Can you explain in more detail? Where is YouCam installed? If it is installed on your laptop, and your laptop is closed, then...

Anyway, YouCam will use the primary camera selected in settings. In Camera settings check the "camera device" option.

No options availabe in this screen Dave:

Sure there is...it is right there in your screenshot. I highlighted in your image and reuploaded.

Dave
Hi,

I was able to do this manually by doing the following:

  1. Opening a photo of mine in Paint.Net, making an area transparent, and then saving the image file as a .PNG. My image was of a scoreboard, so I called it scoreboard.png.

  2. Save a smaller version of the image file as a .JPG, with "_thumbnail" added to the original name. So I named mine scoreboard_Thumbnail.jpg.

  3. Going to the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\YouCam9\FunnyScene

  4. Create a new folder for my new scene (I called it "scoreboard") and copy the new images in that folder.

  5. Go to one of the other existing scene folders and then copy the ".bkt" file in your new folder.

  6. Rename the file to have the same name as your image, for example "scoreboard.bkt".

  7. Open the ".bkt" file in notepad and then change as I did with your file names:
    - <Profile Name="Scoreboard" Thumbnail="Scoreboard_Thumbnail.jpg" />
    - <TopPicInfo Name="Scoreboard.png" />

  8. Save the file*.

* I had to save as the file on my desktop, and then copy it back to the new folder as Windows wouldn't allow me to directly edit the file in that folder. Could just be my computer though.

Just to let you know, I created two transparent windows in my image, and I wasn't able to have the webcam image show up fully in each one. My webcam is just viewable behind the image. Will work on it more to see if I can improve....I just this quickly before bed here!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Dave
It doesn't seem like your folder structure is the issue, but PowerDVD can't detect the files. What files are in the Video_TS folder? I have one similar folder in my library and it displays the movie info without problem in PowerDVD 19. In my folder is .iFO, .VBO files, etc.

Dave
Are you sure? I have it in my YouCam 9. Could it be you don't have the Deluxe version, because avatars are an optional feature?

How about sharing a screenshot with the avatar tab open?

Dave
It does sound frutrating, but it works for most people, so...and you didn't answer my specific question, so I can't help based on your feedback. Bottom line is stick with PowerDVD 19, because version 20 won't fix something that's not broken for anyone else.

Dave
Quote I was not having any issues with PowerDVD 15 and flv files until about a month ago. No sound or video. How to relieve situation??

There has been so update to PowerDVD 15 for a while, so I doubt it is the software. There have been several Windows updates in the last month, so that is more likely the root cause. Maybe do a search on the Windows forums?

Also, PowerDVD only plays H.264 flv files from what I remember. So make sure they are using that codec.

Dave
Hi,

I have been playing my movies to my smart TV with chromecast with no problems with Powerdvd 19, so I don't think there is any issue with it in the program.
What is the exact setup you are using? Is your computer and Chromecast on WiFi, or connected via a cable?
Dave
Quote So where are these Clut files for Photodirector 365? Can't find them anywhere. Hitting on the Store button does nothing.

Did you try searching in the help. I found it right away:

https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/photodirector/11/pc/enu/06_04_01_color_lu_table.html

On the Adjustment tab near the top of the panel.

Dave
Assuming that you have the latest patch for Power2Go 13 installed, then it must mean that YouTube changed it's API again, breaking the feature. You'll need to contact Cyberlink support and ask them to create a new patch to fix it.

Dave
YouCam doesn't allow for custom images to be used as a background replacement. This question has been answered numerous times recenlty. Like here:

https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/81809.page

Dave
Why not test it our yourself: https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/trials/powerdvd-ultra/download_en_US.html

That's the best way to determine if it will work on your specific setup.

Dave
This is because mouse clicks are not available for most Blu-ray titles, so the more functions window is displayed instead so you can navigate menus. The first time you clicked there is a message that says this. You must have selected "Don't show again" and then Open so that it is always there.

Try this, go to Player Settings > General, and then click the "Reset" button under Reset "Don't show again" dialogs. After that, click again during playback and then select "Don't show again" and then click the Skip button.

Dave
You guys were right...it is here.

does this help?

Not at all. There is no CODEC information in that screenshot. If you don't want to share a sample video try using MediaInfo to find out and post the results.

Dave
Weird...I have no problem playing any MP4 file. Which exact CODEC did you use to render your file? Maybe consider sharing a small sample file on Dropbox or Google Drive so we can test.

Dave
Hi,

You can't rip commercial DVDs in Power2Go. You can however convert existing video files on your hard drive to other video file formats. If you have files to convert using the option you mention, select "Generic" for the device brand and model and then you can output MP4 videos in up to 4K format.

Dave
Thanks for this. Before I review it, can you uncheck skin smoothing in settings if you have it enabled? Also any other video enhancements being applied.

Dave
Quote I was truly hoping that Cyberlink would sort out .CR3 files - I really liked the PhotoDirector software, but it was such a PITA to convert a CR3 file so I could work in PhotoDirector.
Well Affinity have stepped up to the plate in their latest update and added Canon CR3 RAW support
I'm swiching to the Affinity Photo ecosystem.

Well, now they have sorted it out. So "Hello again?" laughing

Dave
Hi,

The list of premium features that are available in the trial are here:

https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/trials/youcam/download_en_US.html

You can't replace your background in YouCam, not sure where you saw that. In PerfectCam, a different product, you can blur your background:

https://www.cyberlink.com/products/perfectcam/features_en_US.html

The question about importing the frames downloaded from DirectorZone I answered in your other post.

Dave
Hi,

Once downloaded and installed, you just click on a frame or scene to apply it over your webcam video. Frame will put a border around your video, and scene will put your video within a scene, like a poster board or a movie scene.

You can actually see a demonstation in this tutorial:

https://www.cyberlink.com/learning/youcam/1520/apply-effects-for-webcam-recording---im-chatting

If your question is that you are not sure how to install the downloaded scenes/frames, see this FAQ:
