I don't have a folder named: C:\Users\MyName\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\11.0\MyTitles because I haven't had PDR 11 installed on this PC - only have PDR13 and PDR 14.
I didn't made the animated title myself - I just picked it from the Title Room.
I thought the idea of the Pack Project Materials was precisely to provide a backup for future use.
I just made a test
I opened pdr13 (here is the Title Brush_01, the one I used in the earlier project) I created a project including this Title.
Then Packed Project Material
Opens pds file in the packed project folder with pdr 14 and the title were present and worked.
One thing I have noticed is that all my old Packed folders do not have sub-folders (all material is located in the same folder).
The projects I pack today has subdirectories as slideshow, titles, MaterialCache etc.
And I notised tha the title in question has its own folder (pdr11_title_102_4_3)
When I apparently do not have access to all of the titles that are located in PDR13 in PDR14 I realize that this problem is a little self-inflicted because PDR13 and PDR14 is installed on different disks.
But that does not explain why the title work in my test project when it did not work in the older project - or maybe it does because of lack of of sub-folders.
Therefore some new question:
Are suplied titles in the ContentPack_Essential or in ContentPack_Premium?
Can I install earlier ContentPacks without damaging the PDR 14?
If I uninstall PDR14 and install it on the SSD drive will I then get all the titles that are i PDR13 which is on the SSD?
And what will happen if I then uninstall PDR13 to free space on the SSD?
Tony, fine I'll wait to see if I get any issues with track access & functionality.
optodata, I purchased PDR14 last month and were happy to learn it now was posible to install PDR whereever you like - so I installed at F: drive well knowing it may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall the C: drive if any performance issues occurs.
Until now it runs ok, but I have only been working on small projects - can be the reason.
It's good to know I can move the SS tracks to any location after installation.
Re the thread the first thing I did when I got my new PC with a SSD was to link the directories 'Documents', 'Pictures', 'Music' and 'Videos' to the D: drive just to free up space on C :.
What I did not know about that one also can move folders with installed applications. New and useful knowledge - thanks!
Might move the installed PDR13.
Hi Neil,
Yes in OLD DAYS - when we used vinyls and tapes you got that message / text: copy only allowed for personal use. I think this still the rule.
But the internet isn't personal. Only if you have your own server and nobody else than you has access to the server it's personal.
Before your reply The only album I had was Core Foundations.
I just downloaded and installed Full Spectrum ( had to do it 3 times, the first 2 times I got a message that it proberly wasn't installed properly, try again)
Now I've got Full Spectrum, and the SS track in old project is back thanks, thanks, thanks.
I now have 35 diferent tunes instad of 10.
About the SmartSound Quicktracks installer
I have the QuicktracksInstaller3090 in my CL download folder?
When open SmartSound Quicktracks 5 - About tab
I can see I'm running SmartSound Quicktracks 5.1.8.0, but I don't know how to see if I have the Full (204mb) or the (30mb) version?
The download of Full SmartSound Quicktracks 5.1.8 installer is 204mb - How much space is needed for the installed program?
- do you know if it's possible to install on other than the C: drive?
My C: drive is a SSD disk so I need to install as less as possible here.
Thank you for your guidance Tony. It worked.
Already this morning has the claim for Pavane Pax has been removed. (a mail from AdRev dated , Nov 13, 9:55 AM - my local 18:55 tim )
BUT,BUT,BUT - while writing this post it's tagged again (my local time, Nov 14, 10:44 AM)
I'm confused, will try to make the claim again refering to the mail I got from
HDedit, I think EU copyright laws are strict but I think that the way Google and YouTube administers them is far worse - though of course it is to watch your back to the music industry.
Hi both,
First breaking news:
Last night about 9 pm a terrible terrorist attacks started at six different locations in Paris, France. There were at least eight partisans, currently 120 people are killed and 80 mortally wounded. I may soon not know the world I live in.
Have tried:
- Rebuild SmartSound Database
- search for any occurrences of smartsound, files and folders
It is when open older Projects I get the mentioned message box and the sound is missing in SS track on the PD timeline - just a black line.
optodata,
- sory I didn't clearly mentioned I only purchased PD9, 11, 13 Ultra and 14 Ultimate and have used the SS that came with the PD's
- I'm retired and try to keep expences down by using as much free stuff as posible.
I worked out I can cppy the music by loading the video / slide show in a new project (samples / temporary m2ts files I produced before packing the the projects) and then produce a wmv file from that, but that dosn't give me the name and I can't expand the length of the music.
I have actually exracted the sound from one of the temporary projects and gone through comparing with all the ss' in PD but couldn't find a similar tune.
It amazes me because I think 'the blue names' are the same as they always have been.
Conclusion, CL and/or SS must have changed which comes with the PD - I feel like saying something that would not be appropriate here.
Again, Thanks to both of you to try to find a solution.
There is only one folder with sounsfiles at my pc
c:\programdata\SmartSound Software Inc\soundfiles
and one folder pointing of installed libray
c:\programdata\SmartSound Software Inc\libraies
and ttis is also whwre the settings in SS are pointing.
But your point was a good one.
Note this pc is only 6 month old and I only have had PD13 and PD14 on this - thats why I mentioned that about installing older versions. But think it might create conflicts installing earlier versions.
Still I think the PD message could /should show the title of the soundfile because all the soundfiles in 'c:\programdata\SmartSound Software Inc\soundfiles' has a title plus a number - at least the the title would help to recreate the project.
Since the days of PD9 I saved most of my projects.
They were stored by using the function:'File - Pack Project Material' to be able to continue working with them at a later date.
Now this later date has come. In some of the projects I have used Magic Music.
When I open these projects I get the message:
Fortunately, this is not a serious problem but merely an annoyance.
Immediately I can not see any change in the SmartSound music library that comes with PowerDirector, therefore surprises me that the music is not there anymore.
I suppose it does not help to install earlier versions of the PDR since SmartSound updated during installation.
It would have been nice if the message also told the name of the music because I think it is still there just in a new version.
It's not to remember what creative ideas one had for more than a year ago.
Unfortunately, you are not right.
This I have tried about a year ago where I had used a tune that Tony had used in his wonderful slide show of his new grandchild.
It was a Family birthsday - therefore I made it private.
It was tagged.
Result: I removed the video.
Thanks for your prompt reply And thank you for always contribute something useful.
- I followed the instruction mentioned under AdRev - I have already got an automated response - so now just waiting.
Hope I can come up with a supplementary question.
How is copyright when recording video in the public space - for example, on the street?
Last year I was in Fira on the Greek island Santorino. Here I witnessed a multiple wedding (about 10 Asian couples). They danced in a circle to different melodies, among other Zorba.
Is it violating of copyright rights for the music to show video of the wedding dance when it took place outdoors in a public place?
My Video was flagged by YouTube because of the Zorba music and with the txt: Believe Music The Orchard Music AdShare MG for a Third Party.
Hi Neil, thanks for your input.
Of course I have also videos and slide shows which do not come online. Especially when it is strictly private.
But I use YouTube much to share common travel experiences with the people who participated in the trip.
The various groups I / we travel with are always very happy that I share the videos online.
It would be too cumbersome to produce DVDs to all and succeed in question and send it by the post office - it's also not cheap in this country.
I am not particularly good at making videos, but it is in any case better to watch a video when there is a soundtrack - it gives more credits - that's why I use both Magic Music and audio from YouTube's audio library.
I have used Magic Music - Pavane Pax in the hole slide show. Leng=09:30:00
Right after upload I got a message: 'Matched third-party content'.
It's related to, Content: 12 Pavanne-Summit Records Music composition 6:26 - 8:10 play match.
Strange it's only a small part of the music - nearly at end - that match third-party content.
I'm pretty amazed because when you buy and install PowerDirector you get 10 pieces Magic Music, the bold blue font to use as background music.
As these Magic Music tunes included with PD, there is probably also a license to had to use music in the videos / slide show put on YouTube - or is there something I have misunderstood?
When I click at 'File a dispute' I get this page: 'File a dispute' And I don't know what to do I need a 'step by step forDUMMIES', please.
I have previously uploaded slide shows and videos on YouTube where the background music is Magic Music without that I have been informed of 'Matched third-party content'. - so why now?
when I want to compare I burn to 'Create folder' and play it from there, and as Myk say: usually, I can see the differences just by playing the files.
Playing from PC I even can Watch both at same time by playing the files in two different viewers.
Quite interesting test report you attached. maybe I should upgrade
<quote>I have not mentioned the other applications I use, as I cannot promote other software vendors on this CyberLink Forum.</quote> - no, of cause you can't!
I understand that you think it is smart to jump through the chapters - and I'm sure it is, though, I have never had to use this facility when I watch video or slide show.
I must admit that I do not particularly enjoy the PD's disc menu module, but I am generally happy to use the PD program.
<Quote>Fenman wrote:My problem is that my third-party application doesn't handle Blu-Ray so for that I'm forced to use PD.</quote>
No one is forced to use PD and I am sure, of course if money is not a problem, you can find a professional video editing program that can satisfy your needs.
As well as you had put a suggestion to CL -
You may get the developer of your third-party application to add a BlueRay module - have you asked them.
Hope you both find a solution I can live with.
Cheers, Anja
OK, your other Authoring application deal with Chapters Menu Off or On. (You don't tell the name of your other application - why?)
PowerDirector doesn't for the time beeing - make a suggestion!
If that chapter hing is very importent to why don't you just use the other application in the meantime?
But maybee PowerDirector offers you a lot that your other application doesn't?
I admit it would be nice to have influence of evrything - and by the years I've been using PowerDirector it has improved and improved. I'm sure CL are lisitening to users suggesting.
As I see it, from your responce You don't need the chapters when you have finish editing so why don't you just remove all chapters in Manual Chapter Settings, can be done at one click.
Then, if you don't want to to delete chapters and split in 2 Projects then delete chapters add a chapter where the second title starts.
If I understand you right - You want to make a dvd where you you use the the 2 titles as entry points?
If so, I think if you make your 2 titles as 2 Projects an them import the 2 procects when create disk.
Though I can't figure why you have those many chapters if you don't want to use them to select a special chapter?
