What I do, is import a sound file (wav, mp3, etc) into the editor. Then I drag it down onto the timeline. You should notice the dual clef note symbols on the side, and you can place it there.
In PD11, clicked on Fix/Enhance, clicked on ColorDirector and it opened up with my video clip.
I used some of the adjustment tools such as contrast, brightness, vibrance. However, I clicked many different adjustments only to find I did not like the result and so went back to the original clip settings. I also tried some of the pre-loaded Effects. After I made a few adjustments that I liked the result, I clicked on Apply at the bottom of the window, and the at the top of the window clicked Back.
This took me back to PD11 and the clip in the timeline now showed the icon that an adjustment had been made.
I went ahead and produced my video and the result was constant fluctuation of the enhanced clip between various colors and contrasts, etc.
Just curious what happened here, and why. If anyone has any ideas?
I used ColorDirector to make some adjustments to a clip. When I was satisfied with what I had done I clicked "Apply" and then returned to PowerDirector11 and finished the video and produced it.
But, the produced video was not right. The colors and saturation kept shifting every few seconds.
I had to re-do the video, and I used the Fix/Enhance built into PD11. The produced video turned out fine.
I re-did the video. I cropped it, I used two fades, two titles, and this time added two special effects. I also de-linked the audio and then enhanced it in AudioDirector.
However, this time I did not use ColorDirector, instead I used the Fix/Enhance built into PD11.
I produced a 378MB video of around 4 minutes length. This time, it took only 10 minutes to produce. That's more like it!
I just produced a 4 minute video for the first time since installing the latest PD11 patch. I used the crop feature with key frames, I used Color Director to Fix/Enhance, I used a couple of Fades, and I used a couple of Titles.
The raw video is MOV. I initially went to produce a MOV file and was told it would take 37 minutes. After about 30 minutes it was 'stuck' at 19% or at least I thought it was stuck. So I cancelled it and changed the production to an MPEG file and had Hardware Acceleration toggled on. Long story short, it took one hour and nineteen minutes (1:19) to produce.
Prior to the 2321 Patch, it might have taken 6 or 7 minutes.
Anyone else having the same problem after installing the 2321 Patch?
The purpose of Color Director is the same as other pro video editing software color grading.
You shoot your video with your camera set to 'flat' or 'neutral'. The original footage looks dull and not so appealing. Then you use the color grading tools to bring out the colors, hues, highlights, depths, and contrasts that you see in 'your minds eye'.
Quote:It appears to me that the FOV basically acts as a digital zoom, which would explain the degradation of quality.
After watching twincitybulldog's video I have to agree. Who knew? That is a real eye opener.
Digital zoom is disabled in every camera/camcorder I own. Now that I know that GoPro's 'Narrow FOV" zooms in so much to eliminate the fisheye effect I will not be using it much, especially in low light.
I have read on the GoPro forum that the Silver Edition Hero3 is basically the same as the Hero2 as far as image quality is concerned.
That said, I have a Hero 2 and recently made a video using the 1080P 'Narrow' FOV, and it was in low light conditions. Exactly, the camera was attached to a bicylce and the sunlight was fading.
I was shocked when I viewed the video! The noise on the image was unbelievable. At first I thought my camera was somehow defective. Because I had seen numerous videos on YT shot with GoPro cameras from cars at night time and the image looked pretty good and did not have 1/10th the noise mine had.
Your post has just verified what I suspected, that the narrow FOV severely limits what the camera can do.
Your 'action video' edited with PD11 looks great and the sound track is kickin'! Who does the music?
I instgalled Power2Go8 Platinum and at the time I had only a DVD/CD burner. I recently installed a Blu Ray player.
When I open P2G8, I can see it allows me to allegedly burn a BD disc. But when I try to nurn a disc the P2G8 always defaults to the DVD burner. Even though it sees the Blu Ray player on the computer and can recognize it has a blank BD disc in it, it will not select the BD burner when I click on "Burn".
Although I know my DVD burner cannot record onto a BD, I stuck it in there anyway when P2G8 said place a disc in the drive. Well of course it kicked it open and said please install a writable disc.
How can I get my P2G8 Platinum program to stop defaulting to the DVD burner only, and let me select either of my burners, the DVD or the BD?
JL's is the best example, but the complete removal of the low end renders is rubbish and besides I can still detect the voices.
Perhaps we do expect too much from this tool. I suspect, that it is somehow not meant to remove the voices from music in the sense it removes the singers, but perhaps it is designed to remove a random word or three spoken while music is playing.
I have been a Platinum member for several months, as least. And I have bought the Director Suite recently. A week or so ago when I was checking for updates my member status was still Platinum, and no mention of Bronze. Then yesterday I logged on and it showed that I was both as the attached photo shows. I think it is a glitch.
How did this happen I wonder? I have been a Platinum Member for quite some time. But tonight I saw that I was a Bronze, er Platinum, er Platinum Bronze member!
