Quote What settings do I need to get my Logitec C920 Pro to work?

Electrons are cheap; don;t try to save them. Tell us more. Please explain - what do mean by recognized? What do you mean by doesn't work?

Does it work with the Logitech included software?

Are you trying to capture to your system hard drive? What profile are you using? What video resolutions have you tried?

I assume that you are using a desktop. Do not use a USB port on the front of your computer. If you are using a HUB, make sure it is powered (again to a USB port on the back of your computer).

Please post the Windows dxdiag.exe file from the evaluation of your computer. You may also want to post screen captures of your setting so we have a place to start.

BTW my Logitech C910 works and has worked for several versions.
Quote Why do i suddenly have a "by power director" notice at the lower right side of all my videos?

"by" or "BUY"? It may be that your PowerDirector installation has become corrupted and may be acting like a trial version or OEM. Do a repair or reinstall the program.

Remember that there is a limited number of installs allowed and if you need more, you must contact Cyberlink directly.
Do you need Color Director? It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Brand name of blank DVD?

The fact that the place where it pauses changes indicates that you may have some badly manufactured DVDs. Use top brand names and not store brands. If these videos are important to you (like family memories), buy some JVC Taiyo Yuden, I've never had one fail either in burning or in storage.

When making a video DVD, time is the controlling factor. At best quality, only one hour of video can be burned to a DVD. More than that, you must reduce the quality to get it to fit. With a wmv file, you may notice the reduction in quality pretty quickly. Remember that you must add the navigation, menu and other items you may have added to the video.

By the way, your wmv video must be converted to mpg2 in order it to burn to a video disc for playback on a DVD player. A wmv data disc can be played back without conversion on your computer.

Also conside burning to a memory stick (thumb drive) if playback of a memory stick is an option for you.
Quote When burning a .wmv file to DVD using Power2go11 on play back of the DVD the action freezes in a number of places for a second or 2. When burning another DVD it did it again but in different places.

Thanks

My initial guess is that you are using poor quality blank DVDs. My second guess is that you have other programs running. My third guess is that your playback program is having issues.

Ae you making a video DVD or a data DVD. If video, how much time are you trying to burn to the DVD?
You are aptly named.

1) Depends on your computer/monitor or other playback device.
2) Do you guarantee you will be alive 20 years from now?
3) Do you guarantee that there will be NO changes in your computer or for industry standards for 20 years?

I'm sure your post was in jest and I answered in like for like. What information are you missing?

Remember also that this is a users forum and not Cyberlink Tech support. Contact Cyberlink directly if you need real answers.
We had nothing to do with Cyberlink's Home page nor with the PowerDVD information.
Quote New PD 16 user here. A bit overwhelmed by the learning curve, but thankful for all the tutorials and am enjoying the journey.

I've got the New Blue and Adorage add-ons and was wondering if there are ever patches or upgrades to these. I see there are regular updates to PD 16 and the other Cyberlink products for bug fixes and tweaks, but don't see any way to check for updates to the add-ons. Or are these 3rd-party utilities considered stable and complete and no new versions are necessary?

Just curious. Thanks.

These are 3rd party plug-ins that you get "free" with the purchase. After that you are on your own.

There are dozens of plug ins that you can buy. Look here.

You can sometimes make your own if you want to take the time and depending what you want.
Quote I am using a similar Sony with a VC-500 USB converter and I have zero issues. My instructions demanded I plug-in the device first, then run the disc with the driver.

Not doubting you and it may be that the original poster followed those instructions. It doesn't work for him.

I used a couple other devices and they gave the instuuctions to install drivers first. The devices were one from Pinnacle and 2 from Roxio (now Corel).

What does he have to lose if he follows the instructions to delete and then reinstall the drivers before he plugs in the device?
Quote
Quote Page 9 of the user manual said that “The required software (drivers and applications) must first be
installed before you plug in the device.” Hope you did that to avoid continual problems.

See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii_0Qhon6Ys&t=2s . Others have been successful and use the Silver Crest USB video grabber from Lidl. The windows 10 drivers version is a2 not version 1.0.

I followed the instructions in the booklet when I installed the software. As I am using Windows 10, is it possible to update it to version 2 ? Should I uninstall and begin again ?

I don't have your device but the problems with drivers are more likely than not. The drivers are for the device and not for Windows.

Please answer the question about plugging the device in BEFORE you installed the proprierary drivers for that device. Did you get a disc or a link to download the drivers for that device?

There is a sort of multistep process to change the drivers. You must remore the device, uninstall the driver, reboot, install the driver that came with the device, reboot and only then plug in your device.

Quote I bought the Silver Crest USB video grabber from Lidl to transfer old 8mm Video8 films to my PC. I have installed the software etc and it all appears to be working but when I click "Capture" it goes to the on board PC camera and doesnt seem to recognise any other device. The camera/player I am using is a Sony Handycam Video 8 and I have connected the yellow and white leads. There is no S-Video socket.

Any suggestions please ??

Chris

I use a Digital Sony VX-2100 Professional Camcorder 1394 firewire out, How can I get my footages from the Sony VX-2100 into the Power Director 16? What cable do I need? My Laptop does not have 1394 Firewire, but it gas USB Ports! Please tell me the type of cable that I need that will work with Power Director 16?
Thanks

There is no magic wire to convert Firewire to USB. There none that work well. You may be able to buy a stand alone converter card that plugs into your pcmcia card slot (if you have one)..

I can't offer a suggestion because you did not tell us what computer you have. Talk to the computer manufacturer so see what card they recommend.

I hope you have a top of the line laptop because usually laptops don't have enough processing power (mine does but I don't think you can call my Alienware 15 plus pound monster a laptop. Post the dxdiag.exe infomration on it to get some suggestions.

Quote I have PD13, purchased PD16 today. I have two questions.

1. Do I need the 32 bit files if I have a 64 bit version of Windows 7.

2. Do I need to uninstall PD13 before I install PD16 or do I have to have PD13 on the computer before my upgrade will install?

Well, I figured out that you do not need the 32 bit files if you have a 64 bit system.
Additionally, make sure you keep the email sent to you by Cyberlink. It contains both keycodes for the PD16 and the audio editor as well as links to the files and the order in which they should be installed. Running the first file uninstalls the previous version of PD before installing PD16. Sometimes you just have to figure these things out for yourself I guess.

last night i bought PD 16 ultra, i uninstalled my old 13 version and then installed the 16 version also installing the hoilday and travel packs and the essensials pack..every thing seems to be working fine..

Did you lose any of the extras like old menus, transitions, etc. from PowerDirector earlier versions? Sometimes they do get lost in the uninstallation.
Are the Essentials "New Blue" or BorisFX or proDad?

Open the program and look at the added templates or programs if you can't determine any other way.

Why is it a p[roblem? If you don;t have enough space on your hard drive, you will have problems with the program when doing editing and producing.
See if there is a newer driver for you video chip. Yours is from 2012 and there MAY be a newer one for your Windows 7 computer.

As you can guess, a lot of image related issues are tied to the video card/chip/driver.

Make sure you are running nothing else when you are doing video editing even to the point of disconnecting from the internet and turning off your anti-virus.

Please explain "green screen"

What is your source of the videos? Remember that you are probably producing to standard definition rather than any higher resolution.
Free update to Power Director 14 OEM? I'd take it just to see what it will do!

You didn't tell us what PD 12 OEM doesn't do that you need to do. Perhaps none of the versions will have the capabilities. Would you like to tell us?

You can download the trial version of the latest software to see the capabilities. It also has restrictions.

You can also buy the full version and return it if it doesn't meet your needs.

Re: Bonus Pack. -- It varies but it would likely contain templates for menus. You could explors the Bonus Pack download and see what the categories are included. If you upgrade then the bonuses may not be applicable..
Quote Hi
If you can please to help me with my Cyberlink issues:

I have the 12 version and the videos are blurred. the original files are sharp and clear and the after I produce them it's really blurry.Or it sharp in the beginning and become blurry in the middle till the end.
2. Many times a green page appears and I have to produce all again. How can I avoid it?
I download the 16 trial version and:

  1. It stuck many time through the transitions.

  2. and something new from today that it doesn't start to produce at all.it stay in 1% all the time.

Please post your computer capabilities using dxdiag.exe. Go here and read the fourth post in that thread.
Quote I just puchased Cyberlink 16 Ultimate and I have the Boom Library.zip file. I unzip it and I see all of the files however I do not know where I need to place them. Are they just stand alone files that I can use at my leisure or do they need to go into a certain folder to work?
Thank you in advance for any help on this.

What did Boom say? I doubt that it is integrated into the Cyberlink program. Just use the ones you want when you need to add a sound effect.
Quote Hi

Sorry, not very tech savvy! Yes I believe I have all the required specs, my laptop has the following -

System - Mac OS High Sierra, version 10.13.3
Processor - 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Graphics - Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
Memory - 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (plenty left)

I hope the above helps?

Thanks again

Tell us more. Did you buy the program directly from Cyberlink or from somewhere like Amazon or e-bay. Did it come with a piece of hardware (computer/burner/etc.)

Did you have any antivirus/firewire or other running during installation? Did you reboot your computer after the installation?

Did you get to the point where it asked for your key?
Any cell phone involved? Are you selecting the right ratio for the video before you start?

Quote if I download trial version from cyberlink can I use to activate this trial version with my key.pls give answer early as possibleAnybody can give download link to me.Already I have registered my product

To get any full version installer per your purchase, go to contact cyberlink support. It's the only proper and legit way.

Many times I send mails to customer support team but all r in vain no reply from their side
I think what a pathetic customer service

As always, check your spam and junk e-mail folders and then go to where you posted the problem. Is their response somewhere there?

Did you send them all the information they needed like a copy of the purchase e-mail response?

Did you register the program when you installed it?

This thread is now marked solved. Is it?
Quote Hey

So all new to this (sorry in advance) but just installed the photo director 8 on my mac, but when I click on the icon nothing happens? I've restarted and tried re-installing but the same issue is happening.

Just wanted to know if I'm being daft and missing something? I contacted the support but not had anything back.

Help!! Thanks!

Sincew you didn't give us more information, the first thing to check is that your MAC is above the minimum specs listed here.
