you a member? - JOIN TODAY!

I was wondering how to merge/combine two clips myself. When I saw this I just had to make a comment. I use PowerDirector 5 / Premium. I've done a lot of editing with it. On rare occasions I have used the "Combine clips" option on one of the drop down menus. However, I can't seem to get it to work now. No matter how I select two clips when I go to the "combine clips" option it is greyed out. A while back I contacted customer support and they also gave me directions to "Produce" a clip. Something is fishy here. I know that I've been able to combine clips. I just can't remember what was different that allowed me to use the "Combine Clips" option.

The other thing that makes no sense to me is this..... If you can only combine two clips by producing it, Whay is there even a menu option that says "Combine Clips"?

I think you can only comibine clips from the same file and the same time slice. Say you imported one.mpg and then you split it for some reason but no longer want the split. Selcted the two pieces and combine them. The combine feature should not be greyed out then. Combining parts of one.mpg that were split and a piece deleted in the middle I don't believe is possible other than to produce. Likewise, combining between two different clips, one.mpg and two.mpg is also not possible other than to produce.

Thanks for the reply. I have split a clip and then used the combine option to make them one clip again. I have also taken a clip and split it. I deleted one of the two and then combined the clip that was left with the next clip in the timeline. I have never combined/merged tow clips using "Produce". Something still seems to be iffy here. Sometimes I can combine clips and other times the "Combine" option is greyed out. ???
