Quote The above produced mp4 video is acv instead of hevc or h.265 encoding. Maybe a clean install of the studio driver may make a difference. I never had to do this on my systems yet.

Can you tell me how you see the difference? ( I selected HEVC. The request was btw HEVC or ACV.)
I have tested with both the Game and the studio driver.
Also tested with both the Fast Video rendering on and off.
I see no problems with the transition rendering.
Thanks

Hi Warry. Please try producing to H.265/HEVC 1920 x 1080 30p WITH hardware encoding enabled and see if the glitch appears for you. For me, the problem occurs using either HEVC or AVC along with hardware encoding

i have done so, and find noting wrong with the transitions. See attached,. Any other parameters that mayof influence?
Please see attached.
I have used your packed project, the video files etc.
I have the same nVidia's Studio Driver 528.24 installed.
For production I have tested with CPU only, All HW acceleration off and the fast redering off
And I have used NTSC, MP4 1280x720/30p 16mps
I see the distortion in you video but I dont see any distortion in any of the videos I have produced with any setting.
I also notice that your file is about 16,2Mb large, All my videos are about 26.3 mb large there are small differences.

anything else we can compare?
Both the subscription and the life time license (of any kind) will get you a version that produces output without a watermark.
Note: the version you get is currently 21.
Rather then moving one clip over the other I suggest you try putting the clips right next to eachother and pick a transition from the transition room. You have more control over the way the transition between clips happens. You can also selected between overlap and cross (this is also a setting in the preferecnes). I suggest that you experiment with these and see what suits you best.
Notice that you can drag the transition from the room into the timeline, and that the positioning of the transition is important: place it at the end of clip one or the beginning of clip two or overlap between 1 en 2. Also experiment with that and see what happens and suits you best.

Given the plethora of transitions available and the way professional film makers apply transions (have a look at what happens in movies and on TV), you will gradually find out that the best thing might be to not use any transition at all (just a hard change between clips), or a simple fade. All the other stuff may be used for exceptional situations in exceptional movies.

Have fun!
Try Youtube, there are a number of good tutorials out there, like:

etc.
Apparently, and according to the manual, the original audio track is replaced by a new audio track with the changes. The only way to restore the original audio track is to delete the audiotrack (which is separate from the video track) and then load the original track, separate video and audio, remove video and move the audio "under" the video.
This only works this "simple" of course when you have not cut the video, otherwise you either have to replace the complete original and do the cutting again.
What I also noticed is that the (all!) newly generated audiotrack is stored in an AudioDenoise folder. Hence these file is separate from the project files. It looks like it is wise to pack and save the project, to ensure that the audio files are included and available to the project at later stage.
It may be worth it to submit a suggestion to CL, to enable an undo. I recon (because of the cutting and other changes) it will not be easy.
I have tried, version 21.1.2401.0, it works in my system.
For the installation of software and packages, the Application manager uses a Temp folder in the appdata, local folder of the user. Usually an .EXE file is stored there, executed (for installation) and then the exe file is deleted. I have seen that if something is wrong with users settings, policy settings, access rights to the given folder structure, this MAY have influence on how the process is progressing and being ended. In a normal and regular windows installation, especially when the Cyberlink software has successfully been installed and upgraded through the application manager, everything should work. If not as in your case, then the repair options, as given by Optodata above, may do the trick. Otherwise it would also help to completely uninstall the Application Manager and install it again. If that does not help, and the above repairs do not help, then the communication with support is your option. You may also want to share version information with us here, and include the DXDiag.txt file. And... see what is happening in the temp folder during the downloading and let us know.

(You have used this topic here in version 20, whereas you probably have version 21 as part of the 365 subscription? Maybe use the version 21 forum entry so that more people might notice and help?)
If you are a 365 subscriber, you will find all these templates in PD 365 in the Video Intro Room.
Make sure that you have upgraded to PD 365 version 21.0.2214.0 which should not have those audio issues anymore.
I have had the same experience...

My feeling is that the problem you have, trying to open one of the effect rooms, might have to do with what looks like an inventory system, that should make opening and switching between rooms faster. It does that in my system. CL apparently introduced this inventory approach over the last few months and 365 versions. But this inventory needs to be build from a stable position. So, I would guess that this does not always goes will.
When I recently moved to another laptop, I had to rebuild windows (11) and installed the CL software, while I was doing that. PD did not work properly, whatever I tried. I think this was (also) because I tried to remove OneDrive, which during the PD installation was used as the default documents folder to store some PD files. So both running PD and removing OneDrive did not work for me. It was very clear that working with the various effect rooms, was not possible.
So, I uninstalled all CL software, made sure that none of the custom settings were kept (it is an option during the uninstall) and also made sure that I had a copy put aside for all the custom titles and other stuff I have made in all previous versions. After checking windows installation (updates etc.), drivers and so on, all the things you have already done. I first moved all the custom files (titles etc.) to the proper places in c:\users\%username%\documents\cyberlink\powerdirector\nn.n (that is the version number). If you have items from previous versions put them in place before the installation, but make sure that there are no PD 21 folders.
After that I installed PD with the Application Manager and tried to open rooms. It worked better. The first time a bit slower, because apparently PD was building an inventory (I am still guessing that is what they use).
So, PD 365 works for me now. But I also still get the accessional crash (which are sent to CL, so they should be in the know). They should still have some home work to do….
The Effects should be in the FX room. It is good to understand which version of PD you have and whether you have 365 or a 21 version.
In a fairly normal installation there would be over 550 effects, a number become available when you click on them after which the effect is downloaded.
You may also include a screen shot of your effect room, so that we can help and point?
The alternative is the entry in File, Import, download media from.....
Both ways give me the picture I showed above. I have no clue why you dont get a filter with music.
behind the setting icon (right top) there is a limit setting for the downloaded material. Setting or resetting does not make a difference.
Unless the both of use oversee something, I suggest you ask CL support....
O, I understand. There must be different Shutterstock entries. I DO see a filter option for Shutterstock (NOT iStock!!) music.

When do you see the list of about 100 tracks? It that when you open Shutterstock?
Try to click on the filter (above left). In my system, far more tracks are listed (did not bother to count them, but can imagine that one wonders whether there are thousands).
When you click again a genre-list is opened.
I find the report of these crashes very disturbing.
I did not have crashes with the latest release/version, but if others see them, there may be a potential problem with the software that potentially may hit us all and needs to be solved.

Can you please help us (and CL) and submit a rquest to CL support and maybe also with this forum (like a DXDiag.txt file), so that we can have a look at what might be wrong, whether it is a PC or a software issue that needs resolving?

Thanks for your help.
The other option is to use ColorDirector. Select the train and track it, and turn the exposure down to 0. Save that back into PD and then you may want to select the black train in the PIP designer Chroma key. I have added a quick-and-dirty attempt here. You may want to include the shadows and do some fine tuning on the edges.
Have fun!
The saved project file does contain the links of ALL files used in the timeline, but also of ALL files that are in the project media-room. It also contains the links and additional information for titles, subtitles, LUTs, etc. etc. As far as I know and have seen, there is no other place where CL keeps project-related information. The project files also contains a record of all the editing you have done, without touching the original files.
Once you open a project, it will make the files available in the media room and in the timeline, as they were at the moment of the project save, using the links recorded. If a file is not found at the place where the link points to, PD will show a message and allow you to browse (or ignore, or ignore all). You may have seen that, otherwise give it a try.
PD gives this not found, browse or ignore (ignore all) message for each of the files not found. In subsequent not found situations, PD will also look in the folder where previous files have been found, and automatically include and make them available.
Have look at: https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help/powerdirector/21/win/enu/04_00_00_pdr_projects.html?q=project+file
Is it possible that a copy of the video or audio clip is somewhere in the timeline, in a higher track (number) that is not visible in screen, but will become visible when you scroll down the tracks? This can indeed lead to a superimposed situation. Unless it is audio only, or the video track has been "turned off", the video should also be doubled?
It may help to at the left click in the timeline to delete the empty tracks, just to reveal any track in use.
If not, try to delete and reinclude the video clip and see what happens. Otherwise maybe share a screen shot in the forum?
The only (and most accurate) place for files to be listen in projects, is… in the project file. So I guess that the only option (well, the easiest without e.g. manually scanning all project files) us, to open the project file and browse for the missing file(s). If more missing files are in the same folder a the first missing, PD will see that and open them. Important is to SAVE the project to prevent this form happening again, at least if you don’t intend to move the files around again. If you decide to ignore the missing files, PD will open the project as, you say, without these files. If you the save the project, you will definitely lose the list of files originally used!
The project packing option is there to make sure that all used files are kept together with the project file. As long as you move the folder in its completeness, all project files will be found at open time.
It is what it is….
