Installing the previous version of PD365 with the link supplied by the PDM has restored the ability to open projects without crashing on my pc. Thank You Jeff for your insight.

Not having a good experience with Cyberlink Support as they can’t access the link in my support ticket but I can when I go back to the ticket to highlight the link and open it in my browser. Don’t know if they read my attachments but I replied again and supplied the information they wanted.

You got the opposite with your update. That is good to know but you did not say the date of your update like today or a week ago which would be different.

Chroma key can’t be keyframed to my knowledge. Use split. You can keyframe the background.

Check to see if Audio Editor is available in the MAC version by using the F1 or whatever key to open the Help screen. If it is, follow the instructions for editing each single track.

Placed the skateboard02.mp4 10 sec. Produced to an animated 1080p 30 fps file will crash my PD365 when playing in the media library or on the timeline. For this to work you need to reduce the resolution and the framerate to the same level as a gif file. Transparency has never been available in PD365 produced files. Hardware acceleration with the gpu is not supported with nvidia or intel so your animated production png must stay small. I ran this test before the latest PD365 update.

23 April - all OK. I didn't do any work on 24 April. 25 April I installed the 24 April update before starting my work. And now not a single project can successfully open. I have been successfully using the product for months without issue. I'm a newbie to these apps.
Any help/ideas greatly appreciated. And I opened a support ticket, but my first one so not sure what the service level agreements are like in terms of expected turn-around times. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I read this post and found out there is a PD365 Update when using the CAM. After the update I found that my previous projects will not load. Last one was saved 4/25/2022 without the sample files loaded. It looks like that you can have better luck if you don’t open the MS Edge browser. Your problems have been duplicated in my post here: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/96943.page . You need to contact Cyberlink support to get this fixed. I am sorry to have read your post and updated PD365. Now I won’t be able to do any editing with it.

After reading this post, I opened PD365 and clicked the notification button on the top right. A popup window indicates that there is no new update. On version 20.3.2714.0. This is wrong. Closed PD365.
Opened the Cyberlink Application Manager and it indicates Update available. Allow the update to version 20.4.2820.
Tonight Opened a Recent Project with PD365 and it crashed immediately, Tried with 2 different projects. My PD365 loads with the sample files enabled. Opened PD365 by itself. Go to File/Open Recent Projects and answer no to merge the sample files with the new project and still get the crash on 2 different projects.
On a hunch, closed Microsoft Edge and Opened a Recent Project with PD365. The project is hung at 60% just as reported in the above post by Bearly.Keto
Attached is the Dxdiag.txt, See that the last 10 crashes are ‘P1: 52503Applite.SpeechtoTextconverter_1.1.0.0_x64__sdxk820kv7pgm’.Text to speech is available in and is part of the MS Edge browser for certain web pages of which I have tried out recently. Windows 11 settings will not allow me to access the Apps & Features Folder. Not allowed to access the C:\Program Files\WindowsApp folder with requested permission. Able to access the Control Panel and see the last apps updated are PD365 and Windows Update on these recent dates. See the attached screenshot.
It looks like a higher chance of opening PD365 with the new update if Microsoft Edge browser is not opened. Hope that Cyberlink can look at this problem and provide a solution.

You do have the latest nvidia driver. PD17 is 3 years old. Is this a new installation of PD17 or has it worked properly for 3 years until recently? If this is a new installation then there will not be any nvidia hardware encoding until it is patched to the latest version. Click the word PowerDirector on the top right of the Edit screen and a popup window shows your installed version. Let us know what it is…
EDIT: Jeff answered first. Your saying that cpu rendering don't work either when fvrt is not checked so there may be other issues. Try unchecking the checkboxes in Preferences/Hardware accelleration.

Try this: Use Gaussian blur on the portion of video that has shimmering. You can also use blur on the whole video if you do not want to spend time fixing that shimmering. The 4k video is too sharp and the edges must be reduced to a resolution of say 720 x 240 lines to work well on a standard dvd.

Try this: Go to the mixing room. Look at the left/right track slider for the track of your background audio. Move it to the left from 50 to lower the audio volume of the whole track.
As an alternative you can utilize the help screen to see other ways of adjusting clip or track audio volume.

Later models of LG tv can play many file types. The manual in paper or as an online document is the place to start as newer sets have no paper manual.

Have them fit the preview screen in the timeline editor. Produce it and it should fit the screen on your monitor or tv.

This is not good as I just tested the sample cips Skateboard 01.mp4 and then replaced it with Sports 01.jpg so the total length is 10 second Is used in my cpu encoding test. Used the default h.264 mp4 1080p30 16Mbps. Results are 18978 KB and 1724 KB. Edited the encoded profile to enable Dynamic GOP and results are 18967 KB and 1724 KB respectively. The GOP pattern is the same as reported by mediainfo. Slightly lower bitrate on the video with Dynamic GOP checked.
Dynamic GOP may have worked 4 years ago in PD16. See this tutorial at 10:08: https://youtu.be/8cT-UCFWOQc?t=608 . Let hope that Cyberlink fix it if this was the case in the past.

According to the spec, hevc encoded 10bit HLG is supported. Could you attach say a 5 to 10 second sample video on your next reply for users to check out. You may need to make a change in the camera settings or convert it if necessary.

Try this: Go to Preferences/General and uncheck the box Enable shadow files… and click OK. It looks like that your video editing does not require shadow files at all.

You may want to Right mouse click in the Media library and Click Remove all unused content before you pack the project. This would eliminate the unused content from being packed too.
