I have an i5-4460 Haswell, 3.2 GHz CPU.
CPU-Z.... states "Intel Core i5 4460". Does this suffix number - is it just an identification number or does it indicate a performance characteristic of the i5?
Maybe the 4460 is the PasMark? If it is, then my ID is somewhere around 35. What does the CPU ID mean or tell me about my CPU?

You are quite welcome Rich!
If you could please - go back into the very FIRST thread or window that you described this issue with and edit the subject line and include the word "SOLVED' or something like that. This way anyone having a similar issue might search and find this and it might help them out too.
Take care and have fun 'droning' and editing.

Hey Joe, if you could go back to the FIRST post that you started this thread with - and edit the subject line to include the word 'Solved' or something like that - it might help someone else realize that there's a solution to this issue - if they do a search on this topic.
Thanks

Correct... that is just the preview quality. When you either 'produce' a file or burn to a DVD - or Blu-ray disc... you choose what quality or resolution you want the final output to be like then. Thanks for updating the title. CS edit - and Thanks Dan.. you stated the same thing too!

You are more than welcome.
If you could, please.....
Come back into the subject line of your FIRST post... and include the word " SOLVED" ... that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
CS

Look for the icon in the red circle - CLICK on it
 " alt="Preview Quality Icon" id="__mcenew" />
It should say Preview Quality - hover your cursor over that... then you can select from several choices as far as how high a quality you want.

Sorry if it sounded like I was 'beating a dead horse' there gas. I was just trying to distinguish between playing the video as through the timeline and processing that timeline into 1 - a DVD disc... or 2 - 'Producing' it into a file. I distinguish 'Producing' and burning to a disc by stating the word 'produce' - I do this because I see the tab in PD that says "Produce" and that is the module (hope I'm using that word correctly) that I am referring to when i say 'produce' a file. This 'production' file (created through the 'Produce' module in PD) is the file I would like to see if you get the same results. Again.. sorry if it seems like I'M preaching but I find some text communication challenging when trying to resolve technical issues - UNLESS ... we can all talk the same terms and language (and I'm not saying I have all the right terms... so I hope those reading this will correct me so I can learn the correct terms). Longedge and gas,
I just want to make sure you - gas - aren't playing the video straight from the timeline editing window in PD .. when you connect to the DVD player with ethernet or whatever connection was direct to DVD player.
I wanted to make sure you (gas) were taking a 'produced' (rendered) video and trying to play THAT type of material. Now i am NOT an expert with some of this terminology, so please feel free to correct me but...
Rendering is the process where PD takes the editing window video and processes it in to a way that you either produce/create a file or burn to a DVD sort of format. If gas has been having the issue with the burned DVD I was trying to see if the produced file had the same issue - the produced file being copied to a flashdrive and played from there.
Like I said, I'm not as expert as so many of you in here but what I just described was what I was trying to narrow down with gas.

Sounds good ... let us know the results
And maybe just make a 10 second video ... see if IT has the same issue when played from a flahsdrive. If it does, then maybe upload it to youtube or do a screen record if you're usiung PD14.

Certainly might be a concern too, time will tell. If the picture is correct at this website - http://www.whathifi.com/panasonic/dmp-bdt700/review - (it's about 1/2 way down the page) I think it has a USB port. Maybe you could produce a video too gas... see if it plays correctly from a flash/Thumb drive? CS
|
|
Have you tried the DVD .. that you burned... on other DVD players? Are there any USB -input sort of connections on your Panasonic BDT700 ... like the one I have on my BluRay player? This lets me play a video from a flash drive. CS Longedge... I didn't think you were preaching

Very nice Longedge - thanks for the capture. Explains so nicely.
thanks again

Mike's got a good point too.
I was trying to see if you played this DVD on a few players and got the same result. But if you can upload a small... 10 second portion or less and we could view it, this might clear up a LOT of confusion.

I edited my last entry... see next question
CS

... and what you are viewing through your TV .. this is a burned DVD correct? Probably the next question will be - does a 'produced' file play as intended with good quality - can you produce a video file and play it from a flash drive / thumb drive... does this play correctly? CS

Did what you do - reinstalling PD9 - converting the 4K to MP4 - (1) Did THIS (what you described above) solve what you called the 'interlacing' appearance... (2) Do you NOW have a good looking video playing through your TV/DVD player? CS
|
|
Longedge... I think you have some valid questions - hope you don't hate this thread too much I'd like to see those questions answered... lol. gas - are you sure it's an 'interlacing' issue... or is it just an appearance that every other line is missing ... sort of look to your DVD. Does this DVD that you produced - the one that looks like it's missing every other line on playback - DOES THIS DISK look the same on other DVD players? Longedge's and others comments are valid about producing video beyond the capability of the DVD disk you are burning to - if you MUST use a standard DVD - then there is NO BENEFIT to recording in 4k - no benefit to processing in 4k - IF... IF yo are then JUST going to burn a standard DVD. CS

I've seen where we can stretch the audio horizontally Longedge... but we can stretch but vertically too? How? Maybe it's a really easy thing - but I haven't tried to do that before.
Carlos - your screen shots are pretty much what Ive seen int he past in PD. I've used GoldWave for my more intricate audio editing.

Might want to consider using Magic+PD - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/46177.page
I have not tried this - but I've seen many in here state that this helps with 4k editing.

I do apologize if my 'rant' diverted from what you initiated Tony. I think I have stated in the past that I don't jump right on to the newest and latest and greatest of anything computer related. I try to get something to work and then like to stick with it for as long as it functions nicely, does the things it does that is acceptable to me, etc...
tomasc - As far as the 720 working - you know, I see when I've had a big (hour or two hour) long project, where the stuttering and jumping of the timeline marker occurrs - but I know if this bothers me enough that I'd try to do something about that. It doesn't happen all the time but - I am aware of what is happening. It's always a question of how much can a user of any editing program can 'put up with' versus what they get out of using the program, then deciding if it's worth continued use as is or doing something about it!
Ok, all that just to say, I'm ok with the 720 for now (along with WIN 8.1). WHen I finally upgrade (maybe a year off or so) I'll consider upgrading , certainly the CPU and GPU. I'm trying to hang on until 4K looks like it may be sticking around 'for real' and for costs of such equipment comes down - I know this may be a long way off... but.. heck - I don't want to spend premium money for this stuff.
Enough of my ranting and hijacking - appologies Tony.
Off to CHicago to help move the daughter. Have a good weekend guys!

I've been reluctant to 'upgrade' or take the free dld of WIN10. This is just my own personal apprehension about this sort of 'stuff'.
I had heard that WIN10 was operating - at least initially - with WIN Updates happening automatically - with no control by the user/owner - to control and go look for or dl WIN Updates. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think ....THINK that THAT has changed so users of WIN10 can turn off the auto Update feature.
Tony, the issue here sounds similar to the Update feature. Similar... not exactly the same I realize - you are discussing dealing with driver updates.
I've kind of always hated 'black box' sorts of products handed to me dealing with computer operations. Don't take that wrong, I'm sure it's good for many operations - it's just that I like to have control of things when dealing with a computer's function/operation.
Thus, I'll probably wait to convert to WIN10 and want to make sure I know how to turn off auto updates and how to control driver updating when I do 'upgrade'.
I don't think I will be upgrading soon but when I do... hope I remember some of these lessons.
