Harry Potter invisibility cloak effect
[Post New]

Just take a screen capture of the background video before you walk in front of it. Have a blanket that is one color on the inside (the color people will see) and green on the outside.

I didn't have a green blanket, so I went with red which is more problematic as it matches some skin tones. The lighting was also not uniform, so the red edges show through, and the couch has a shadow.

In PowerDirector just put the snapshot on video track 1, and the movie on video track 2. Extend the duration of the snapshot for the whole scene. Then select modify on video track 2 and enable chroma key. Use the eyedropper tool to pick the green cloak. (red in my case) Tripod is required of course.

I agree. Good Job. Thanks for sharing Bastain74.
It's nice to see some creative video editing tips shared here among all the DxDiags.

Now certainly the tech advice is needed. One can't do anything creative if your PD won't launch or work properly. But it's nice to also see members share creative tips, that can maybe help improve, or add a little flare to our productions.

AWESOME! My kids loved watching you disappear!!

It looks like your video drivers are out of date and need to be updated and you need more free space on your hard drive. TOTALLY KIDDING!!

Nice CREATIVE work!!!

Refreshing!!!!

Good job Bastian74.
It is nice to see creative. I know I find my self just droping a few short clips in and playing. To see what I can do and and be creative with PD. I have been using it for almost a year in a few months and love it. Intel i7 5960X overclock to 4 Ghz 16 GB of ram.

This is the most fun I've had in ages with a Camcorder! Did a similar thing with a blue table cloth and have now ordered a proper green screen cloth.

I can't see this video on my laptop, why? When I click on the play button, I hear the sound alright but the display area remains blank white with the images displaying as 'ghosts' in the background. I do encounter this problem with some Youtube uploads too. What might be the problem?
